Benson isn't a huge prize. They need to go after a power bat to replace Maggs and a RP to replace Mike Jackson. I think the Sox can make the playoffs with the SPs they have. There will only be 3 SPs starting in the playoffs anyway.

I say NO.. because the Sox will not re-sign Beltran because Beltran will not sign with them at the price they want. He wants to go to a bigger market and make $15-18 million plus per year. Thus we are giving up a decent RF prospect, our starting young 3b and a still up-and coming SP for a rental. PASS

Valverde is on the shelf for awhile. He's on the DL with tendonitis in his throwing arm. Tendonitis can be a weird thing, you never know how long that will be around. And yes.. I also believe that Kenny is talking about Danny Bautista.

This may sound silly, but I believe that the one prospect that the Sox have traded over the last two seasons that will come back to bite them the most is John Rauch. I don't know why really... I just have that feeling.

Yeah, he looked a lot more comfortable at the plate when he batted left-handed in his last game before being sent down. He went 1 for 3 but could have been 3 for 3 if those rockets he hit hadn't been run down by Kotsay. Good D by Kotsay I must say.

That looks ALMOST like the list of players that KW would trade on July 31 for upgrades. Konerko has been a lot better this year, but he was on the chopping block in the offseason. Rowand has really improved over his last few seasons.. but he was also considered to be a "stop-gap" player in center. Those other 3 guys plus Mike Jackson.. have been the most disappointing players in a Sox uni outside of Gload playing in right field.
