QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 10:23 PM) If you're Stanford why would you ever agree to go back to South Bend. They're Pac-12 officials. -

QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 09:47 AM) Aren't you 3-1 in all of your leagues? Sounds like you've caught alot of breaks. 3-1 in two, 2-2 in the third. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 05:33 PM) @Rand_Getlin: The 2015 NFL Draft will be held in Chicago, per a league source. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) New York is gonna be so pissed New York did themselves in when Radio City pushed the draft to May because of a "scheduling conflict." -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 07:50 AM) Finally a good game from lacey I can't catch a break. He kills me on my lineup two weeks in a row, so I bench him. Then, he goes off for 27 last night. :-/ -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 02:46 PM) Apparently Bushrod injured his knee so Slaus/Garza coming back will be much needed. Ola probably moves to LT with Slaus moving back in at guard. Ola has been solid at guard so hopefully he holds up if need be at LT. I hope that they can try Kyle Long at RT next year. Jordan Mills just isn't cutting it. -
The doctors should have at least asked him questions before releasing him the first time. "Have you been anywhere outside of the country recently?" "Have you been around anyone who's been sick lately?"

The big question... Will there be a "Party in the USA" parody song made from this article topic? No man can tell.

I think that you'd almost want Ola or De La Puente over Garza. Slausson will be a huge addition, though. Also, they keep hemming and hawing about Chris Williams. I hope that they let him return kicks this week. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 10:06 PM) He was a pretty good hitter until injuries derailed him. Great is pushing it, by a bit. Probably his seizures shortened his career as well.

We lost both of our dogs in the last 3 years. It's hard to start again because of fear of loss. You just have to decide if 10-15 years of joy is worth a year of pain. Unfortunately, they say that pets are just heartbreak waiting to happen.

Notre Dame will play their first 6 games either at home or neutral site before they go to Talahassee to play Florida State. I hope that they can handle a hostile road crowd like FSU has. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) starters: Sale: A- -- some injury time missed, otherwise can't ask for more, top 3 starter in MLB. Q: A- -- workhorse, went over 200 ip, tough luck loser often, but top 15 mlb starter Johnson: F -- has to be injured, lost his razor thin margin when he went from 90-92 to 88-90. Not optimistic he'll ever bounce back, seems to have a shoulder problem Paulino: F -- easy come easy go Carroll : D+ -- actually was a decent facsmille of a MLB quality 4thish, 5th starter at times. Othertimes proved he's a long man at best, absolute best. Noesi: C -- did a solid job, passable 4th starter in a mediocre rotation, solid 5th in a good one though. cheap for the next couple years good pickup bassit: C+ -- if he can keep that control up he'll be a solid MLB starter. Not sure he really can though. Pen, grade as whole: F -- Only guys with decent FIPS are I believe Putnam and Petricka. Eveyrone else pretty much sucked. I'm sure that Danks gets a D- or F, but I didn't see him there. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 04:15 PM) RBI is a worthless stat now? The statistical area "Runs Batted In" shows that you got a hit when a runner was on base, and that runner was fast enough to score from the base he was on. It isn't a good indicator of power ability or overall hitting ability. The batter was just in the right place at the right time to bring a runner in. -
He's only saying that he wants Rodon in the bullpen because he hasn't found a trade partner for Danks yet. This opinion will change after Danks is gone.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) Everything you say is right, but IMO everything just leads back to Rodgers >>>> Cutler, and there's nothing the Bears can do about that. Rodgers > Cutler is moot if the Bears had a better defense and healthy WRs. They let too many receivers get open for big passing plays. The Packers aren't that much better as a team than Chicago - they just had a better game result Sunday. -

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 09:21 AM) You don't want to say no control, because they do have some control over those statistics. Instead, they just aren't predictors/indicators of future success because they rely so heavily on what their teammates around them do as opposed to the actual skillset of the player. Yes, you are correct. Sale only has complete control over wins if he can pitch 33 complete games a season, and Ramirez gets a RBI if there are players on base when he happens to get a hit. That was my meaning to no control. -

knightni replied to greg775's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The problems in general are, that RBI and pitching wins are not accurate assessments for players anymore. They have no control of either of those stats. -

Week 4 had me 0-3 due to bad choices starting and 3-4 guys on each of my rosters on bye week. Ah well. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 26, 2014 -> 08:18 AM) The catch Uribe made for the 2nd out in the 9th inning in 05 would be shown on every highlight reel had Jeter made it. I agree with this fully.

Addison Reed trade from DBacks' perspective

Even today, I'd rather have Davidson than Reed. Davidson's upside is huge. Closers are replaced every year. -
