  1. That was a nice inning. Time for Cease to keep the Rangers down.
  2. I’m not sure anyone would have predicted Dunning being chased from the game before Cease.
  3. Robert’s approach has been so good lately.
  4. Going to need more than 3 runs to feel comfortable.
  5. That wild pitch was huge now.
  6. Too bad he threw 3 innings worth of pitches in the 1st.
  7. Cease’s stuff is really good, but he has no idea how to use it.
  8. Rangers are helping by swinging at a lot of balls.
  9. I’ve grown quite tired of Cease and his maddening lack of control.
  10. The music swells as the Sox, one by one, walk to the dugout railing and begin a slow, deliberate clap for Dunning. Dane removes his cap and tips it to Madrigal, who, with tears on his cheeks, is lifted onto the shoulders of Abreu and Robert. Eloy makes a surprise appearance, and the crowd swoons.
  11. It's definitely Yermin's fault for having some negative vibes during Tuesday's game. Either TLR pulled him too early or too late.
  12. Good point. I was okay with trading him when there were discussions over the winter, mainly because he would have probably been the easiest to replace with a free agent signing (Yolmer Sanchez, I'm not looking at you). It'll be interesting to see how all those drafted around him are doing in another year or two. Maybe Madrigal ends up being the best pick for the Sox (based on needs and availability).
  13. This is where I have a problem with the determination of his value. I don't care if he hits home runs. That's not where his value is. His value is getting on base, or as happened last night, making contact and driving in/moving over runners. A player like Madrigal should be evaluated based on what his strengths should be. Not home runs or OPS or slugging. But, yes, he needs to improve on defense and baserunning. I can see the draft pick argument, but he's still a work in progress.
  14. My god this board can be toxic at times. It's like Madrigal is a complete bust.
  15. Can't wait for Nightengale's tweets that will be contradicted by other reporters.
  16. Both sides looked pretty bad last year when they fought over nonsense (from the fans' perspective) when there was a pandemic raging. I think they'll get it done and play 2022 as scheduled, but it will be ugly.
  17. Nice to see Abreu look like the guy we saw last season. Robert has been looking awesome lately. It seems like he has made some adjustments and is having much better at-bats. I'm sure we'll still see ups and downs, but I think the ups will be more plentiful. Aside from the home run and arrogant bat drop, Grandal had a bad day. I wonder if he was having some hand issues, or was it just a bad day? The two (!) catcher interference incidents make me think his head was not in the game. Carlos didn't have his best stuff, but he labored and put the team in a position to win. I'm really liking what I've seen of him so far in 2021. I didn't understand why Marshall threw 6 pitches and then didn't some back out. That move almost backfired, as Bummer, Crochet, and Heuer struggled. Nice to see Hendriks with the 3 pitch save, though. Finally, I liked the Mercedes move. If he was getting into his own head, TLR made the right decision. I just wish that decision hadn't involved putting Leury in the game.
  18. Grandal forgot how to catch today.
