  1. Sox: Bad/mediocre for the last 7-10 years at least. Bears: Worst team in the NFL Bulls: In a rut. Good enough to be in the playoffs, not good enough to win the title. Notre Dame sports: Basketball was decent last year, but they're in rebuilding mode. Football always teases, but is never there at the end of the season.
  2. I finally saw Avengers : Age of Ultron. I really liked the first movie, but this one was underwhelming to me. The Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver angle was flat to me because they couldn't use their true back stories due to the X-Men separation. I could see the tension between the characters creating the next Captain America film, but the whole film felt hollow and unsatisfying. The entire script seems to have been made as a continuation to the Marvel film theme as opposed to making one quality film. 2.5 stars out of 5
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 10:17 AM) He is a color guy. Stone should be PBP anyway. Hawk was Don Drysdale's color guy, iirc.
  4. Did very well at Charlotte in 2015 (17 HR 81 RBI 11 SB .270 BA .313 OBP .438 SLG .751 OPS) Will be 26 going into 2016, may have a shot at an OF spot on the MLB team if he has a strong Spring. Otherwise, he's probably going back to AAA.
  5. Good numbers as a reliever at low-A Kanny in 2015 (3.69 ERA 5 SV 75.2 IP /49 K 1.26 WHIP) But, he's a converted pitcher, 24, and hasn't even pitched in high-A ball yet. Possible AA as a 25 year old in 2016; who knows if or when he'll make the majors.
  6. Steady numbers as a 24 year old reliever in Birmingham in 2015. (3.74 ERA 47 K/67.1 IP 2 SV) Probably a RP in Charlotte in 2016, with a chance to come up if an injury occurs.
  7. Showed quality numbers at AA Birmingham as a 23 year old in 2015. 12 W 3.29 ERA 1.23 WHIP 147.2 IP/104 K Should be a challenger for a roster spot in 2016 or a top Charlotte SP.
  8. 27 years old and steady at AAA Charlotte. Possible back up catcher in 2016, but most likely a minor league free agent.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 09:31 AM) It is still 2 hours in a car coming, and 2 hours in a car after the game. I'm sure if Hawk's daughter and grandkids were based in Lemont, he would be doing home games only, but as been pointed out, this should be a positive when finding another announcer, as I would think being based in Chicago in the summer is far more attractive than a job that is almost exclusively on the road. My post said what you just said.
  10. Repeated the 2015 season at Winston-Salem. Still struggling with the strike zone and pitch selection. (112 K in 382 AB) Was selected for the AFL.
  11. Struggling as a reliever after being removed from starting; still hasn't had a sub 4.50 ERA at any level. Posted a 5.00+ ERA at Winston Salem this year.
  12. 25 years old and struggling to hit in AA (.187, 55 K in 203 AB, 10 CS/22 AS)
  13. Why would anyone that has his family less than two hours away, choose to stay in a hotel room for 6 months out of the year? He could get a driver, it's just the daily commute that he's tired of taking. Plus, Chicago, while a nice city, is not an old person's city.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) I doubt it happens. You don't just up and move an original American League team that has over 115 years of history in city. The Giants and Dodgers were in New York for almost 75 years and got moved.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) Even with Lynch out, it should go over 43.5. Apparently I suck at predictions.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) That would be a heck of a parachute considering his continued failure at ND. How is he a continued failure at Notre Dame? He's 49 and 21. He had his first two seasons with Weis' mediocre guys.
  17. Even with Lynch out, it should go over 43.5.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) Was going to mention him since I would definitely want him. He probably wouldn't leave MLB Network or his other game calling for the Sox, especially part time. Dave Revsine would be cool. Even though he's on Big Ten Network.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) The person I know who claims he lives two houses away from him lives off Gumwood between Brick and Cleveland. Oh alright. That area has had quite a bit of construction over the last 5-10 years.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) Ugh I hate it. I have a f***ing rat or mice in my house. I am hoping it is a rogue one but have had evidence over the weekend and no luck on the traps I set. I can't sleep in peace. And when I say in my house, I'm not talking attic or walls but in it. Wife left garage open a crack and then our entry door as well and something came in when it was open. If it's a rat, you need to seal up your basement (if you have one) and all exterior cracks. Then, get the poisoned peanuts. They really help.
  21. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) He has a Granger address, but actually lives much closer to Mishawaka than to Granger. Still Penn's school district though. Probably somewhere in Knollwood.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) 2 there. 2 back. He should just get a driver.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) Because he lives in Granger, IN and doesn't want to drive 4 hours a day 81 times. Only the White Sox, man. Granger is barely two hours away from USCF.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) I wish people would get Heyward out of their minds now, instead of building it up as a real possibility. I always thought that Heyward was too much of a wide-open swinger and he's been overly-hyped since his rookie year. He has less than 40 HRs total in the last 3 seasons.
