Oops..sorry tony didnt mean to quote your saying. That was meant for The Hawk

It looks like someone is confident in our sox Why don't we wait until at least this month ends. Usually this is the month KW makes some moves.
-
You also have to take into consideration that the Marlins were not going anywhere. They were pretty dead. If they didn't hire McKeon eariler in the season, promote the D-train when their pitching was hurt, or make significant moves by the deadline to bolster their playoff run (Conine, Urbina) they would not have never gotton that far wutsoever. Lets see... don't wanna sound too wierd but... we got rid of our manager, Manuel, hired Ozzie, maybe promote/see if one or our rookies shine (Cotts?) and maybe make a move at the deadline (which KW usually does) We might turn into the Marlins of 04!!!

Thx man. Gladly appreciate it.

By April and the all the rosters being set, who...
SoxAce replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Of course im going to pick the sox, but I also believe they CAN win it. I'll give the Tribe one more season before their young guys blossom. But it's still too early to tell. As we've already seen, teams are still making moves (KC=Juan gone) and hopefully, the sox can get some quality arms too. I'm still not convinced this is the team were going into the season. I expect KW to make a couple of pickups to solidify this team. -
Well, I'm not sure if you should call KC's picthing "unproven." Most of them are proven veterans who do get the job done. Sully has been a workload more than just this season if you check his stats. He's actually said that he prefers being out there every chance he gets. I bet if he was still on the sox, you wouldn't be saying anything about him. As far as MacDougle goes, you have to take into consideration, that was his rookie season. He is still young, and he had control problems.(that's why his walk total was pretty high) Being "exposed" is when you've been in the league more than one season. That's like saying the league figured out Joe Crede's weakness in batting. I still don't think KC has the pitching we have (can't believe i acually said that) and their offense is still not as good as ours. (if Maggs is still here and if Konerko comes back to form.) Don't underestimate The Twinkies eigher. Minnesota is still very dangerous even after losing alot of their players. But we shall see. It's going to be a race to the finish.

Pete Rose admits he bet on baseball
SoxAce replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I remember about a couple years ago, a cousin of mine, who travels ALOT in the U.S., actually kinda bumped into mr. rose. He asked fo his autograph and the guy just blew him off. I hate Rose as a person but I respect what the man has done as a player. He should be in the hall IMO. But he also said if he goes into the hall, he wants to go back to managing in baseball. Dunno if that's going to happen tho. -
So You Think That the 2004 Cubs Are Unstoppable?
SoxAce replied to C.Rector's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed. I also believe we can win the series on the north and south side of chicago against the scrubs. And Tony82087, is that just your personal name or is that a name of one of my favorite players who just "left" the sox Tony G.? -
I wouldn't mind hocking. I don't think we have a chance with Rogers, and I'd prefer Neil Cotts than Damian Moss. They both walk a ton of batters anyway. I think Cotts is special though. Has more upside IMO.
-
Your right about KW. He does like to keep things quiet, but that still tells me he's not doing much as of now. Levine does get the job done as far as info. on matter how much u want to deny that. Even tho in not a big fan of his eigher. I just got this off of another site so we'll see if KW means by this "bottom feeding."

If anyone cares, Damaso had pitched 2 innings...
SoxAce replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was thinking the same thing. I can understand him pitching in his native land, but he has been a workload the past 2 seasons. As dominent as he is, the last thing the sox need is another billy koch injury. -
O yes, COLOR=green]She's my future wife[/color] What a hottie!!!
-
Bruce Levine is on Espn 1000. He is a very credible source. He said that he talked to KW. KW said that there are no immediate negotiations going on right now, and that they are 4 million over budget, They might have to do some "bottom feeding." I got this from the sox main site. Why does this not surprise me??
-
I go to Jerry Manuel on that one. If we could have had a manager like a Tony Pena, or Lou Pinella, who are motivaters and expect players to play 110%, I bet this team would have gone deep last year. Instead this team definitely UNDERachieved. I believe Ozzie can bring that spark to the sox this year. We can OVERachieve as well as far as the way they play this wonderful game.
-
Your right but eariler in the season, he was just throwing fastballs which he got lite up for. Then when he got "injured", he tried to throw more offspeed but didn't work eigher. I still think he should mix his pitches better. Even before last year, he was usually a one or two pitch pitcher. If he developes a change-up like Gange, or cut his fasball in certain situations, I think he can be more dominant.

So You Think That the 2004 Cubs Are Unstoppable?
SoxAce replied to C.Rector's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I also believe the cubs will win the division. Andy Pettitte, in my opinion, is so overated. This will be his 1st time pitching in the national league and the astros boards think he is better than Wood, Zambrano, and the same as Prior. we'll see tho it should be a fun race especially if Clemens reconsiders (i believe he won't) retirement and goes to the stros. As for who had a good offseason, I agree with greasywheels, Phillies and Bosox had good offseasons. I also have to consider the yankee$ but the cubs did as well (they will have a great offseason if they sign Maddux and Pudge.) :fthecubs -
Dude, even tho it didn't take that long I am really lazy. I didn't want to waste my time logging on cause it takes long to load. (Even tho I have a new comp. now). Thanks for the welcome.
-
If that is true, then I would be pissed. I used to love cooling off in the shower especially in those hot summer times. JR
-
That would be a great pickup. But I believe in koch. Even tho i don't think he'll top 100 mph again, I think 96-98 mph is sufficient. The problem with Koch is he needs to mix up his pitches better. He can't expect to throw fastballs every pitch. If he developed maybe a changup or threw his slider alittle more, he can be nasty.
-
St. Louis looks like a good home for him but i can't picture that will happen. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a scrub tho. Source says the cubs might work out a deal for him after january 1st if he's still a free agent.(which he still is) Dunno if that's true tho. That would be a HUGE media frenzy to see Maddux get his 300th win were his carear began. :fthecubs

I want to say thank you myself. I was on the google sprts page on the sox for a long time. Thank god i found this place around feb. 03. Too bad I didn't know how to log on. :fthecubs
