QUOTE (SmashROT @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 09:05 AM) "Kenosha Brad" Jewell passed last night. Local sports talk contributor and long time caller to the Score. He had a weekly sports radio talk show up in Kenosha. I remember listening to him call in on the old Q101 Sherman & Tingle show pretty much every day. Super good guy. Sad to see him pass. Was he ill?

The original 1947 Miracle on 34th Street is my favorite. Edmund Gwenn IS Santa Claus. No one before or since has come close.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 02:49 PM) Don't be mad at Steve. He's slow. Everyone stop what you're doing and go see The Shawshank Redemption! I've heard that The Jazz Singer is the bee's knees, fella! Hop in your jalopy and skedaddle down to the cinema post-haste!

QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) That gif of Avi the dog butchering that pop-up is still top notch. The dog is blind. Not sure what Avi's excuse is. -
That's the second shoe! You can all go home now!

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) The streaming sites that put a bunch of bugs on your comp? No thanks! They have script/popup blockers for free that you can add to your browser.

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) First domino has fallen. Now the rest should sign shortly after this! That's not a domino. That's barely a pick-up stick.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) The same thing for me. If it wasn't for CSN, I could go without cable. You can watch 3/4 of CSN online through streaming sites.

Does that close the door on Buehrle? -
Who will the next TV PBP be to split duties with Hawk?
knightni replied to professa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Stone should be fulltime PBP this season. Just hire a color guy. -
Who will be the first domino to fall of the Big Three?
knightni replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gordon will go back to KC first. -
SB Nation has an early mock draft with the Bears taking OT Ronnie Stanley. I really think that they'll go defensive in round one this year, though.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) They have Utley for that role. They're going to spin Micah somewhere else. Heard it's in a desperate attempt to get Jose Fernandez. -
Avi's problem is that he extends himself too soon on pitches and loses potential power options on fastballs. http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/white-...struggles-plate

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 11:41 AM) Pirates just traded for a 1B from the Brewers, right? That door is closed. I thought that was the Mariners (Lind).

Baez is overrated and not worth what the Cubs want. He has a horrible swing and literally swings from his heels on every pitch.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) LMAO at Greg. We didn't overpay especially since we don't have a great farm system to begin with. Worst thing we've done is trade farm system depth. Then you wana bring Alexei back? No. He's done. He's old. Time to move on. Not a negative thing I can say about this deal. Micah can't stay healthy and has issues defensively. Montas, while I liked him and excited about because he was a hidden gem in the Peavy deal, was expendable. We've upgraded offensively and defensively in the infield without moving Anderson, Fulmer, Rodon or Q. I'm tickled to death. I had a dream last night we signed Cespedes (I like him and keep the draft pick). Hope it happens although I've stated all along give me one of the OFers. We've upgraded the catching position offensively with a platoon. We have 3 top 50 picks in the draft as long as we don't give up one for one of these OFers. I'm ok with moving Trayce because Shuck quietly had a fine season for us. I bet half the fan base didn't know who he was before last July. Shuck will be the 4th OFer. Lineup has added some much needed pop from the infield. Now hearing Hahn saying "not satisfied" and "we shall see on spending on Upton or Cespedes." I'd be shocked if we didn't land one or at least make a hard run. If they've traded to fill 2B and 3B, that means that Saladino, Sanchez, and Anderson will get an open shot at the SS job in Spring. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) I don't know that their is any true majority owner in the sense that you have one owner who truly has control (and can push any decision he wants). I think he is the majority stakeholder though. Jerry Jones Mark Cuban -

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) He's the majority owner. He can do what he wants on that front. And it's not like one outfielder is what is going to blow up this deal. The White Sox have the money. Don't worry about overspending. 1) There's no cap 2) The 2017 team sheds a lot of weight I don't want to go for it every year. I'm a rebuilder guy, but if you're going to go for, go for it. Actually, he's just chairman. I don't believe that he's the majority owner. -
Gordon is limited to LF, though, correct? I'd rather have Upton with his RF arm and sheer power. Plus, he's younger than Cespedes.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 02:53 PM) I'd be ok with Cespedes on 4/5 years. He may get more depending on how many and who is involved. I'd guess that Cespedes is 32 or 33 years old - not 30 like he claims.
