  1. Lets not compare the Cubs to the Sox. The Cubs have a 100 mil payroll so they better be better, if they aren't its a shame. As for the people accross the country running into cub fandum, WGN is all I have to say. I know I wouldn't want to be cheering for the same team as a person like that anyway.
  2. I agree. He rules... But he might get fired for this...
  3. The day I get all the info on my season tickets... the same day I realize that major league baseball is a one team league. great. At least I can hear O-WE-O at least one more year...
  4. I love spring training. The start of baseball always brings a smile to me. To start watching the games in sunny Arizona while its still snowing here. To see a new season start, new hope, new attitudes. Just think 10 more days til pitchers and catchers report. I'm starting to get excited.....
  5. The big question is Garland. Will he be what we all assumed he would one day be? He can easily be a 16 game winner, or could have another 12-12 year. Only time will tell. The Sox also have a bunch of young pitchers, lefties none the less, they should give a shot to. Everyone new Josh Fogg would be good, but he never good a legitimate opportunity with the Sox. Now he is doing extremely well for being on a horrible team. Diaz, Stewart(though he is injured) Rauch, Cotts. If they trade for Miller or Jackson, this is their future. I don't know why they are putting so much emphasis on Shoenweis, you might as well start two of these young kids. Just think, the Sox could actually have a starting 5 that can have 4 lefties. Thats unheard of.
  6. sorry, been on for a while, usually never have time to post. was reading another thread and wanted to get other peoples views on this.
  7. I started this in response to some postings I've been reading about him in other threads. If Mientkiewicz became a Sox, I would still Boo him. He has no class and did the worst thing a sports athelete could possibly do. He disgraced fans. I will never forgive him for what he said last year, not only because I love being a Sox fan, love the city, but love baseball as well. For anyone who believes one can't dislike someone on their team, all I have to say in response is John Starks. One of my favorite Bulls memories is how fans treated Starks when he became a Bull. Every time he made a shot, you would hear a bunch of booes throughout the United Center. I was real happy to see and hear how fans remembered what Starks said about the Bulls, the city of Chicago, and their fans. It is your duty as a fan to remember this because a sports athelete has absolutely no right to put down a fan. So I will boo Mientkiewicz, even if he ever becomes a Sox. I'm sorry, there are just some things you can't forgive and forget.
  8. Frank had one of the most productive decades for a hitter ever. He still has a great career batting average. I think he should make the Hall regardless if he hits 500 HR or not. But judging by how unpopular he is as a player, he'll need to hit 500 because the hall is not only about stats, its also about popularity.
  9. Has anyone mentioned Ruddy Yan? He stole 76 bases last year and could potentionally be the future 2B of the White Sox.

  11. grhhhh, painfully the 1994 team. Back then I was a huge Jason Bere fan. He was 12-2 that year. They had the team. Everything clicked. They brought in Julio Franco. It was suppose to be....
  12. Royals??? And they are a good team because??? Yeah they may have gotten Graffy and Juan Gone, but really does that make them good. They lost Ibanez which is bigger then the national sports media make it out to be. He was a big big part of their offense. We as Sox fans complain about our starting pitching holes all the time, yet look at the Royals. I think they only had one start last year that won 10 games. I personally think it is a two team race between the Twins and Sox. Don't be fooled by the royals If you remember, they weren't so great the second half of last season. The Twins will still be competitive, they got Nathan which was a great pickup. And they have such an advantage at the Metrodome.
  13. Yanks won't trade Lieber. They invested in him last year with the assumption that he would produce for them this year. I do think the future 3B of the yanks is going to come from the Dodgers. They now have Beltre, Ventura, and Hernandez. Ventura would be the obvious choice to go back to the yanks, but since he signed as a free agent, he can't be traded til June 15th or something like that. So my guess would be Beltre. Valentin and the Sox are stuck with eachother, at least thats what I feel. I'm sure a team would take him, but not his 5.5 mil next season. It would be funny to see what the Sox would do with that freed up money if he is traded.
