  1. The Hawks can't catch a friggin break when it comes to injuries....Hopefully Bondra will be ok. By the sounds of it his shoulder at minimum is seperated. At least he scored his 500th goal with the Hawks.
  2. Hawks making a huge comeback... 4 - 3 now in the 3rd. Goals by Wiz, Smoke and Arkipov...who has really stepped up his game since Savard took over....
  3. This couldn't have happened to a "better" guy..IMO
  4. How long before the video of this ends up on Youtube?
  5. By the looks of it the Hawks are getting their heads handed to them... 4 - 0 in the 2nd...
  6. If the Hawks can get Prospal, just think how actually solid a team they will have once Hanzus is fully healthy and back playing.
  7. Another guy I believe is still out there that could be of some interest as a stop gap 5th starter could be Tomo Ohka possibly? Pure speculation of course.
  8. By the sounds of it, seems Minaya is looking more towards Buehrle. "He is looking for someone with a more established pedigree." I would think Buehrle would qualify as that. He is a proven winner. Any chance he'd be willing to part with Pelfrey and Milledge or maybe even Heilman instead of Milledge?
  9. The part I found funny about TSN's report on this is they had the teams sending the guys to the wrong teams...someone needed to double check their facts... The Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks have completed a minor league deal with Chicago sending right wing Pierre Parenteau and defenceman Bruno St. Jacques to Anaheim in exchange for goaltender Sebastien Caron and forwards Matt Keith and Chris Durno.
  10. I found this on the main boards... Pierre Parenteau Assets Has excellent offensive instincts. Can line up both at center and right wing with equal aplomb. Flaws Is woefully thin and needs to add serious muscle in order to make it in the NHL. Must continue to work on his play without the puck. Career potential Third line forward. Bruno St. Jacques Assets Displays impeccable work ethic. Likes to lay on the body, especially in front of the net. Has decent offensive instincts. Flaws Isn't gifted or skilled enough to earn top-four minutes in the NHL, so he must continue to be the hardest worker on the ice. Struggle against speedy forwards. Career potential Reserve defenseman. I'd say the hawks won this trade for what it's worth...
  11. Parenteau was Anaheim's ninth round pick in the 2001 entry draft out of Chicoutimi in the Quebec Major Junior League. The 23 year-old forward has appeared in 28 games for Portland this season scoring 15 goals and adding 13 assists for 28 points with 35 penalty minutes and a +6 rating. Parenteau played for Team Canada in the 2003 World Junior Championships appearing in six games and scoring four goals and seven points to help Canada capture the silver medal. St. Jacques, 26, was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the ninth round of the 1998 entry draft. This season, he has appeared in 25 games for Portland in the AHL scoring a goal and nine points with 26 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. Caron was signed by the Blackhawks as a free agent on August 8. He has played in nine games for Norfolk with a record of 4-4-4 with a 4.03 goals against average and a .868 save percentage. Keith has appeared in 19 games for Norfolk this season scoring two goals and eight points with 15 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. He also played with the Blackhawks earlier this season appearing in 2 games with 4 penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating. Chris Durno was signed by the Blackhawks as a free agent on September 25 after coming to training camp on a tryout basis. This season at Norfolk, Durno appeared in 22 games scoring four goals and five points with 61 penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating.
  12. I am trying the wait and see approach myself. I feel KW isn't finished. I will wait to see the total "Big pitcure" before I decide if I want to jump off a building.
  13. If the Yanks are seriously looking to trim some payroll, maybe they will be still looking to dump A Rod as well....
  14. Not sure if I would be a huge fan of this but could this be a possiblity to fill the 5th starter spot and let some of these young arms get more work in AAA? Joel Pineiro, RHSP--Seattle Mariners: Rays have expressed interest in him, Scott Dohmann and Jason Bulger. Red Sox, Royals, Twins, Yankees, Pirates and Cardinals interested. Buster Olney speculates that the White Sox may be the frontrunners to land him. The Pirates are unwilling to meet his asking price.
  15. Seen this on MLBTradeRumors...TIFWIW. New Evidence In Juan Uribe Case? It appears that Listin Diario, the oldest daily newspaper of the Dominican Republic, indicated earlier this week that White Sox shortstop Juan Uribe may not be out of the woods on attempted murder charges. The original article seems to have vanished, but a decent English translation can be found here. In late November it seemed like Uribe was going to be cleared of the shooting. However, the prosecution is promising new evidence that Uribe was involved. It certainly seems possible that the Sox will enter 2007 with Alex Cintron at shortstop.
  16. Cullimore scored a sweet goal... unfortunately it was on his own goalie...DOH.
  17. What about Preston Wilson? I believe he hit Lefties fairly well and has played all OF positions IIRC. He would probably command too much money though.
  18. Any update on when TalkBhawks will be up and running?
  19. Hawks lose a tough one tonight 2 -1 to the Preds. I lay this one on Arkipov for not clearing the puck on the PK but the PP is still terrible as well. They had opportunities to win this game and couldn't get it done.
  20. WB Josh and Happy Holidays to you as well!
  21. Heres the take on MLBtraderumors page.... White Sox Sign Toby Hall According to a press release from the White Sox, the team has signed free agent catcher Toby Hall to a two-year, $3.65MM deal. There's a $2.25MM club option for 2009. Hall turned 31 this year; he hit well after a trade to the Dodgers after a June 27th trade from the Devil Rays. Hall didn't like being a backup and requested a trade in July. Today's signing indicates that he just couldn't find full-time work anywhere, since A.J. Pierzynski plays a good 135 games a year. Hall is a solid defender and his right-handed stick complements A.J. well. He's got a high-contact hitting style but little power or ability to draw walks. Hence, the lack of interest in him as a starter
  22. KW with another brilliant move....keep it going KW
  23. Now after several stupid penelties the Hawks are up 5 - 4....
  24. Hawks are leading 5 -1 after the 1st...Bondra has 2 assists.
