  1. I don't think I've ever seem him hit a ball to the warning track this year.  My cat has more power than him!

Were you even watching yesterday's game? Willie turned on an inside pitch and hit it about 10 feet foul down the right field line but it would have been waaaaaay outta here if it was fair. He has some pop in that bat. The opp. pitchers try to jam him alot though in his AB's. But when he turns on one, I'd expect about 5-10 homers for Willie this year. He's also one of the rare ones on the team that's thinking more basehit than home run. I can this guy heating up if he gets the nessesary AB's.

  2. Jeremy Reed - OF White Sox - Here's another speedy American League Central outfielder who might get a look soon. Reed, ranked fourth in the preseason top 100, is off to a nice start at Triple-A Charlotte, batting .342/.364/.452 with five steals in 73 AB. The White Sox have never been particularly high on Aaron Rowand and they could use another left-handed bat to help out a heavily right-handed lineup, so Reed could be in the majors to stay by June 1.

    :headbang :headbang :headbang

  3. I was young when it happened too.  I found out about it and was shocked.

Just curious...have you heard about the Cubs minor leaguer that threw at(and I believe killed) and endangered bird?

Yea one of their phenom prospects. (Ryu?) That's just sad. Saw the article too, almost cried. (not really but felt bad since I remembered it) :crying

  4. Question for Reed and Diaz.. When are uz gettin promoted?

Serious question for Borchard, "Do you regret giving up football to pursue a major league career?"

Diaz, "Do you believe you can secure a starter's spot on the team if called up, and pitch well enough to stay and impress?"

Reed :) , 2 questions, "Can you check out a site called soxtalk? (or futuresox) Or have any of the minor leagers told you about this amazing site?" And, "How will you handle the pressure of trying to impress sox fans around the world, and management that you belong in the major leagues if called up?" (even though we know he will be)

  5. We do it at the deadline, and IMO, it isn't quite as bad, simply because we let it be known that we are playing for the present and not the future.

Haven't we been trying to compete for the present for the past 3 years now..? We've traded away alot of prospects (esp. last year) and we keep missing the playoffs, hell can't even win the division. Granted that was when Manuel managed, but it's still stripped down our farm system. I would only trade a prospect like a Rauch, or a Borchard, etc. then to even touch our future plans. Don't matter how much offense we have it's all about pitching. (Plus, we have alot of HR potential on the team) Honel, Wing, McCarthy, Diaz, Cotts, Munoz etc. aren't going anywhere.

  6. Just found this little snippet on Reed,

    Charlotte, NC

Few players generated more buzz this spring than Jeremy Reed. Popular opinion was that if he didn't make the White Sox roster out of camp, then whoever started in center field on opening day would just be keeping the position warm for him. He was sent down, but a trip to the minors has done little to silence his bat or the hype.

Through 14 games at Triple-A Charlotte, Reed is hitting .373 with five stolen bases in as many tries. Last year at Double-A Birmingham he hit .409 with 18 stolen bases. With Aaron Rowland stuck on three RBIs and nobody else producing at that position for Chicago, Reed's much-anticipated debut may not be far off. AL-only owners should keep a close eye on his progress.

Thanx for posting that DBAHO. :) It's a shame that they can't even spell Aaron Rowland's name right... ;)
