  1. I like it. So...since TLR said his shit about fans wanting to upgrade the OF are not real fans, the Sox have acquired two outfielders. Maybe he should talk some shit about fans wanting another SP.
  2. I like the Graveman and Kelly additions. I'm okay with Harrison (I think he'll be more valuable than people think). I don't get the Kimbrel pick-up, especially now that it looks like he will not be traded. And not offering Rodon the QO is a major head-scratcher. The rest of the above referenced moves...meh. As of right now, the off season is a D.
  3. No, they're not. But Blue Moon is a safe go-to beer for me. Fat Tire is decent, too. But to call either craft beer is...inaccurate.
  4. Do we really expect them to do anything different? Sheets is playing in RF today. And when Vaughn gets back, his ass will be out there again.
  5. Since I have Hulu, I was offered to add Disney+ for $2.99 a month. I figured what the hell, might as well check it out. I had never had much interest in The Mandalorian, but I started watching it yesterday. Well, I'm hooked.
  6. I'm pretty sure that if Kimbrel is traded, he'll do well for his next team. But if he isn't traded, he'll suck. Isn't that how it always seems to happen?
  7. And Tony's first order of business is to fire Hawk Harrelson. When Tony is informed that Hawk is retired, he attempts to fire Steve Stone. Stone goes on a tirade during a broadcast and calls out Tony, demanding that they fight. The Sox set up a "7th Inning Stretch Loser Goes Home" Boxing Match during a game in May. The match is called a draw when both Tony and Steve dose off in their corners before the fight even starts.
  8. Kimbrel is not traded and ends up being one of the best inning 7-8 guys in baseball. Adolfo earns the RF spot and fairs well enough to be serviceable. Hits 20+ HRs with a relatively low BA and a lot of Ks. But his defense is solid. Joe Kelly beans Correa accidentally, and a brawl ensues. LaRussa gets involved and ends up with a broken hand. Moncada returns to 2019 form and leads all AL 3B in BA at the All Star break...but still isn't named an All Star. Eloy miraculously doesn't get hurt.
  9. I think they want him, but the money/years he wants and maybe his vax status are roadblocks...or at least speedbumps. I really thought he's have signed somewhere by now. I think his market is very limited, and he may end up having to take a shorter term deal.
  10. Over the top, gory, laugh out loud hilarious. It is truly the most fun show I've seen. John Cena is great as is the whole cast.
  11. I was thinking Engel's defense would counter-balance the defense of the other guys, resulting in an overall meh performance. If Engel can stay healthy and actually hit RH pitchers a bit, we'd be in better shape.
  12. I think the fact that the Sox haven't (and probably won't) sign Conforto to fill the known gap in RF is more frustrating than the production we'll get out of RF will be. There's a chance that a combination of Engel, Sheets, Vaughn, and Leury can give us decent production and overall average to slightly below average defense. If the Sox sign Conforto, we know who will be playing RF almost every day. If they don't, who the hell knows. It will be RF by committee, and the results will be spotty. Add to that, we'll have guys like Vaughn and Sheets who will be playing out of their natural positions, not really helping with their development. I've pretty much resigned myself to seeing the RF by committee, and we might be okay offensively, especially if some other guys perform well. It's just frustrating that there's a solution out there, and if he signs somewhere else, I don't see his contract being outrageous enough for us to say, "Good thing we didn't sign him." Maybe he chooses another team for other reasons like Wheeler did. Maybe it's his vax status holding things up. Or maybe the Sox end up looking like the team that had the best opportunity to improve and failed to do so.
  13. Seems like there must be a small market for Conforto. Could be what he’s looking for in a deal (years, money, or both) or his purported vax status. Or a combination there of.
  14. That would be great, but it seems unlikely. Is Bellinger the odd man out in LA? He still has two years of control, so I'd imagine the Sox might need to eat some of Kimbrel's salary.
  15. I wonder what team could be looking for a possible closer that would be willing to trade an outfielder.
  16. It's the Part 3 Ultimate Voodoo Dear Lord Do Something Before We Riot thread
  17. There have been almost no rumors around Conforto or Castellanos. They're going to have to sign somewhere soon. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the Sox are waiting to free up the Kimbrel money to go get Conforto. Wishful thinking, I know, but...
  18. Good points. And good for him in getting the money. It just seems a bit odd. My guess is that the Rockies' offer was by far the biggest.
  19. If the Sox only make one more significant move, would we rather see a trade for a SP (Manaea, Montas) or a signing of a RF (Conforto, Castellanos)?
  20. Lots of question marks about the decision by the Rockies, but I think Bryant's decision is more puzzling. Maybe no other team came close to that offer, but he didn't choose a team that is poised to be a perennial playoff threat. He'd have been better off going back to the Cubs. They'll have success quicker than the Rockies.
  21. SoxTalk: We need an outfielder! Just not Joc Also SoxTalk after Joc signs elsewhere: Why didn’t the Sox sign him!?
  22. Yeah, interesting omission. Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't.
