Excellent Myles Jaye going today. He's been a bright spot. Still walks too many, but otherwise looking good.

I hope Saladino is more than a utility infielder. If Saladino has a good glove and can hit, he can play 2B for the foreseeable future, unless Micah figures out how to play D or Sanchez learns how to hit.

Saladino may not be the answer...he probably isn't at 3rd (maybe 2nd or short). But he's the best IF the Sox have right now except for Abreu. He doesn't seem to have much power, but he does drive the ball a bit, so he's not depending on his doinkers just slithering through the infield.

Astros would never trade Springer. You'll never get an elite prospect for Quintana, simply because he's not an elite pitcher. I'd say a low top 50, a top 100 and some A ballers. I just don't know what that does for us re the alleged 3 year window. Now that may change IF you pair him up with Samardzija. Do Q +Samardzija get us Seager? To reshape the team, trade Sale. Take the top 2 from Dodgers, they protect 2, and we take 2 more. They protect 5 and we take 2 more. Or maybe top 2 plus Puig plus 2 A ballers. In that case, keep Samardzija (if they are still of mind to sign him)...better chance to sign him long term with that QA on his back.

Bonifacio's hit Friday was his second since early June. He has one extra base hit all year. He's alleged to be swift, but is a poor base runner. While Gillaspie's OPS is in the mid .600s , Bonifacios OPS is in the mid .300s. And he only cost the Sox $4 million. That is what is beyond awful.

The As world championship teams hated each other. Seen too many "good in the clubhouse" guys who couldn't play, and too many giving away of players that could because of the clubhouse. I don't really care if the dugout is comfortable to the manager. Talent is what wins.
