You've had your last Best's Kosher Hot Dog at a Sox game
quade36 replied to Linnwood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
OK, figured I'd comment on this. The Best Kosher Hot Dogs at the park were good, but they weren't the really good Best Kosher Hot Dogs. My dad was a butcher and would always have those and let me tell you, anyone who had one said it was the best damn hot dog they'd ever have. It was about twice the size of the ones at the stadium. I've known that Best Kosher was closing for a while. My dad made a deal with them in November to buy up a ton of their products (hot dogs, salami, polishes, bologna, etc etc) Unfortunately, he passed away in early December and the deal never happened. Now I too will never have a Best Kosher Hot Dog again. A hot dog I grew up enjoying so much. I guess a lot of things are different now. I do remember going to games with my dad and that those would be the only food items he'd order. I will miss that. -

QUOTE (quade36 @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 08:07 AM) Can you believe Eddie Murphy is the singer of that song too? Of Course I've heard it. I just think its cool that he sang this song.

Noticed it when I was at the game on Sunday. Awesome..... The only song that comes close was the Greatest American Hero when Anderson came up to bat his rookie season. http://www.imeem.com/people/hC7Qw//music/1q8YcCut/soul_glo/

In Brian Anderson's rookie season he had "The Greatest American Hero" theme song. Some of you may be too young to remember that show, but if you look at the actor, Anderson looks just like him. I thought that was awesome.

I got an autograph from Dan Pasque

I DVR'd it on the replay. Will try to get it on DVD or VCD.

So I checked out the CBS SportsLine rankings. I am not going to argue with them, except for the reason they put the Sox where they are. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/10091830 "We saw what a difference a year makes with their veteran rotation in 2006. With the age of their staff, you have to expect them to be closer to their form of a year ago than 2005." Now the age of their staff? I know Contreras is old, but Vasquez will be 30. Garland is 27. Buerhle is 28. And Danks is 23. That doesn't seem like an old pitching staff to me. At least they could have mentioned trades or something. This is a weak arguement.

What do you think they'll say about Ohman and right handed hitters now? -

I don't understand a comment just made. "Will Ohman looking good against some tough right-handed hitters." ??? What right-handed stud hitters are still playing for the Sox? -
Unfortunately I remember being at my first playoff game. Game 1 of the ALCS in 2000. Foulke gets lit up in the top of the 10th. Martinez hits a 2-run HR and Olerud follows with a solo shot......

wrong wrong. First and third 1 out. A good team gets that run in. Lets say the Twins had that on the Sox. I gaurantee they would score that run. Crede had no clue where the ball was and Mac was too nervous.
-
I don't post much, but you can't call that second pitch a ball. That was right over the plate. Basically Jenks had to throw the pitch down the middle. I knew it was over once blue called it. It seemed as though blue just wanted to get the game over with. I was screaming at the TV after that pitch. Its just a shame. I don't want to watch anymore because I am tired of seeing games like this.

Actually, I have not been negative that much, and most Sox fans that I know aren't. It seems as the few that are, well they are the loudest so it appears that way. You want to see a negative fan base, the Red Sox fans win that easily.

AJ is awesome, he did the point to g-d like Zambrano always does....
-
Farmer is so bad, not because what he does to Singleton, but because he calls a bad game and is just a complete homer. You want somewhat of a homer to announce your games, but he is ridiculous.

This really shows how great Rooney was. Its a shame...

I think I woke my neighbors up when Thome hit that!!!

New Tejada News: O's reportedly make a proposal...
quade36 replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) Again, this is off of MLB Trade Rumors. But, the O's propsed Count, Uribe, Sweeney and a top pitching prospect for Tejada. Wow, I hope this doesn't happen. Not only would the Sox trade two Major League players, but two of their top prospects? Thats too much. -
Actually being at that game, I missed how it was called. It was awesome. The crowd was electrified. Almost as good as being there. Nahhhhhh...

Mike North loves critizing, yet can't take any. Also, he is so biased in his opinions he'd make an awfull color analyst. Its always nice to turn to a SPORTS radio and hear someone express his opinionated view on politics all the time. You'd think you were listening to Rush Limbaugh. I don't think I could listen to Sox games if he were the color analyst. I know I won't listen to that show he has on now on Saturdays. I wouldn't want to hear how the city is crazy for banning smoking at bars or how the democrats all suck and Bush is a great president of the people during a sports show supposedly didecated to the White Sox.

QUOTE(BurlyMan56 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) I personally would love to see Baj take Viz's spot in the pen. I think a lefty reliever has to be included in any deal if they trade Garland. I agree.
