  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) I get you, I just think the conceptions of relationships, even if so far removed from the inception of religion, are all based on religious stuff that is engrained in humans by now. If it was socially acceptable and it wouldn't hurt her I would be cheating on my girlfriend all time. I don't for her sake and the reflection it would have on me as a person. Religion makes that reflection negative. Faithfulness is not fully based upon religion. Faithfulness is based upon your personal value of the other individual. If you love, care for and respect them, then you stay monogamous. We humans, even though we are (arguably) based in simian ancestry, would like to believe that we have evolved into a higher status than the other animals.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) I'm interested in team 2 There's a new #2 team available. The old #2 has been taken.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 02:25 AM) I seriously want to know what was going through Eli's head in that gif. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8SzDm-EbNg
  4. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) I'm just tired of celebrating a 30 year old team. Only 19 more years left of celebrating 2005.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 07:47 AM) Moving to get away from his mistress sounds so stupid. Just get a restraining order, or stop nailing her. He sounds as dumb as he did before. A restraining order would require a paper trail and an admission of guilt.
  6. We're a yearly keeper league. I'm open to anyone that would like to join. I just want to make sure that people stay active.
  7. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 01:29 AM) Bump. Stop being like this.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) It does? Most teams do that. The Sox did it with Rodon. The Pirates and Astros have both done it. The Braves didn't do it with Heyward and because of that, he was a free agent this offseason. Yeah, but it peeved the players' association and Boras.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) It makes me feel old to think an entire generation of Sox fans is growing up not having been to a game there. I went when I was about 10, but the last 7 years afterwards, it was getting downright gross and dangerous-appearing to many people.
  10. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) What's the format? I tried to explain the scoring/rules in later posts. I hope that helped.
  11. The draft is 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st... in a snake.
  12. It's one hitter, one pitcher, one wild card. You lose a draft pick (no lower than round 10) by where they were drafted last season if they weren't keepers last year. If they were keepers last year, you lose the draft pick by where Yahoo has them ranked. You can't keep two guys with first round value.

  14. This all goes back to the Cubs holding back Bryant last season for that one week to guarantee the extra year of contract status.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 09:18 AM) Scott Weiland wasn't a suicide. Drug Overdose You're right. Of course, drugs are pretty much eventual suicide.
  16. The building also faces in a direction where the sunset isn't in the players' faces.
  17. His last tweet was in December, RIP - ing Scott Weiland after his suicide.
  18. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) I met Mr. Reinsdorf once back in the late 90s, in one of the many playoff-less Octobers we've experienced during his time as owner. It was a seasons ticket holder gathering in the Bullpen Sports Bar. He was talking about the construct of the then-new Comiskey Park, and he told the crowd gathered that his only regret in the construction of the park was building the opening of the upper deck at the base of the deck, vs. somewhere in the middle. I don't think anyone could argue with that, of course, as that was clearly a serious architectural flaw given the steepness and height of the original upper deck. When I had the chance to talk to him, I asked him if he felt that way, why not just close the openings of the base and build out openings in the middle. He said "no, that would cost millions of dollars to do", and so I was, like, ok. I also asked him why he didn't build the park in the direction of the skyline. That park in it's location is just off the city enough that the view of the skyline is just perfect. I think we've all seen it at one time or another walking down the ramp that faces the skyline when leaving the park. I've often maintained that the original upper deck might not have been maligned to the degree it was back in the '90s because the view of the city would have been fantastic from almost every seat up there. Reinsdorf's reason for not building the park in that direction had something to do with the direction of the sun on the field preventing them from doing so. And to this day that explanation has never made any sense, because building the park in that direction would have essentially been in the same direction Comiskey Park had faced for 80 years, and that seemed to work out fine. I'll always look at that decision as such a missed opportunity for this organization. I had heard that there was a stipulation in the funding that they had to keep the address 35th and Shields.
  19. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) This. Just looking back at the last few HOF classes, the only player drafted #1 overall was Griffey Jr. The only other player drafted in the top 10 was Frank Thomas. Looking through a handful of recent drafts, there are a ton of names in the top ten of each year that never made much of an impact in MLB. Chipper Jones ARod (If eligible) Josh Hamilton (outside chance) Adrian Gonzalez Joe Mauer (outside chance) David Price (outside) Stephen Strasburg (outside) Bryce Harper (outside)
  20. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/players-vie...uture-managers/ I honestly cannot think of anyone on the Sox; and that's a problem.
  21. Why not just sign Alex Riosss...hahahahaha! Yeah... I couldn't say that with a straight face...
