  1. There is no way that Grifol called for a bunt there. Right? Right?
  2. A lot of hits and a lot of walks; those numbers aren't all that sporty.
  3. I don't see how hiring Haber is any more ridiculous than hiring Getz. Both are woefully unqualified for the position.
  4. Trayce Thompson - pinch hitter. Grifol lives in la la land that the most important thing is winning these gams.
  5. Lip, may I ask the source of this? I'd like to read the entire article. Thanks
  6. So Cease had 2 good seasons, then off the cliff- just like much of the rest of the “core.”
  7. I guess it's a question of JR's motives in firing them. Were they fired just because he felt that the bickering sons just both needed to be pushed out of the nest? Or did he fire them because he finally realized what a clown show his entire FO was? If it's the former, we'll get what Nightengale suggests. if the latter, we might finally get fresh air.
  8. Kenny is a top-shelf analyst. He was kind to the FO, really.
  9. While I agree with what someone said above that Morosi sounded more like he was speculating rather than reporting what he heard, I certainly like the resume of someone like Mattingly. He works for new-school Preller and learns about talent evaluation. Then he works for the very successful, and old school, Dombrowski. He's seen both sides. Someone with that kind of experience should do a great job. Rizzo certainly has had a lot of success, and towers over Moore, that the Nats fell so far off the cliff after winning does give me pause.
  10. Getz spent 2 years with the Royals as an assistant in player development. That's not much of a qualification to be the Sox Director of Player Development. Hahn had been assistant GM for 10 years; his skills were certainly limited, but he did have a decade of experience. That said, it's hard to image that Getz could be worse than Hahn. But, for myself, I'm rooting for a higher standard.
  11. Yes, the cascade of leaks that "Hahn is a victim" and "Hahn wanted to do X, but KW/JR wouldn't let him" has begun. I'm not falling for it.
  12. Why would trading burger foil an Anderson deal? Burger was just a one for one trade, so the only way it would affect an Anderson trade is if Burger was part of the Anderson trade. I am expecting a lot of “it’s all Kenny’s fault” from the media’s “sources” in the coming weeks.
  13. Can someone please show JR the record of our minor league teams….with the Charlotte Knights in bold type.
  14. Haber is the "Contracts guy." Such a Hahn junior. Not a day in the weeds. The genius behind 5/$75.
  15. I think we'll be safe from Getz.
  16. Other investors is my guess; LaRussa is my fear. I
  17. Levine says Getz has "flourished" as farm director. Yes, it's angst time.
  18. I thought it was a parody account when I saw it on Twitter. I came here for confirmation. Stunning.
  19. Another humiliating blowout defeat. Yes, let's ask the front office employees if they've doe their jobs well.
  20. The scary thing is that JR might accept that bulls@$”. if he needs nine figure guys to complete the rebuild, then he had no rebuild. And he didn’t ever really rebuild: no depth of young talent at all.
  21. They are interviewing the very people who should be out of a job, to find out whether they should be out of a job. We already know that Hahn thinks he's the right man for the job, via his continued presence: "If it ever got to the point where I felt that I wasn’t the right person in my role, I’d step aside.” Hahn from post season 2022 press conference." He's still here, A normal organization might bring in some outsiders to evaluate things. This is so bizarre.
  22. What? The only good trades he's made that really helped the team, without giving up way more than we received, were Eaton x 2 and Eloy/Cease; #4 is probably Santos, as inconsequential as that is. His next best are probably the ones he made at the deadline this year.
  23. Great stats. It was the Mets though Just as a historical sidenote, the trade that brought this man to the southside after the '67 season would make even Rick Hahn blush. It accelerated the Sox downturn, and without this trade, there would have been no "Miracle Mets."
