  1. i mean, im still worried about up the middle with these younger guys, but i really think that ozzie will get them in shape.  The problem with manuel is that i think the younger guys never really felt comfortable up here.  Ozzie's a lot more personable and wont put as much pressure on the kids and i think it'll pay off

ya oz man will make the kids feel a little more comfortable when there playing. i think team chemistry will be better this year too.

  2. Also, I should add.

They were 5 mill under the cap before signing their DT to the 6 year deal.

Included in that is the 6 year tender offer they have already given to Tait.  The Suntimes is now reporting that his cap hit this year will be 14 million.

This means that at 6 mill they already have, that they would have to get another 8 mill under.

After the signing they are probably 3 mill under, and this may not include the cap room set asdie for draft picks.  If it doesn't, then they are basically out of caproom.  If it does, then they have 9 million that can go to Tait, before even restructuring.

I'd guess they could get this done without any major cuts, if the players are willing to restructure.  Plus, if they can do it, after this year the Chiefs have him at an affordable salary.

ya the cheifs dont have a lot of cap room left which is why the bears gave tait such a high salary for his first year. looks like the cheifs will have to let some guys go if they want this guy back.

  3. :lolhitting That's an awesome movie.

And I agree with you totally.  I've said this before, this team will do GREAT in the underdog role, that's ozzie's specialty.  I'm expecting nothing less than a division championship this year.

same here. I'm very happy with the team we have although we may have some shaky points i think things will shape up to be fine. a division title seems very realistic for us this year.

  4. With the intensity and the sheer volume of the games, the rest of the tourney doesn't seem nearly as cool.  I absolutely agree that the first weekend is the best.

i'd have to agree too because that always seems to be win all the close games are and all the buzzer beaters and what not.

  5. I went to the saturday cubs-sox game last year.  When the great, d'angelo jimenez hit a liner up the middle to bring in Mags in the 9th.  One of the funnest games I've ever been to.  The atmosphere was awesome after the game.

the atmosphere is always amazing at a sox-cubs game. i love it.

  6. yeah i'd never heard of him either... i'd really like to see him as opposed to bernard... i dunno, if the steroid allegations are true i dont want him on our club.  I'm totally ticked about the whole steroids thing in general

you heard Valenzuela was on the roids?

  7. Yeah the goalie fight at the end was spectacular.  But the guy who had the take down during one of the brawls had the move of the night.

worst part of this game is this: Zhamnov made it 5-2 with his 10th goal in the third period. Zhamnov has nine points in seven games with the Flyers since he was acquired from Chicago last month to help fill the void at center created by injuries to All-Stars Jeremy Roenick and Keith Primeau

  8. at least i can say that i'll be at one of those games because my dads work has season tickets and usually gets tickets every year to one of those games, so im not to worried.

and that friday game when we came back from 8-0, I was in attendance. I was about ready to leave, but then we started coming back and pauly hit two homeruns and i think the second one put the sox in front for good. Best part was, when pauly's second home run went into the bullpen the guys in the bullpen gave the ball to my dads friend and he gave it to me. best sox game ive ever been too.

  9. I don't give a f*** if Koch throws 12 mph...aslong as he is effective. I think he will get forty-plus saves this season.

if he hits his spots he should be pretty effective.

40 saves would be very nice outta billy, and would silence all his critics here in chicago.

  10. The thing I don't get is Baltimore is going to be very good (barring Jamal Lewis going to jail). They have showed they want to win. They already have Ray Lewis, they want to bring McAlister back, plus Jamal. They have a QB they think will be the future. The Eagles are losing people, Emmons already signed elsewhere. Duce is gone. Vincent is gone.

i agree that the ravens will be good, if T.O.'s ego doesnt get in they way. this guy needs to just suck it up and realize how much better of a situation he's in now, rather then being in San Francisco. Once he realizes this i think he'll be a little happier.
