Back in the second, DJ was saying that they can't worry about hurting people's feelings (when he was saying that they needed someone getting ready in the bullpen because Danks was getting shelled). Same thing goes here. Why start Owens? Every game is important from here on out. Use Owens as a pinch runner late? Sure, but not in CF in a lineup that isn't hitting already. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) That is my problem. Anderson has sat on an MLB bench all season. Owens couldn't make this team. To be a September call up, and get a start over someone who has been here all year is a huge slap in the face to Anderson and the team. The Sox deserved what they got in the 6th. I agree. -

Yeah, I'm already sick of seeing the way the team is playing. Now I'm watching what looks like a team that has figured they're out of the running. It's great to see these guys get called up and get some ML time, but Brian Anderson is a better option in CF right now. -
This may be wishful thinking, but: Sox 93-69 Twins 91-71

AJ is simply awesome. It's great to have him on our side. He's a playmaker anyway you look at it. The dropped third strike in the ALCS, today's incident...he makes things happen. If this team can continue to get it together and win (especially when MN loses) they have a chance.

1. Buehrle 2. Vazquez 3. Contreras 4. Buehrle (throw a Danks jersey on him) 5. Buehrle (throw a Floyd jersey on him)

Who is your favorite player currently on the Sox's MLB level team?

I could have voted for several and possibly written in a few names, but I had to vote for Bobby. The guy pitches his heart out every time he's out there. -
Make a wild or bold predicition for the 2008 Sox

Realistically, Cabrera does exceedingly well and wins his second Gold Glove, Buehrle wins 18 games, and Joe Crede starts at third 120 times. -

On a player level, Jon Danks throws three perfect games in a row and baseball officials discover he's just a figment of Kenny Williams' imagination. The Sox organization is fined an undisclosed amount after promoting "No Pants" Mondays. -

Sox win the division after Cleveland falls into Lake Erie and Detroit burns to the ground. The team then rides the high all the way to the World Series where they are swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates. -
Okay, I'll insult myself right now. I guess we're looking at if the season started now, and Ramirez hasn't officially joined the team. Answered my own question there.
-
I may have missed something recently and/or I'm just opening myself up for a barage of insults, but what about Ramirez? Doesn't he stand a legitimate chance of starting?

I didn't see the link between Prior and the White Sox. The Sox are not mentioned as potential suitors. However, I do think it would be a great signing. Low risk and a potential high return.

I for one was surprised and upset that the Sox did not land Hunter, but at $90 million, the Sox weren't going to get him. And would anyone have been happy if the Sox had traded a huge chuck of the farm system for Chubby Cabrera? Sure it looks like the Sox haven't done anything, but there's still time and there's still money.

Josh Fields has impressed me. I think I might take him at 3rd over the injury-prone Crede. I would hope that his defense would improve (it surely will), and he has already shown great offensive skill.

I watched a good part of last night's (8/10) game. I think that Hawk and Stone make a good team. I really have nothing against DJ, but the chemistry between Hawk and Stone is better than between Hawk and DJ. Listening to them, I really felt like either one of them could do the play-by-play. When DJ's on, he doesn't seem comfortable doing the play-by-play...almost as if Hawk is staring at him the whole time.

And that's pretty much a White Sox season...

I grew up in Pittsburgh and was a die hard Pirates fan until '93/'94 when I lost interest in baseball. Aside from 1991 and 1992 when they were a hell of a team, I was used to disappointment. Now being a White Sox fan, I am appalled by the way this team is playing. So much talent is being wasted because of poor management and a lack of trying. I think I'm going to start following the Pirates again. At least they are supposed to suck. -
I agree that trading Mark doesn't make a lot of sense. Lock him up and give hin the five years he wants and deserves. $15 million a year would not be a bad investment in this guy.

I want to beleive that it is too soon to start talking about firing anybody or having a fire sale, but I don't have a lot of confidence in what I see out there. Ozzie seems to be losing it, or maybe it's always been gone and he's had better teams to work with in the past. Either way, Ozzie should go. We need a fresh start.

Do we even need to look at this year to see that Crede is not better than A-Rod? A-Rod had a decent year last year, but since he was a Yankee he got booed for playing only above average and not superbly.
