If he is moderatly successful this year in the 2-hole, then why wouldn't you put him there next year to start the season?
-
Well, at least Oakland hasn't seen Diaz yet. i think Cleveland saw him about 4 or 5 times. With his stuff, if he is seen more then once by the same team, we are in trouble. Oakland isn't that good of a hitting team either. Here is the line for Diaz that I predict: 5 2/3 INN, 6H, 3ER, 1BB, 3K The sox are leading 5-4 in the ninth, but Shingo blow it and costs us the game. It seems he can't go even one inning without giving up a run lately.

Look at Carlos Lee last year. In the early months of the season, Lee was terrible, i think he was hitting about .230 or .240. When Jeery M put him in the 2 hole, Lee went on fire. His power #'s and his average sky-rocketed, leading him to a career year. Now granted, Borchard doesn't have the speed that Lee has, but who cares. We are out of it anyway, so does it matter whether we have the best lineup possible. Ozzie has to satrt experimenting on this team for next year. Right now, Borchard is in the 7 or 8 hole, surrounded by Ben Davis and Joe Crede. i think it might be easier to be surrounded by Willie Harris, Carlos Lee, and Paul Knoerko. Maybe he gets more fastballs and puts them into the stands, you never know, so why not try.
-
If he knows he's gonna get a lot of fastballs, then he should be ready and able to catch up to them. Also, you cannot have a guy who can hit a ball 504 ft. batting in the 7 or 8 hole. How much sense does that make?
-
I don't know if this would work but I would like to see Joe Borchard hit in the #2 hole for the rest of the year. I know his speed isn't that good, but I'd like to see him have protection in the lineup with Konerko and Lee(when he gets back) This way Borchard can get some fastballs to hit and maybe hit some into the stands some more. Its a lot better then having Ben Davis and Joe Crede as protection.

I haven't seen Baj pitch, but could someone tell me what kind of stuff he throws. What pitches and the velocity on his fastball. I'm sick of these bums who come up with junk stuff. its good enough to be successful in AAA, but not in the big leagues. I'd like to see this guy throw about in the mid 90's.

Who I would want- SP- Eric Milton RP- Steve Kline SS- Orlando Cabrera OF- Jacque Jones In a trade: Octavio Dotel
-
It'll really suck for you guys if this team falls out of it. I'm prepared to take the loss. This team has done to us fans many times before.
-
who thinks we should either give cotts or Stewart a chance to take that 5th starter spot. I'm saying those two instead of Diaz because their both lefties.
-
Yeah your exactly right, Radke he's not that good, you know he has just been an ace for years now and one of the most successful pitchers from the mid-90's to the present day. Thats really showing your intelligence. Wow if we had a series against them and it was Radke against Loaiza, I really think we would have a good chance. Yeah because Radke never pitches this good and Loaiza won twenty games one year and now his ERA is a very nice 4.8. We've got a great shot.
-
thats the whole problem you idiots. People who come here feel its fine to fail. There is no pressure on any of them. You know what if Loaiza is terrible then he goes to the bullpen. Now he knows for the rest of the year that he doesn't pitch well he's gonna be stuck in there. I want guys from the FA market that don't see failing as an option. Some of the guys on this team see it as a fallback plan.

Regarding the expos, their fans are smart. That team is being removed from Montreal so why should anyone go to the games. They no their team sucks and they no that their team has no future.(At least not in Montreal) Thats why nobody goes to the games. To say that they stick by their team is ludicrous. I stick by this team, but their is only so loyal you can be. I've seen this same song and dance with this team for years now. Every year I'm tricked into believing that this team has a real shot to win the world series. This year they tricked me into believing that a new manager would make a difference. Where is the difference? Its the same exact thing as last year.

I'm beginning to dislike you Tony. Your not the conscience of the White Sox as you think you are. Pasqua has a point. You have to know how good your team really is. If KW can pull off a few trades and improve this team then hey, why not go for it. I personally don't think its gonna happen though. It seems as though in KW's tenure, as the trade deadline gets closer and closer, he goes further and further into his hole where he hibernates until the offseason.

I've had enough of his pig ass. Get him out of that f'ing rotation and put his ass in the bullpen. Are you telling me Neal Cotts can do any worse then him. I'm sure Neal can throw an 87 MPH fastball in Torri Hunter's kitchen. Hell even I could do that.
-
is that a threat
-
You came at my post and I came at your sig, theres no problem with that. If you want to put down someones posts, then be prepared to take it right back.
-
I'm not trolling for a fight, but I should be able to post whatever I want about the whitesox here if I'm a member and not have to be ridiculed for it just because I said something negative or realistic. Not everybody can be a romantacist.
-
I gotta say Southsider, you have to change your sig. How you would think that this rotation is by any means dangerous just means you know nothing about baseball. The fact that you think Scott Schoenweis, Esteban Loaiza and Jon Garland represent any kind of danger to any opposing batter just shows how little you know about baseball.
-
I would stop, but I need my daily laugh as I read Qwerty's idiotic posts.
-
Congratulations! You and southsider just won the idiot of the year awards! If we win the division, hell had frozen over. Its not happenin with this team. As for southsider, that quote shows your intellingence. "Quitting on this team" How do you quit on something that you don't belong to. The last I checked, Reinsdorf wasn't paying me to belong to the Chicago White Sox. Thats a pretty gay statement to make. Believe me, if they win the division, I'll do you guys a favor and never post here again, I'll leave it to you idiots to give out your pointless drivel that you spill out everyday about how great this team is. I might not be the most loyal Chisox fan out there, but I am the most realistic. P.S. For everybody out there who blames everything on Jerry Reinsdorf, I have a couple of words of wisdom for you. When you come onto these boards and complain about how all of Reinsdorfs money never goes to the team, theirs a simple solution, DON'T GO TO THE GAMES! Reinsdorf is never going to put the necessary money into the team so why in the hell would you keep giving him yours. Boycott the games and watch them at home. Stop giving him your money which he pockets for himself. The moronic notion that if you spend more at the games and give more money, that he will put more into the team is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
-
Like I said, you can deny whats ultimately going to happen for as long as you want, but when they don't make the playoffs, you guys should be the last people on this board bad mouthing them.
-
thats just what I thought people would say about this piece. Wow I can't wait to see the White So in the playoffs this year!
-
I've been posting this same statement for awile now, and here it comes again: SAME OLD WHITESOX! Whats the difference between Jerry Manuel and Ozzie Guillen, this is the same team as last year. They get hot for a little while and everyone starts talking world series. I have some news for you people; this team isn't even going to the playoffs. It s just like last year and who the f*** cares about the farm system. Everyone who has come up from it sucks anyway, they can get rid of honel, mccarthy, sweeney and anderson for all I give a s***. Look at it; Munoz, Diaz, Borchard, Rauch, Crede. The farm system is nothing to care about. You have to fire the scouting system and get some new people in their. I've said that numerous times on these boards. Tje team needs to be revamped because this structure over here just isn't gonna win. I would love to see Ken Williams fired. I thought he should have been originally when he got the wrong guy for James Baldwin. No playoff appearances since his dumbass has been in charge. I like his efforts to obtain players but these guys never win. In 2000 things were different. Look at the pitching staff. Young arms like Parque, Sirotka, and Baldwin led the team to the playoffs. What happens in the offseason, they are all having arm surgery from misuse. Look at Damaso Marte this year, his ERA is in the 3's now because he has been used everyday for the last 2 years. It doesn't matter whether Jerry Reinsdorf will spend the money or not, it wouldn't matter, the whole team needs to be overhauled. Maybe a rebuilding is whats needed for this team to show heart and determination like the twins. They should focus on defense and pitching to win games, not the homerun. If anyone actually responds to this piece, I know what your gona say. Your over recacting or relax or even your an idiot. Well you can say that about this writing but you know what; optimism is no longer necessary for this team. They don't deserve it. You people can keep thinking it was just one loss, but in the long run of things its a continuing pattern of losing. Last year was the same thing, a key series lost to the twins and everybody said it was just one series, but did the eam make the playoffs?NO! Are they going to make the playoffs this year, NO!
-
Its true, we did sweep them at the metrodome but guess what, coming into this series we were still in 2nd place. Thats pretty sad. Same thing as last year only with a different manager.
-
Garland and Crede have been big disappointments this year. It seems as though the organization and this website has had all they can handle of these two. I'm telling you though, to not give up on them yet. For Crede, look at Adrian Beltre, he was a huge bust and all of a sudden he is one of the best hitters in the league. it takes time and patience. This is only Crede's 2nd full season in the big leagues. As for Garland, he is only 24. Because he was brought up so early, many believe he is some sort of veteran. A lot of pitchers in this league don't even make it to the big leagues until they are 25. He is still a young kid and the talent is there for him to be a very good pitcher. I hope that the organization doesn't trade either one of them this year of any year in the future because they are going to be great players in this league.
