Burr has looked pretty good.

Swing the fucking bat.

Sox giving up at the plate.

Sox really need game 1. Not terribly confident about game 2.

Yoan is quietly having a damn good season.
-
He’s made a pretty nice career of being who he is. I imagine he’s been loved by every fan base.
-
I’m glad he’s on this team. He is just what they need.

Tannerfan is now Bannedfan.

I love Lance Lynn. Hope the Sox extend him.

Billy was just interviewed on NBC Sports. He sounds exactly like I expected.

These are bad ass. Not hesitating to buy one.

Yeah, I was hinting at the, if I remember correctly, Yearnin' and Squirmin' for Yermin. I'll admit I was skeptical of how good Yermin would be. He's been a pleasant surprise, even since cooling down after an incredible start. I don't think it's ridiculous to assume he'll end up being a .290 hitter with 25+ HRs. He'll come close to filling the offensive hole left by the late Eloy. And, as an added bonus, he pissed of LaRussa AND is still in the lineup every day.

Are we bored with winning? Only three posts in the winner thread 7+ hours after the game ended? Nice game from Cease. He still throws too many pitches, but he is getting better control of his stuff, which is outstanding. He seems to be getting a lot more comfortable with his breaking pitches and mixes them in nicely with his big fastball. The K to end the 6th was awesome, and we even saw a bit of a yell from the young man. Yermin must have been reading this board and saw the comments about him. He said, "I'll show you!" Then right before the HR (on a 3-0 count), he said, "This is for the two posters who have always believed in me!" Billy Hamilton with the go ahead and eventual winning hit. 'Nuff said. Bullpen covers three innings well. Very good to see. A nice win over a bad team. They need to sweep these guys out of town.

Cease truly is a new pitcher this year. Still throws a lot of pitches, but his confidence is remarkable and his use of breaking pitches is much improved.
-
We get pissed when pitchers give up one run in a game when the offense (aside from Yermin) is asleep. The starting pitching has been good, even very good. Offense needs to step the fuck up.

That was a nasty change.

Maybe Yoan should go up there without a bat.

Could you imagine Joe Buck as an umpire?

Yeah, heaping praise on Baez is...unwarranted. This was a horrendous defensive play. I mean, mind-boggingly bad. This kind of stuff happens in little league, and the runner isn't praised. The defender is mocked.

Ghost runner on second at the beginning of every inning. Pitchers must chug a beer after every strikeout. Pants are optional.
-
Or they could say that someone said that he was "on fire", and Kopech immediately stopped, dropped, and rolled.

Horrific web gem?

Eaton has to be due for an IL stint. If he does go to the IL, who comes up? Is Engel ready? Sheets?

I don't know how to answer this. Immediately I want to say ban all substances and enforce it. But that would be difficult...and quite revealing. I wonder how many pitchers use some sort of substance when pitching? Or maybe the better question is, who doesn't? I don't think approving one substance is the way to go. That would be the MLB admitting that substances are used, and I don't think they want to do that. I think right now, aside from hat cop Joe West, the issue is ignored. That's not saying pitchers can use substances, but it's not saying they can't either. Even with some sort of substance, it still takes incredible skill to pitch the way some of these guys do. Banning all substances might level the playing field a bit, but you're still going to have guys who can throw some nasty shit and others who can only throw straight as an arrow.

It's amazing that these max effort guys like Kopech don't get hurt more often. There are a ton of muscles, ligaments, bones, etc. that are stressed when a guy throws upper 90s along with biting breaking stuff. The conditioning for these guys has to be insane. Let's hope his hamstring is fine and he can go for the double header.
