  1. Norton will fill alot on needs as far as his versitility. He also makes good contact. Your acting like if he was a willie harris type player. And we need as many fans as possible for this cheap bastard of a owner. I think he could bring alot of fans back here.
  2. We'll only hate you if you are as cheap as reisdork. :fyou JR
  3. I wouldn't mind having Norton here again. He actually gave the fans alot to cheer about when he was here because of hawk n wimpy always saying that line. I wouldn't mind at all going to a sox game and holding up a sign.."Norton..your da greatest."
  4. I agree about "shoey." I still don't think we have a hole at 1st. I don't see what's the big deal about thomas playing there. He played there most of his career with the sox, and even though he has little range, can still get get a ball here and there and his batting average is off the charts when he plays 1st. He wants to be in the infield and I think it would be a smart move. Then you can put lee at dh and put reed in lf..
  5. Theyve got some pretty decent pitching in the minors.(Brazelton (sp?) and others. Your right about the not catching up to the yank$ or bosox but they can surprise people (could make wild card.) They can always make trades as well in the future so you can't jusdge if they don't have the talent now. I guarantee though that they will be some kinda team uner sweet lou in the next couple years.
  6. I dunno about that. But even if that happens, they still got a guy in the minors who's an absoulte stud I heard. They are still deeeeep.
  7. As hawk would say..."I love it when you analyze"
  8. Good signing by the D-rays. Young, had a breakout year for them. He should have made the all-star team. They can build their team around him and Baldelli (who is a stud!!) Look out for that team in the next 2-3 yrs.
  9. First off welcome abord. As a fellow newbie myself, I can relate. I agree, Danny wright has the same problems as cotts (even though cotts is a rookie) giving up the walks. That's why the sox want him in the bullpen. He has the stuff to be a very good bullpen pitcher. He just needs to trust his pitches and fine tune his stuff. If he continues to struggle, sending him to AAA to work on his mechanics won't hurt eigher.
  10. I hope u were kidding about the stros having the best 1-5 in baseball. That will probably belong to the A's. Come on Zito, Mulder, Hudson, Redman, Harden. That's deeeeeep

Whoops.. thank you for correcting that.
  12. I actually told someone the same thing you said. But gagne's case is different. He had to figure out another pitch (changeup) to be effective with his hard fastball and he changed his delivery. If wright could get his fastball back how he had it in the minors (i think it was about 95-97mph) and figures out his "out" pitch with new mechanics, he can be a very good closer.
  13. Wright was givin the opportunity this year for the 5th starters spot when cotts strugged. He didn't produce. The sox feel better if he was a long man.(even though I don't like that eigher. He gives up WAY too many hrs.)
  14. Willie brings more to the table?!?! The only thing he brings to the table is his speed (and of course his .220 averages ) Rowand at least gets on base, pretty decent hitter (when givin the "chance") good range (might not have the speed of harris but it's decent) and has a stronger arm between the two (even though it's only average.)
  15. Im so glad he played for our sox. Always came through in the clutch. Sad the way he ended his career. (reminded me how Saunders ended his ripping his arm off ) Bo made one of the most ridiculous throws I ever saw from like 400 feet away. (Harold Reynolds should know about that )
  16. What were juan gonzalez's minor league stats? Was he a good prospect? (and I don't mean the veteran gonzalez's stats centuries ago )

Too bad for Mets Management . They spend all this $ on big time FAs (vaughn, alomar) made fans belive they had a hell of a team ( I thought they did two) and believed they could of went back to the world series, and it turned out to be a living nightmare.
  18. What about rowand getting his so called "chcance" to play now? He's an ok runner himself.
  19. Well... I don't know about 50 hrs. but 40-45 would seem alittle more reasonable. I wouldn't do a maggs n konerko for green and perez straight up. Add a prospect or two and maybe, because maggs is a better all around hitter than green (plus younger.) But I rather keep the OF's we have (lee rowand/reed maggs.)
  20. I think ponson is probably going to be off the market since someone posted that he and baltimore had a mutual agreement. No way maddux is comming here, ad i believe the dodger organization said that they would not trade away their top 2 prospects.
  21. And as I recall, both were off to rough starts at the beginning of the season. For both to finish still with pretty decent #'s shows that they are both consistant.
  22. Come on we just signed Cliff Politte... The division is OURS!!!
  23. I agree But 14 million is still alot for a player who only hits .310-30-100 every year. (esp. in this smaller money market) if he was hitting .320-40-120 then prob.(maybe even more) but hey ur right
  24. Thats like saying Maggs is a "horrible" player because he's being overpaid 14 million this season. I don't know if u think he is or not. I do not agree with that method. Horrible players are players who get these big contracts and are also bad with the bat and glove. I would call green and konerko underachievers. But since i know u'll post something else to back up your arguement, i'll agree with you. Lets not worry about the dodgers and worry about our own team.
