Huh. I wonder if the Sox were ever really in on him or if they just didn’t match up well with what the Pirates wanted. Seems like a light return.
-
Third player must be more impactful. Maybe?
-
Marcano is their #6 prospect. I don’t see JACK Suwinski in their top 30.
-
Hopefully this is the beginning of a busy week…and the Sox making some moves.
-
Interested to see who’s going to Pittsburgh. Couldn’t have been a cheap acquisition.
-
Lopez looked pretty good.
-
I’ve seen enough of Leury. I mean, really.
-
Yeah, I like Burger and Sheets, but both are extraneous on this team. They need better players now for the playoffs. For the right player(s), I’d happily trade either or both.

Regardless, the Sox are playing badly against a good team. Moncada’s boneheaded play is just part of a shitty game.
-
I don’t care if the umpire called him safe, he had to know he missed the plate. CYA and touch the plate “again”.
-
So fucking White Sox.
-
Still, Moncada has to step on the damn plate.
-
Are they playing the game under protest now? They should be.
-
Umpires look ridiculous right now.
-
Such bullshit.
-
He missed the plate, but they shouldn’t have been allowed to review the play after 2 minutes.
-
LaRussa is gonna be tossed again if they call him out.
-
Hopefully. The hole at 2B is becoming more evident every day with Leury and Mendick being exposed on a regular basis. It’s been so quiet on the trade front I’m starting to get nervous.

This team is bad on the road against good teams. I don’t care that they are up big over Cleveland. They need help beyond Eloy coming back soon. Hahn needs to be working the phones.

Blue Moon is a "safe" beer for me. I'm a huge craft beer fan and will usually try something new any chance I get. But, if I'm having some wings or a big steak for dinner, I'll happily order a couple Blue Moons to wash it all down. And it's one of those beers that is MUCH better on draft than bottled. I rarely buy it for the house.

Easy now with the Spotted Cow/Cubs hat correlation. Seriously, though, for me it's about the availability of Spotted Cow. It's a good beer that you can only get in Wisconsin, so there's something special about it when you're able to have a few. I might get Spotted Cow once or twice a year, and I really enjoy it. Maybe if I could always get it I'd feel differently. It's sort of like Yuengling, which is more available than Spotted Cow but not around here. If I'm out east, I always pick up a 6-pack or so. It's not a great beer, but again it's about how often I get to drink it.

The Tomorrow War on Amazon was really enjoyable. I liked it much more than I expected to. If you want a decent sci-fi flick with plenty of action, it's a winner.

We've been plowing through some 30 minute comedy/drama series lately. Ted Lasso on Apple+ is great. It's a feel-good sports comedy that sprinkles in some drama and plenty of foul language (which makes it more realistic). Season 2 starts tomorrow. Also on Apple+ is Trying, a British dramedy about a couple trying to adopt. It does a good job being a comedy while exploring the difficulties of adopting even while there are plenty of kids in the system. Crashing on Netflix is a fast-paced British comedy that fans of Fleabag would like. Phoebe Waller-Bridge created a frustratingly annoying but likeable character for herself. The show is probably not for everyone, but we really enjoyed it. And (not meaningfully advertising Apple+) Mythic Quest is one of the best comedies of late. It's essentially a workplace comedy that takes place at a video game developer. Great characters and plenty of laugh out loud moments. And seeing F. Murray Abraham play a drunk, politically incorrect, washed-up sci-fi writer is just fantastic.

There's a real chance Yermin would not have been called up again this season, especially with the success of Burger and Sheets and with Eloy coming back soon. I could see him deciding to call it quits, but it's a little sudden and dramatic. And as another poster said, no one except for Yermin knows why he decided to do what he did. We may eventually know, or he may return, or he may be traded to a team that could have him play every day. I think the most likely scenario is that we'll never know for sure and we'll be left with the memory of Yermin's one awesome month when he helped this team immensely.
