He has shown flashes of being a very good pitcher. But I think you hit it on the head: He seems afraid or tentative to throw. I do think a lot of his issues are mental. He needs to stay out of his own head.

I agree 100%. However, because we're so excited about this team is why we are even more excited about the future. My son and I were made fun of terribly by my wife and daughter (and others) when we were saying 2020 is going to be the beginning of the window for the Sox. I don't know how many times I heard, in a mocking voice, "2020!" over the past year. Now here we are, and this team is even better and more exciting than we thought. It's hard not to think about what this team will be like in 2021, 2022, and beyond. I'm having more fun watching baseball now than I have in years, and it's really cool knowing this feeling isn't going away any time soon.

He's been better than we think because he almost always makes it interesting (in a bad way). But, he doesn't blow many saves and maintains his composure out there. He does give the Sox the best chance to win when they're leading right now. That being said, I don't see them spending a lot to keep him since there are some young arms that could be developed into closers. If, however, he can be had cheap, maybe we'll see him for another season or two. I suspect another team to pay him more, though.

With Lopez's issues and Cease's intermittent issues, Dunning is very valuable to this team. He's shown that he can go out and give you 5 strong innings, striking out a bunch of guys. As he gets stretched out and is allowed to throw more pitches, he might get 6 innings. Being a strikeout pitcher means he'll throw more pitches anyway. Beyond 2020, I think he easily fits in as the #3/#4 starter on this team. His stuff is nasty with so much movement coupled with his great control. He doesn't need the big fastball.

The White Sox team of the past few years loses this game big. This 2020 team is really something special. I don't know how to act watching meaningful, exciting baseball every day.

No issue with having Yolmer there. He's a much better option that Goins.

I'm okay with no moves. If Lynn wasn't traded, Texas was asking too much. It would have been nice to have one more SP, but not if it would have cost too much of the future.

On a side note, I haven't got a lot of work done today.

In their defense, they haven't really talked much about it. There has been plenty of rumors that they've looked at pitchers, but much of what we're going off of is speculation.

Bucket must love reading the board, dropping a somewhat cryptic post, then watching the board get worked into a frenzy. We all trust bucket, so hopefully this is good news.

One of the busiest teams at the trade deadline in a long time. I wonder what they had to give up. Their farm system has already taken quite a hit.

Let's see who else they shipped out.

I expect a trade to happen today, and I think the Sox will land a starting pitcher. There seems to be some noise around more than one player being acquired, and I would't mind seeing an outfielder or bullpen piece joining the team. Purely my speculation, but Morrow might be the most likely and Clevinger the least likely. However, I won't be shocked if it's a pitcher we haven't really discussed.
