The Mets were barely willing to pay him that much over four years when he was a free agent a year ago -- their first offer was for about $33 million over three years. Now they're supposedly willing to pay him $16 million per year -- it will actually be more if they have to make up the difference in the state taxes between Florida, which has none, and New York -- and give up one of the top-10 pitching prospects in baseball. You would be insane to not want Ichiro. The things he brings to the table for any team are worth its weight in gold.

This is without a doubt one of the worst efforts...outplayed severly and just too many stupid penelties...this team is toast. Habby looks to be a huge bust and the Hawks could only hope to be able to get rid of him somehow....

I will own up and eat my crow....I wanted to trade Crede for Chavez and certainly wanted to run Garland out of town... I am glad they both proved me wrong and played huge parts in the season and post season. This is why I am a fan and not a GM of a team I suppose.

I don't feel like reading through this whole thread but did anyone else notice on the replay of the introduction that it seemed Farmer forgot to introduce El Duque?? He looked so out of place....I wonder if he was pissed they forgot him...because I don't remember Farmer saying his name either....
