  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 03:11 PM) A's hit half way point at 51-30, with a +135 run diff. pretty sure i can do that
  2. no way, kyyle's was first and better
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) I think it's a class act. They can stand and cheer all they want for their players. I'm sure the little kids there were enjoying it. If I wanted to be negative about it, I'd say fans pay their 70 bucks a ticket and 25 for parking. They can do whatever the f*** they want as long as it's legal. You are correct man, they can do whatever they want haha. But as I said in the first post, they look really really lame
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) But it's OK to boo a player at any time, not cheer one. Cheering one is lame or corny? I guess negativity sells nowadays. Cheering is fine, but standing ovations are a whole other thing, they are for special or memorable events. Mariano Rivera after a HoF career? Standing O. Cal Ripken playing in 2131 straight games? Standing O. But coming back from a boo boo of your hamstring? Go ahead and cheer but no way a standing ovation. That's like a standing o for hitting a home run in the third inning, nothing special about that.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Hope you are kidding. It's a class act by the crowd. No sir I'm not, the guy missed 6 games with a muscle strain, pretty common injury. I'd get it if he was hit in the head and missed weeks or underwent treatment for a disease or something, but a muscle strain?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:52 PM) Welcoming back Bautista after missing several games with injury. seriously? wow that's pretty damn lame imo

  12. "Smithsonian Institution senior linguist Ives Goddard spent seven months researching its history and concluded that "redskin" was first used by Native Americans in the 18th century to distinguish themselves from the white "other" encroaching on their lands and culture." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5100201139.html Huh, how about that, and from way back in 2005 "And I definitely don't know how I'll tell the athletes at Wellpinit (Wash.) High School -- where the student body is 91.2 percent Native American -- that the "Redskins" name they wear proudly across their chests is insulting them. Because they have no idea." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9689220/...not-easy-sounds Those dummies! Making fun of themselves all these years! Let's save them from themselves next.
