  1. Okay. Here comes the challenge for Hendriks. When did he pitch last?
  2. Neither, I suspect. They will continue to be streaky, and without some additions, it’s going to a tough go to keep Cleveland at bay.
  3. I get there are a lot of injuries, and therefore they’re playing the second and even third strings in some positions. They were probably playing above they’re level going into Houston. But this team just fell off a damn cliff. Soon to be 5 game losing streak with very little going right for them.
  4. Giolito is doing his part. Time for the offense to sack up.
  5. I think the Sox left their bats in Chicago. Piss poor performance tonight.
  6. The Sox looked bad this weekend, and the Astros are a good team. I'm not sure any of us would have thought they were cheating if they hadn't been caught, but it's hard now to think they aren't cheating. They never looked lost at the plate, never got fooled (except against Rodon). But, good-hitting teams will hit the baseball, especially when the pitching isn't great. And our pitching was pretty bad (again, aside from Rodon). If they're still cheating, they're doing a good job of hiding it. They have to be under a microscope, so the days of trash cans and monitors are over.
  7. I definitely think Yermin has to go down to Charlotte. He needs some time to fix his approach, and away from the big league club is where he should be doing that. I could see Burger being called up soon, but I would like to see him get steady playing time. That's not going to happen just against LHP, and he's not going to be playing 3B. I don't know if him playing 2B in Charlotte is a way to get him up to the Sox to play 2B. I'm not sure this is possible, as it's a pretty high-profile position (lots of action). Collins should be playing against RHP, whether it's as catcher or DH. Vaughn needs to continue to play almost every day. Give him a break once in a while against RHP, and let Lamb play. There are not many solutions available for the Sox right now. They are going to need to make a few moves to shore up the offense. Nothing huge has to go down, but adding a bat to help them get better against RHP has to be priority.
  8. National audience laughing at the Sox. And rightfully so. Terrible series.
  9. Swing the fucking bat. I’m so tired of watching these players put themselves in 0-2 holes.
  10. I hate when Cease pitches like this. Gets in his own head and either can’t throw strikes or gives up a bunch.
  11. Best record in baseball. With three starters missing. Today's win featured some different heroes (and zeroes). I don't understand Burr in the 10th, but he did his job. Marshall sacked up after shitting his pants in the 8th. Yaz with a HUGE hit at the end. Leury and Mendick continue to contribute. Jose found his bat. Vaughn and Collins big at the plate. It really is amazing how well this team is playing with what they're missing. Truly the sum is greater than its parts.
  12. Way more stressful than it needed it to be. We'll take the win and the series.
  13. Okay. Now they get to try it again. Runner on second nobody out. Let's fucking go.
  14. Leadoff double and he doesn't score. Ridiculous.
  15. About the only Twitter talk the Sox get outside of Sox Twitter is from Pitching Ninja.
  16. I was scrolling quickly by and thought this said "Andrew Vaughn owns your titties"
  17. Series win against the Rays would be huge. Go Sox!
  18. I don't see Vaughn going anywhere. He's hitting fairly well at the MLB level, and this is the best way for him to learn. Eaton to the IL and/or DFA'd would be more palatable, for me anyway.
  19. Keuchel has been great his last few times out, and yesterday he was really damn good. I think earlier in the season he was trying to finesse too much and didn't have the best feel for his pitches. He seems to be very comfortable on the mound now and is trusting his stuff. Way back before Eloy and Robert got hurt, who would have said, "Thank god for Adam Engel"? Well, thank god for Adam Engel. Leury had a nice game. His pick that started the DP was impressive for a guy who doesn't play a lot of 3B. A really nice team win.
  20. *checks calendar* Well, it's 2021, and the Rays have the best record in baseball. The banged up Sox with a patchwork OF and IF beat the aforementioned best team in baseball by playing a complete game led by some outstanding starting pitching.
