Haven't seen any talk until now about Campbell...but I would be glad to have him on the Hawks. The Chicago Blackhawks have increased their search and are close to acquiring an offensive-minded defenseman, sources have told TFP. According to one source, the Blackhawks recently re-opened discussions with the Anaheim Ducks regarding Francois Beauchemin, while another indicated the team may be interested in Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell.

I think Barker and Hendry just aren't ready. They look timid and scared to make mistakes. Barker looks to have the tools to be a good dman but he needs to settle down and play his game.

I'd also be a fan of bringing Boyle here. There is also some chatter that DT might look at Dion Phaneuf, no idea what Calgary would want for him if they'd trade him at all. As for Schneider I personally, would rather have Rob Blake than him. Also found this on Spectors site. BLACKHAWKS TRADE COMING TODAY? CHICAGO TRIBUNE: Chris Kuc reports Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon suggests there's a "strong possibility" he could make a trade soon for a veteran defenceman. Kuc believes it could come as early as today. Tallon is also reportedly close to re-signing forward Patrick Sharp to a contract extension. Spector's Note: So who could be coming to Chicago? Rob Blake? Paul Mara? Christian Backman? Dick Tarnstrom? Hopefully we'll find out as early as today.

He has "great sources" saying the price for Roberts is much higher than was previously reported. The Orioles want Rich Hill, Felix Pie, or Tyler Colvin. Hill is known to be off-limits.

Seen this on MLBtraderumors..... UPDATE, 1-9-08 at 9:22am: Roch Kubatko (via a team spokesman) and Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun talked to Andy MacPhail and report that nothing has changed since last night on the Roberts talks and no deal is done.

rototimes...has a blurb about this possible deal. Espn insider, rotoworld, mlbtraderumors, southsidesox and a few others that I have seen. It appears most are using the LA Daily news as a source though also the Daily Breeze...I assume thats a different paper altogether.

Seems like everywhere is talking about this possible deal...details vary of course. Could be some fire here.

If they are willing to deal santana/shields/willits I would certainly have to look at that one.

I am sure Tallon would love to make a deal to help this team but most of the GMs realize the trouble the Hawks are in and will try to rape DT in a deal.

I thought Sweeney brought something to the team that everyone wanted..more of a doubles hitter instead of a power guy in which we have far too many of the softballers. Too bad he didn't get much of a real chance here.

I love how the general concensus is the Sox farm system sucks until you trade a few of them....Rogers is getting as bad as the windsock.

I wonder if the Giants would be interested in trading Randy Winn....or maybe look into Preston Wilson. IIRC he had season ending knee surgery though.

i have to say I actually like how Pitt's Jersey looks. As Critic said I saw them in pics and thought terrible.
