Alex Gonzalez has defensive problems at shortstop. Renteria or Cabrera would be a better option at SS if they wanted to move Uribe to a different position.

Well... in light of this signing, Konerko will probably be moved soon. So, as a Sox fan, who would you rather have starting? Everett or Gload? I myself would take Everett if he can stay in shape. Why not have Everett play LF, then move Lee to 1b? I'm sure he can learn 1b quick enough, he started his sporting career as a 3bman.

So, from what I make of this signing and from the article naming the bullpen in '05, is that it could mean one of these things for the pitching staff: Diaz will not be a RP in 2005 for the Sox, he will be the 5th starter in 2005. Garland will be dealt either after the Sox sign a #3 starter, or traded in a deal for a SP because Diaz will be in the rotation. Diaz, Adkins, or Cotts will be included in a deal for a better SP.

Crazy Carl and Milton Bradley could be on that list with their erratic behaviors.
