QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) How is any heterosexual American male with an internet connection not aware of who Kate Upton is? *whispers* He's a married veteran Sox fan. http://www.treadathletics.com/uploads/1/3/...842743_orig.jpg

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 04:40 PM) where have you been? He's no longer there. He was apparently fired. Moved back to Chicago. I only listen to the afternoon on occasion. I'm not an every day listener.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:32 AM) Boers is awful. Mully and Hanley are awful too. Still though, I never even turn on 1000. That lineup is garbage. Waddle offers nothing in the afternoon and the other stuff is bland radio with too much national radio. 670 will have some lineup changes fairly soon. I think Boers will finally retire but there's really nobody to put with Bernstein. Holmes tanked the ratings on McNeil's show and there's still a chance that Danny Mac will jump to WGN. Seems like McNeil is tiring of his own partner as well. I think that Bernstein and Goff together in the midday slot would work giving Mcneil afternoon drive. I have no idea who Mac's partner would be though. Goff has been in Atlanta on his own show for over a year now.

There needs to be a name for Buehrle-type pitchers
knightni replied to Texsox's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) Maybe I don't understand the term ace, correctly. Is he an All-Star and maybe even the All-Star game starter this year? Sure. Ace is #1 starter quality. Top pitcher on the team, one of the top guys in the league and in the game today. He is all of those things. -
One of the worst Sox losses I've ever witnessed
knightni replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Pull Sale early and the BP blows it, people would scream and blame the manager for allowing the "miserable" bullpen to blow it for Sale. Pull him early and the BP saves it, people would say that he was timid and shouldn't manage if he has no confidence in the Ace to allow him to finish what he starts. There's no win for a manager in that scenario. The players have the game on their shoulders in the bottom of the ninth. I'm sure that there have been worse losses than this in the 113 years that this team has existed. People shouldn't fall prey to emotion and hyperbole over one of - at minimum - 60 (70-80) losses this season. Just relax. You'll all live longer with less stress. -
If you look on wikipedia at the MLB draft first rounds since 2002, you realize how foolish it is to hitch your wagon to "1st round talent."

White Sox Announce Latest Ticket Promotion
knightni replied to Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 03:00 PM) 6/9/2014 3:00 P.M. ET White Sox Announce Latest Ticket Promotion Inspired by the club's recent success with the "K-Zone" promotion, the White Sox today have announced a new in-game fan experience and a specially priced ticket package to commemorate Robin Ventura's managerial prowess. The new promotion, titled "Fail Zone", empowers ticket holders with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their disdain and disgust with the on-field play and the managing of White Sox "professional" baseball team. In addition to exclusive seating options, the new promotion includes a unique, ground-breaking fan experience that provides the fan one challenge flag that can be thrown once per game giving an opportunity to overrule Robin Ventura's on-field decisions. For more information and ticket options, please visit whitesox.com. Really...? Your humor is lacking. -
Would you make him a qualifying offer in the hopes that he declines it and the team gets a supplimental pick?

Sox Draft Carlos Rodon> Draft Day Discussion Thread

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) Agree too. Outside chance he could even make it to Chicago at the end of the year as well. A rotation consisting of Sale, Quintana and Rodon? I like. Has a team ever succeeded with 4 lefty starters? -

Jackson would be great... but I guess that Sox have already used too many top picks on outfielders in their recent past. -

If they can't get Rodon or Aiken, I'd almost prefer Jackson to Nola or Kolek. The #1 hitting prospect in the draft is hard to pass up. -
http://www.politicususa.com/2014/06/03/rep...p-gop-2011.html They were told about the possibility as far back as 2011.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) Baseball Hall @BaseballHall 12m No player selected with the overall No. 1 pick since the start of the #MLBDraft in 1965 has earned #HOF election. Griffey will break that. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) Jon Bois has always been one of my favorite comedic writers. I don't think there's anything he's ever done that I haven't liked. He's a solid acquaintence of mine. The guy was hilarious in the Progressive Boink days.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) Did the Sioux start the University? Because ND was founded by the Irish Catholic, whom I assume chose the name. French Catholics. Irish came from early football players that had Irish heritage. Newspapermen gave the team the nickname. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ycn-8034642 -
Part of me hopes that he gets an option to AAA. There's definitely talent there.
