North I hope your friend watched another Charlotte game...it would be interesting to see how EJ looked, pitch clockings, etc.

I usually think that Sox fans underrate their players, but in this case, I think Sox fans overrate the value of Quintana v. how the rest of the league would see him. But all it takes is one motivated trading partner. As for Schwarber, I think the Cubs would trade him for someone of Q's value. The problem is that he may not have a position, Theo's spin notwithstanding. Cubs get a lot of value out of media hype of their prospects. There are other teams to trade with besides the Cubs anyway.

Just a crass salary dump. Terrible Of course the Sox did this with E Jackson, who would have brought back a marginal top 100 prospect like Teahen was, to save $6 mill on Teahen.

Sox farm would be bottom quartile, as it is currently. There are strong arguments on both sides of whether to leave Sale in or not. But, as usual under Ventura, the outcome was not favorable.

The only trade Hahn made in the offseason was bad. Otherwise, he just signed 4 players, 2 of whom are good, 1 bad and 1 so-so. He also missed the opportunity to peddle Alexei. He wasn't able to make small trades to improve C. He put together a terrible bench.
