Well, when you haven't made the playoffs in 4 years, negativity starts to come out.
-
yeah, I forgot about everett and I don't count Schoe because its 100% that he won't be back.
-
I'm choosing Valentin and I know most of you will curse at me for putting Thomas on but hey, some of us don't like him and feel it might be best for him and the team to part ways. I put Perez on because many of us feel he's lazy and he only hit .246
-
yeah and we don't need any of minnysox's disgusting little comments either. :puke
-
Well, I have kept trying and still I suck with the lasso tool. P.S. MinnySoxfan that was f***ing gross, joke or not.
-
where can you download it from?
-
Those statistics are even, I knew that befor I posted but you can see that Lee's are slightly better and he makes less money, so why not keep him.
-
I just am learning Adobe Photoshop and I have a few questions. 1) I think its awfully hard to use the magnetic lasso tool. I use that to trim images I get off the internet for my sigs but it never comes out good. Does anyone have any tips? 2) How do you get good base backrounds for your sigs. I see some of your sigs and I can't figure out how you get them. 3) How many layers do you guys usually use on your sigs. 4) One more question, how do you get a picture from the internet onto the base of your sig after you render it the way you want?

Is Jacque Jones a FA, I didn't see his name on the FA list but everybody keeps talking about him like he's available. If he is, it should be our top priority to try and sign him, he's a grinder. He's ahving a bad year and should come at a cheaper cost.
-
Well, from seeing these contracts, I see a few problems with this organization and our thinking as fans. The first thing is that Paul Konerko will be making more money next year then Carlos Lee. Even though its only about $750,000, Its insane that Konerko is making more then Lee. Lee is younger(by a few months), cheaper, and has had more production then Konerko. The new chisox should be about getting on base, and Konerko doesn't do it enough. Therefor Konerko should be the obvious choice to trade away. Its not that Konerko's OBP is worse, its that damn double-plays that he has hit into his whole career. I think lee is the better choice to hold onto. The other thing is that Jose Contreras is making way too much money next year. 6 Million dollars for his production is ludicrous. If there is anyway to trade him away to clear some salary, I believe would be great. Because Contreras is nothing more then a 4th Starter and 6 Mil is too much. Its the same with Garland. The other thing is Politte is also making too much at 1.3 mil, his production has not lived up to his salary.

I don't think its such a good idea to spread them out over a long period of time because it would kind of take away the glamour of the soxtalk elections, Second, if its spread out, people will lose interest and forget about voting. If it quick and blunt, we will be able to get the maximum # of voters. Also, I need more people to start posting ideas and comments on my preliminary categories and nominees as well as my "best game" category. If we don't get people to start replying then we're just going to have to go with what I have and you guys won't get to imply with what you want. it sucks because I want everybody to be a part of it and if no one gives replies then we will be losing out on some good ideas from others.

He has absolutely no chance 1- Look what they did to Matsui last year and quite frankly, Matsui's rookie year was a hell of a lot better then Shingo's. 2- I would choose Crosby over him anyway because he is a shortstop and a hitter who has really helped their team now that Tejada is gone. I would also probably choose Madrisich over him because it is probably the hardest thing to do, to come in as a rookie starting pitcher and be as succesful as he has.

Signing Carlos Beltran would eat up our payroll like guys like Magglio, Konerko and Valentin have done for the past few seasons. I don't want one great player I want many good and average players. I want players who could do things that no one on our team can do right now. I want base stealers, I want guys who take pride in their fielding, and I want guys who can hit in the clutch. Its not about getting big names and spending big money, just tell the yankees that. You will though, need a starter. Maybe not a frontliner but someone who can give some support to Buehrle, Garcia, and Contreras. I think we will need someone who is better then Contreras though. Its nice to have a true ace, but It won't hurt you that much.
-
Bad Idea I think they should trade Konerko, but then get some good role players with speed, a good glove, and some clutch hitting. The bigger money should be spent on a front-line starter and maybe a closer. You all know who I want in the rotation. P.S. Let Maggs and Valentin go.
-
I chose Jeter over Bonds, because no one, in my opinion can do what Jeter has done and what Jeter always does. He's the most clutch and most valuable player on the best team in baseball. That play against Oakland summarizes his whole career.

I don't know if this is a local or national commercial but you guys have to see it. It advertises Lang Auto Insurance and it has an unbelievably hot girl washing the car of the owner of the Insurance Company. At the end she goes, "I washed your car, can I have my car insurance now? he says here you go! It might be the most shallow commercial I have ever seen, but the girl is hot! If anyone can find snapshots of this commercial on the net, let me know. The commercial clearly shows all the flaws with this world and points out all the shallowness that we accpet and abide by. it doesn't matter to me though, i don't kind watching the commerical.

SOXTALK AWARDS DATE!!! The awards are set for Thursday, October 14th; Friday, October 16th; Saturday, October 17th. Its set for those days and the final results will be presented on that sunday.

Maybe its not being shallow, I guess its just jealousy. It's been too long since our team has one anything or been cared about by anyone who is not a White Sox fan. I guess I'm a little jealous, but I can care less where the hell they celebrate, they deserve to celebrate because they kicked our asses. I guess why I'm not so mad at them is because they did it the right way, by building up their farm system with great scouting. They didn't buy their way to the playoffs every year. Sometimes it gets sickening though, when every player they produce does well. Ex) Brad Radke, Torii Hunter, AJ Pierzynski, Johan Santana(Even though he was signed by Houston), Corie Koskie, Jessie Crain, Jacque Jones, Kyle Lohse, Lew Ford, Matt LeCroy, Michael Cuddyer, Doug Mientkiewitz, Eric Milton, Joe Mays, Joe Mauer, Juan Rincon, Cristian Guzman. The list goes on and on. They spend more money on scouts and farm directors then they do on salries for players.

There is no way to prove which pitcher is a better option then another pitcher, I've said that before, but you can give estimations on how a player will do based on reputation, statistics, AND your own opinions and observations of that pitcher. I've seen a lot of Eric Milton and plenty of Russ Ortiz on TBS and Turner South, and in my opinion, I liked what I have seen from Milton, bad statistics of not. Frankly, i'm not a big Russ Ortiz fan and have always thought that he was overrated. It's easy to see that most of you hate Eric Milton because he was a Twin. You could see that Milton has much better #'s in the posteseason then Ortiz does. ( Milton Postseason Stats: 1-0, 3 Games, 2 GS, 1.65 ERA, 16.3 INN, 13 H, 3 ER, 3BB, 9 K) (Ortiz Postseason Stats: 3-1, 8 Games, 8 GS, 5.05 ERA, 41 INN, 44 H, 23 ER, 24 BB, 26 K) You guys have to know that some statistics lie, some are true, but some still lie. From seeing both of these pitchers a fair number of times, it is my opinion that Milton is the guy that i would choose to go after.

You can say whatever you want and provide the wackiest statistics in the world (I don't know how the hell you know that and quite frankly it scares me that you do know). Anyway like I said, I want the White Sox to get Ortiz just to show you what kind of pitcher he really is. For the sake of the White Sox, get Milton.

All right, here we go: I think no matter whether we win or lose, a great game is a great game. I'll refer to the Twins game that I posted; Yah we lost a heartbreaker on that game, but there was no other game during the year that I thought was more exciting. When Timo Perez beat out that drag bunt, I thought that was the best play I had seen all year, and then when Valentin made that error, I mean you just couldn't write a more impelling script. Do you think Boston fans didn't think that the game on July 1st was bad becuase they lost. C'mon people, I don't like negativity towards the Sox either, but give me a break. Virtually the whole year was one of negativity. We didn't make the playoffs, I'm not about to color a beautiful picture here for this team. I'm gonna be fair. As for the Montreal game, yeah we cam eback and made it a game, but that game to me, defines how bad are minor league system is with Arnie Munoz giving up 10 ER. It was a good effort by the team, but the next day on these boards do you think anyone cared, we were all talking about how bad Arnie and our Minor League System is.

Okay, here is a rough draft for the best game: Opening Day- April 5th, -Royals 9-White Sox 7- The White Sox blow a huge lead on opening day and are saddled with a tough loss. April 20th, Yankees 11- White Sox 8, In a rain-filled, Slip-N-Slide, Mark Buehrle gave up 8 runs in the first 2 innings, but the White Sox mounted a comeback, capped by Paul Konerko's 3-Run HR and Aaron Rowand's 2nd Home Run of the season. The White Sox fell short on their comeback but Ozzie Gillen never felt prouder of his team after their effort in this April classic. April 25, White Sox 6- Devil Rays 5, The White Sox score 3 in the 9th to beat the Devil Rays. Kelly dransfeldt provided a game tying RBI single, scoring Ross Gload. Lance Carter walked in Juan Uribe to give the win to the White Sox. April 28th- Cleveland Indians 8- White Sox 9, Chicago scores 5 in the ninth to come back and defeat the Indians on Sandy Alomar Jr.'s game-winning sacrafice fly. April 14th, White Sox defeat KC Royals 10-9. Billy Koch blws the save but the White Sox score 2 in the ninth to defeat the Royals on Joe Crede's RBI single. June 22nd, White Sox 11- Indians 9 (10 Innings) After a set of Bullpen failures, an 8-Run lead blown, and a terrible outing by Esteban Loaiza, Jose Valentine single-handedly carried the White Sox on his back with a 4-5 and 5 RBI performance, capped by the game winning 2-Run HR. July 4th- It was July 4th and their were fireworks in this game. For the whole night Glendon Rusch shut down the White Sox battered offense, but in the 9th inning, no one could stop Carlos Lee from giving the city of Chicago some 4th of July fireworks. He put the White Sox on the board with his solo home-run that tied the game at 1. The White Sox would lose the game in the bottom of the ninth on Damaso Marte's game-losing walk, but no one could deny how exciting the game was. July 24th, White Sox 7- Tigers 6, Whe down as far a 6-2 in the game, the White Sox staged a comeback with home-run's from Paul Konerko and Jose Valentine; but no one could prepare us for what would happen in the ninth inning off Ugeth Urbina. Joe Crede hit a game-winning homerun, his fourth game-winner of the season. July 28th, Twins 5-White Sox 4, In a game of mistakes for both teams, the Twins pulled out a nailbiter against their rivals. Justin Morneau had 2 falty home-runs called back. In the 7th Inning, with the white sox trailing 4-3, Chicago quickly put runners on base with no one out but Juan Uribe and Jose Valentine made base-running blunders. When the inning and future of the game looked grim for the White Sox, they loaded the bases back up in the 7th. With 2 outs, Timo Perez put down a drag bunt down the first base line. He beat it out and everyone was safe off JC Romero. The score was tied going into the 10th. Shingo was pitching into his 2nd inning of the game. with 2 outs and runners on 2 and 3rd against Shingo Takatsu, Jacque Jones lofted a ball into the air in foul territory, Jose Valentine dropped the ball on an attempted running catch. With the White Sox giving Jacque Jones an extra out, he executed and looped an RBI single, scoring Christian Guzman for the game-winner. We're going to need to narrow these down to 5.

I guess I fell for that one

You can't honestly say that the twins have more power then the white sox so the amount of homers that go out in the parks is swayed and inaccurate. Also the minnesota twins have far better piching with radke and santana then the white sox do so road teams have less home runs in the homer dome.
