As much as everyone wants to blame Ventura (and rightly so, for the most part), this is not a team that a good manager can salvage. They don't make any contact, they have relatively little speed, they can't play any defense, and the pitching seems like it could run hot and cold with guys like Floyd, Axe, Quintana. You can second-guess Ventura all you want, I doubt it would make any difference with a team playing this bad.

The lord's mercy. You can't have your cleanup hitter needing multiple hot streaks throughout the season just to get to .200. With guys like him, Flowers, Viciedo being all feast or famine, you can't possibly expect any sort of offensive consistency.

I voted 10 times for ya. Anybody who would leave their prom date for the Sox deserves something like this. Hopefully all the crappy Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, and Cardinals fans don't trounce this democratic process.

That all sounds so very depressing. Trading Floyd for a bad catcher who would play part time. Then using the money they save on Floyd to acquire a platoon player to pair with Morel. God, I hope this is a worst case scenario from a columnist whose rarely right

I can't imagine the Sox being able to afford AJ with Napoli getting that kind of money at 31
