  1. Pitching and defense is what's gonna win it in the playoffs. WE can't go into the playoffs with Este as our #3 starter. You saw what he did in those crucial games in september against the twins. He absolutely stunk. I have no confidence in him in the playoffs. I do however, think that Joe Crede is inline for a big last two months. It only takes one game to get you going. If we get a guy like Benson or even Miguel Batista, I feel confident that those guys can give us quality starts in the postseason. Batista has the experience and Benson has the stuff. One or two arms out of the bullpen is a must. I would like a guy like Guardado and Mota, but now I'm dreaming. Those two would put us IMO in better shape with our bullpen then QuanGorMo in NY.
  2. I think we need him, I am very worried about Loaiza. It seems as though last year was a fluke. He has been are worst pitcher as of late. We also can't have Schoe staying in out rotation for the rest of the year.
  3. That was a great outing tonight by MB, he was dominant. Anyway, I was watching BBT and Peter Gammons mentioned all of the contenders for Kris Benson's services and I was shocked that the chisox weren't in it. I've watched this guys last few starts and he has looked unbelievable. His stuff looks great and that breaking ball he has is nasty. It looks like the twinkies are possibley the fron-runners in the Benson sweepstakes. KW can not let them get him. He would definitely solidify the rotation and then...finally...I will be satisfied with the pitching. Maybe not, we still need bullpen help, but the rotation would be as solid as anyone. We would have Buehrle, Garcia, Benson, Loaiza and Garland in the rotation. Cotts would go down to AAA and Schoe would work in the bullpen.
  4. The LA Daily news reported that the Dodgers are likely to trade Mota before the deadline. I know KW was interested in him in the offseason. He is definitely a guy to go after. You can keep Shingo as the closer and have Mota be the right-handed set-up man.
  5. Right now, I gotta go with Willie Harris over Uribe right now. It seems as though willie is swinging the bat better and has become a little more patient at the plate. Now if he could only steal a little more often.
  6. I'd rather have Flash Gordon over Shingo anyday
  7. Are they warming up yet? This sucks. Its the windy city, not the rainy city.
  8. This isn't about losing the game, even if we would have ended up winning this in the 10th inning, I still thought that Shing has been more hittable as of late.
  9. I don't know what it is but since the Cleveland series, Shingo has looked more hitable then he has been, I think It finally came to a head tonight in that 2nd inning he pitched. I love what he did the first 2 months and I hope he can get back to that.
  10. Poor Willie Harris, lost his starting job for going into a slump. This sucks, I thought Willie would be our leadoff hitter for years to come.
  11. I like Adkins and I thinks he should just get a few more chances to prove how good he is.
  12. You know what if he put Adkins in and he chocked the lead, (which I doubt he would have) then you know he cant be trusted, we already know that Jackson can't be so whats wrong with Adkins and his sub 3 ERA. Shing go gave up a run anyway.
  13. Slapshot was my favorite, no one giving any love for hockey
  14. In the ninth inning, up by 4 runs against the twins. Why doesn't Ozzie just save Shing, who pitched yesterday for tommorow if we need him in a save situation. I think i have seen action jackson come in more times then adkins who has been one of our best relievers. In order for him to get better, he needs more experience. C'mon Ozzie, start to use the kid.
  15. Yeah, no need to apoligize dude, this site is awesome and your a huge part of it. Keep up the good work on this growing web site.
  16. Trading with San Diego does make sense. The only way I would do it though is for Jake Peavy. That guy is a stud and his latest mound sessions, he is said to be feeling "outstanding" thats a good sign. Mybe put Nady in the deal as well. Even Trevor Hoffman.
  17. The deal makes sense in one way: We probably won't be able to sign maggs in the offseason and Andruw is signed through 2007. The reason I don't like it is because right now with the addition of a quality pitcher in Garcia, this team looks pretty good. I don't want Kenny to screw up our bats by bringing in someone new and getting rid of our best hitter for the last 5 years. Right now, when Magglio comes back, you know he's comfortable in Chitown and you know he's gonna hit once he gets healthy. His bat alone with the addtion to the pitching staff should soar us into the playoffs. You don't know how Andruw is gonna respond when he comes to Chicago. he's no having a good year and it might take too long for him to get into a rhythm here. I don't know if a major, blockbuster deal is what this team needs. I think I have one possible conclusion for kenny's new win-now philosophy. Could his job security be in limbo at the end of the year if this team doesn't make the playoffs. So far his deals haven't exactly worked out for the most part and his luck here in Chicago could be running out if he can't propel this team into the playoffs. This might force him to give up the farm for players he needs to win now. Just a theory though. Kenny, If you want to get this team to the playoffs, just get some more bullpen help, send cotts down to AAA and make him start down there, put Schoe in the bullpe where he belongs, and bring in a decent LH pitcher to help us in the rotation.
  18. just because I didn't say that he was my favorite player in my profile doesn't mean I didn't like him. I thought he would be our catcher for years to come. I saw his hitting come around and I can always remember his first at-bat. (Home Run off Andy Pettite) Olivo was my boy!
  19. yeah but look what Sidney Ponson did last year. The only difference is (and its a big difference) Sidney Ponson was traded from a terrible team to a contender in the Giants. I don't know, I just want him back.
  20. This maaybe too far into the future and a lot can change from now, but does anyone have a clue when this guy becomes a free agent. I would think the white sox would have a good chance to sign him back but he probably is allowed to leave seattle in like 2007. I would just love to have this guy wear a chisox uniform again, I think the organization would do anything for him to return. PLEASE BRING BACK OLIVO
  21. See this is good, now we have a dilemma over who to choose when Schow comes back, Diaz or Rauch, and for the first time, both made their cases to start. Probably Rauch but I still think Diaz is the one with the best stuff.
  22. Maybe that idiot kenny williams should get someone to replace this fat, old s*** first before getting that bum Russ Ortiz
  23. No faith needed, their playing like s***. I think it was about this time last year when annualy they hit a huge funk, thats the white sox way. You got to love it!
  24. What a bust Garland has been these years. It looks like he'll have a breakout year and then he comes out and is having a worse year then last season. But that crappy defense sure did let him down.
  25. Rauch pitched his ass off against a good team? Are you kidding me, he was in trouble the whole time, we should be thanking Aaron Rowand, not Jon Rauch, the big freak looked the same against the tribe as he did against the angels and you guys were all on him that day because he pitched like crap so come on, give me a break, he pitched his ass off, you've got to be kidding me. Thats a pretty idiotic statement to make.
