  1. "I'll tell you what, Stoney. Back when I was playing with the Carmines, I worked with a guy just like Burger. Quick hands, bald head, could hit a baseball. I said back then, this guy is going to be a star." Pause "Don't know what happened to him."
  2. Sox Twins Tigers Guardians Royals Sox end up winning the division by a decent margin, but it's close for most of the season.
  3. If you looked at this list of moves and didn't know any better, you'd think it was a list of moves by multiple teams. Can't quite figure out what the Twins are doing.
  4. Rodgers is a pretty damn good reliever. Good trade for both teams? Seems to weaken the Twins bullpen, though.
  5. We go to one game a year (the family and friends), and we always sit in the 300 level. We got tickets there once a few years ago and decided we'll always sit there. Agree 100% with everything you said. If it's just me and the wife or just me and one of the kids, we'll grab 100 or 500 level tickets. But with a group of 8-10 of us, it's so much better in the club level.
  6. I read Bad Blood, the story of Theranos, which the upcoming movie is based on. But since it's a true story I assume the show will be very similar. I enjoyed the first episode. Amanda Seyfried does a good job as Elizabeth Holmes.
  7. And I agreed with that. My point was that the $18M wasn't going to be spent on him, so we can't say "Instead of Rodon, we have players X, Y, and Z".
  8. I'm probably missing something, but I don't see this as a terrible signing. He looked decent last year, and the Sox only need him to pitch a few starts. And there's little to no risk if he's absolutely terrible in AAA. If he doesn't get brought up by May 15, he's gone and the Sox don't have to shell out the $4.2M. Truly a low risk, medium reward deal. I expect him to do well enough to be brought up and then pitch well enough to be the patch we need. The longevity of him pitching well could certainly be a concern, but that shouldn't (hopefully) be something we need to worry about. And can we stop talking about Rodon after every signing/trade? He wasn't going to accept the QO, so the $18M wasn't going to spent on him regardless. I get the loss of the draft pick, and that's a headscratcher, but Rodon would not be in a White Sox uniform right now unless the Sox offered him a deal similar to what he got.
  9. I have no problem with this. If he can pitch well enough to give us some decent innings to fill the gap until Lynn returns, that's all we need. I'm hoping/expecting him to outperform Keuchel. And, I just want to see him mess with hitters' timing with his on-mound shenanigans.
  10. My grade goes from D to B-. Still like to see one more SP added, but this trade really makes the off season look different.
  11. The rare move that is met by almost no negativity on SoxTalk. Now if they go out and get Manaea, SoxTalk may melt down with positive reaction.
  12. Yeah, I would think Vaughn and Sheets share time at DH depending on who is pitching. Same with Harrison and Leury. The top of the lineup is very RH heavy, though. Maybe swap Robert and Moncada. Regardless, better options with Pollock for sure.
  13. So... Anderson Robert Abreu Jimenez Grandal Moncada Pollock Sheets/Vaughn Harrison/Leury Or something like that. Lineup looks better, and the OF looks much better.
