  1. guys since im so quick i just realized that third eye blind made a song called hows it gonna be and thats why the cheat put the cover of there cd in his post. wow im so fast.

  2. I remember hearing those exact comparisons. Funny how a few years can change things. But, With the few prospects OF that do look good,(Reed, Anderson, Sweenny) I say if the Sox actaully do have a plan, trade maggs this season and dont let him just walk when the season starts.

trading maggs would at least get us something in return but i wouldnt trade maggs until i made him a contract offer. i really dont wanna see this guy go.

  3. But what happened to teh baby steps that MLBPA insisted had to happen and MLB aggreed to in the last CBA?  The Players Association fought sweeping changes, to the point that getting caught juicing gets just a hand slap or so untill you are dumb enought to be caught 4 or 5 times.  With the > 5% positive tests in last year's blind testing, periodic random testing was implemented.  If I understand correctly, if this turns up more than some predefined threshold of use, then another level of crackdown will be enacted.

My point is NOT that I don't want to see the game cleaned up, I do as much as anyone.  But, now, after years of getting NOWHERE, baseball is now getting SOMEWHERE, even if it's only by baby steps.  Importantly, they were doing it ON THEIR OWN.  Why now should it become a political issue for outside influences to dictate and mandate?

It's an easy target for politicos that need easy targets.  Illegal drugs can't fight back, and just seems like a new, ill-advised front on the doomed and ill-advised 'war on drugs."

Baseball had set the wheels in motion, Ironically, ONLY NOW are steroids worthy of a state of the union address and federal legislation...?

Someone please get me up to speed if I'm missing something.

i see where your coming from. i think illegal drugs is a no brainer and it shouldnt take policticians to force the issue.

  4. yes! veterans! i've had enough of this all young guys team!

same here. im sick of all the young guys who think they can just show up and be great. thats not how it works. they need to start playing with heart and we need some solid veteran leadership if this team is gonna do any thing in the next couple years.

  5. He is going to be a real stud for us. I think he can be the Miguel Cabrera for us as far as reaching the majors at a very young age. He has proved that he can handle major league pitching and I'm sure he can perform at an exceeded level as well. :)

Hope fully this guy can be the next cabrera. he seemed to show signs of not fearing major league pitchers like colon who are pretty indimitating. cabrera last year in the world series stepped up and jacked a bomb opposite field off of clemens in right field. pretty good comparison.

  6. what a baby.

this is absolutely ridiculous for him to be whining this much over being sent to baltimore and all that s***. Get over it.

also i think i liked the situation in baltimore then the situation of the eagles. the eagles have failed to make it past the nfc title game for like 3 years and they lost troy vincent the other day. i think there defense is getting old. i think baltimore wouldve been a nice fresh start for TO but nope not good enough for him. just ridiculous.

  7. Steve,

A true fan has to push management to put a winner on the field. Accept mediocrity and that is what you will be served.

We needed to replace Colon at the min and since we are on the E-Lo thread, make up for a drop off.

My hunch is Mark and E-Lo will combine for the same number of wins as last year.

Being a fan is coming back each year no matter what. Not blindly cheering whatever crap the team does.

    well said tex

  8. thats kind of a down side because we either keep him or he's back to the marlins. if we had the option to send him to the minors it would be a lot easier for management to make a decision on how many pitchers to keep. i think ozzie will go with 12 just to keep grilli.
