  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) This is true, perhaps once I'm forced to get health care I'll get it checked out. Just posted it on the off chance that someone here would know something. It could just be a blockage. A doctor could clean it out in one walk-in appointment and you could be hearing. If it's worse, at least you'll know. The new insurance allows pre-existing conditions so, you wouldn't be penalized by finding out early.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) The kid from the Cards minor leagues who posted a pic of Lester with a substance in his glove has deleted his posts about it. Too late to close the barn door when the cow is already eating the azaleas.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) About ten years ago, my father-in-law had a loud ringing in his left ear for a day, then he woke up completely deaf in that ear. Never regained hearing in it and the doctors have no idea why. Tintinus then resulting deafness from loud noises through his personal history.
  4. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 01:03 PM) Any truth to the rumor that it was partly derived from BEAR WEATHER? BEARD FEARING is also a banned PED.
  5. I thought that Toronto wanted Lawrie because they were trying to put Canadian-born players on their roster to draw in the fans.
  6. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 12:34 PM) Only if BOSTON STRONG is against the rules. Sorry, "Boston Strong" is a banned PED.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) It would help if he were a bit of a better actor. The kid is so strong, it hardly ever looks like he gets fouled. The problem is he won't sell it. You hit LeBron, he throws his arms up and has a look on his face like he is giving birth. Rose just finishes the play. The most he will do is a glare at the officials after the fact.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) *calls Bus Cook for confirmation* I asked Favre to send you a text message. Try not to open it at work.
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) Jeff Hoffman, Ubaldo Jimenez, Matt Garza, etc... You want Jimenez and Garza but not Chase Headley?
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) Is there actually anyone here who would want to see a Wonder Woman movie? Ehh, I'd watch about any super hero(ine) movie if it was well-done.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) I know this is a joke, but Calvillo is done for the season Do many 41 year olds come back from a season-ending injury?
  12. How about Odette Annabele as Wonder Woman?
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 12:02 AM) When will this be confirmed by the Sox? After the World Series.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 11:48 PM) Are we talking about manias, mass or manna from heaven, lol? None of the above. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) Johnny has a weak arm, he's not going to be able to make some NFL throws unless he has Drew Brees like accuracy, which he doesn't have. And Russell Wilson is not only more accurate of a thrower but also has about three times the arm strength that Manziel has. Obviously we'll see but I just don't think the physical tools are there for Johnny to be a successful starter in the NFL. Grossman has great arm strength and a history of collegiate success. I think sometimes, it's intangibles as much as athleticism that allows you to succeed in the NFL.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) No. Sure third base is an issue, but the bigger problem is hitter regardless of position and I don't think Headley upgrades the offense enough. In his bad year, he surpassed Gillaspie and has a gold glove history. Arbitration would be $8.5 to 9 mil for one season and because of that salary, he wouldn't cost much at all to acquire. A comeback year would equal .285 30HR 110RBI 15SB .870 OPS. Even a mediocre year of .260 17HR 70RBI 5SB .780 OPS, would be better than what they've had the last few years at 3B.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Not when BJ Upton and Dan Uggla are available. Both of those players don't play 3B and haven't had a recent history of success. 2007 for Upton, 2010 for Uggla.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 10:31 AM) Headley will be 30 y.o. and a free-agent after next year. Pass. You wouldn't pay some cash for a good year and possible 1st round supplimental pick?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) Just tank this year and next and draft Jameis!! In all honesty, I'd love to see them take Manziel just for the entertainment value. The Texans could draft Manziel.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) Where is Teddy projecting in the draft? #1 overall probably.
  21. Marshall and the other recievers won't be happy to lose Cutler to an "efficient" guy. "Efficient" is Kyle Orton, Jim Miller, and Chris Chandler.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) The problem right now is figuring out which guys are going to be contributors. If Phegley, Viciedo, Abreu, and Garcia all hit next year and Gillaspie regresses, then if we'd done this move already it could put us in the playoffs. But, if Gillaspie and Keppinger in a platoon put up sort of what we might expect them to do and another hitter struggles...well then for example we'd have been much better off replacing Phegley with a high-salary McCann than we would have been taking on Headley. That's the problem...we have talent at a number of spots, but talent often doesn't equal production. To turn this around rapidly we need to replace the guys who won't produce with guys who will. Which ones are they? Platoons rarely yield successful numbers.
