Just looking at the records of those AA and AAA teams. My word!Remarkably similar to the major league team.
-
Yes, I know. And Perez and his leadership and Moxie will turn a staff, whose top pitcher is a #5 (after they trade Cease), into division contenders (because the division is not the best, don't you know?)
-
Of course they should have. That they haven't is telling.
-
They DFAd one: Seby. Kept Grandal. Love those veterans.
-
When is he going to clear out some of the riffraff from the FO? I figured he'd follow JR's credo of doing it early to give them a better chance to find a position with another org.
-
I'm sure he does want to move some position players off of this roster. But who the heck will want any of them, besides Robert?
-
Sox win a game. Right on!
-
I guess Getz is like most GMs these days and wants a field manager that he can control. But surely he can find one of those types who aren't completely inept.
-
FFS, can't hold a lead against the Royals. Pedro pushes the wrong buttons again.
-
All I can figure in cutting Zeby instead of Grandal is that a)Pedro wanted Grandal and/or didn't want Zeby back; and b) thought cutting a FA signee prior to contract expiration might send a bad message to future FA targets (not that they haven't done that before). Re Salvy, I'm hoping that was a Hahn thing and that Getz has more sense than that.

Re the Keith Law interview, I absolutely remember Hostetler saying, when discussing the 2018 draft, that they drafted Steele Walker because "X" (I don't remember the name; one of his scouts) insisted on it.
-
Chris, please consider reconsidering your position on retaining Pedro.
-
Yes Jerry talked about adding scouts that had been fired by other organizations as those orgs move to analytics "But that's Chris' call." Can Getz at least dispatch Hahn footmen like Hostetler and "Moneyball" Haber?
-
They're not big on Sosa either. How about dumping Grandal, if they're serious about non-performers. Or Clevinger just to send a message that they disagree with their predecessors and won't accommodate the foul.
-
I'm glad Gar and McGuff aren't the GM. Mercy!
-
Not by name
-
Why? He's the second guy Getz should fire (after Haber). Even JR mentioned in his press conference (the one he answered questions) that the removed the guy because they wanted more out of draft. I thought he was still around just to be a Hahn fan-boy
-
For some reason, JR doesn't piss me off when I listen to him, even when he's telling real howlers . Getz was better on the radio interview than he was in the press conference. Those guys certainly asked much better questions; although Getz still gave puffed wheat answers, but he sounded better.
-
The milquetoast media certainly didn’t disappoint: softballs as always. And Getz answered them with a bunch of hot air. And on the few legitimate questions there were, the hot air wasn’t met with follow-ups. It’s all about “culture.” Good lord. And I hope that doesn’t mean what it usually means in a political context.
-
They won't
-
If only Getz had stayed at Wake Forest instead of transferring to Michigan
-
I don't expect the media to ask Getz something like "Why was the farm system so impotent under your watch?" or "What are your qualifications for this job"; and if he's bringing in Dayton Moore, "Dayton Moore had 3 winning seasons out of 16 with the Royals; is that something that the Sox really should emulate?" or "Do you stand with Dayton Moore on Luke Heimlich?" But could they at least ask him some positive questions such as: 1)What are your plans to improve the productivity of the farm system?; specifics please 2) The Sox are at or near the bottom in terms of investment in analytics; teams like the Cubs have an analytics department 3x the size of the Sox. What are your specific plans to vitalize our analytics department?

Apparently they were good with him doing it v "alternate site" These dudes even all have the same look.

Speaking of environments, Charlotte seems like a real wasteland. Does anyone learn anything there? Can anyone tell whether or not they do?
-
The same Sosa that Grifol didn't want called up in the first place; I would assume that, despite being one of our hotter hitters, Grifol doesn't think much of him. Yes, let's bring this clown back to manage another season.
