  1. I’ve thought that playing .500 ball for the remainder of the season gets them the division easily. I still think that’s true, but I’m getting more and more concerned that they won’t be playing .500 baseball.
  2. Making a habit of looking at strike 3 will do that.
  3. This team is just flat today. As they have been for a week.
  4. The Sox could conceivably be only 5 games up by Sunday night with the way the offense is playing. Need to get their shit together.
  5. The Sox addressed THE biggest issue they had by acquiring two nice bullpen pieces. The game is essentially locked down from the 7th inning on now. Kimbrel was the best relief pitcher available. He wasn’t going to be cheap. Had he gone somewhere else, 90% of this board would be screaming that the Sox could have beaten what the Cubs got. I like Madrigal, and he’ll be a good addition for the Cubs. But the Sox have Hernandez for 2022, and it’s a relatively easy position to fill with a good player.
  6. Absolutely love this. Hate to see Madrigal go, but 2B is one of the easier spots to fill, and Hernandez is controlled through next year.
  7. NSC saying the Sox could get Bryant or Kimbrel, but only in answering someone’s hopeful tweet. The Sox could certainly afford either, especially Bryant. But I just don’t see them pulling either off. I’m thinking one more bullpen move is more likely than anything else, but a minor move.
  8. Have Burger and Colas buy in, and you've got an instant money maker. Burger, Frys, and Colas - A Home Run of a Meal
  9. NSC also stated that the Sox continue to be active and to watch Baltimore. Sounds like he's repeating what others are saying (or they're repeating him).
  10. Two solid trades today. Tepara will help shore up the bullpen, and the price was dirt cheap.
  11. Nice improvement for 2B and it moves Leury back to what he should be - a super sub. Adds some much needed power the lineup. And there is an option for 2022, which give sthe team some flexibility.
  12. Would the Sox take on Blackmon to reduce the prospect cost? Ope...never mind. I see he’s signed through 2022 for A LOT.
  13. It's been relatively quiet so far this week, especially considering the number of teams selling and quite a few teams really needing an upgrade or two. This could be one of those deadlines when many trades happen on Friday. The Sox have been very quiet. I'm sure they're working on things, but it's concerning we're not even hearing rumors.
  14. If the Frazier trade is any indication, the price tag for a rental 2B shouldn't be bad at all. However, who knows what the FO would consider too steep.
  15. And Leury is making it really easy for the front office to add a 2B. There are enough options out there that would be an improvement over what he is providing right now.
  16. Eloy did not care for being disrespected.
  17. Cease has actually pitched pretty well. If a halfway decent offense was backing him up, he might be in the running for a win. Instead, the 3 runs (2 earned) look like 10.
  18. This team, overall, looks disinterested.
  19. Surprised they did not review that. Looked safe.
  20. Eloy is a better fielder than Goodwin.
