  1. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 09:58 PM) I feel better about Anderson than Beckham An extension could prove to be a great move right now for the White Sox. It helps Anderson get paid now, but also makes sure that he is cost controlled for the foreseeable future I like Timmy Anderson, but anyone who says that they feel better about him than they did about Beckham after his rookie year is lying. I remember everyone on this board creaming in their jeans when Harold Reynolds listed him as a future HOF'er during Spring Training that next year.
  2. I'd like to have Reed in a deal with Houston. Love to add some legit power to the lineup.
  3. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) The Yankees farm system is so stacked. I could see them being an excellent team in 3-4 years at this rate coupled with a few free agent signings They don't have the pitching. Truthfully, I think they have enough bats to compete this year, but their pitching is so bad that it doesn't matter. Quintana makes sense for them. I just don't think a trade can work out. The Sox would need Torres in a deal like that and I don' think the do it. They would prob offer Judge/Rutherford and I don't think Hahn accepts that either.
  4. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Would anyone do Q for Clint Frazier & Torres? I think you would take that. Having said that, I'd like to get a hold of Bird.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) Our only trade deadline addition was a New Trier kid. The new director of player development a former Michigan student. All Hahn needs to do is add a Harvard Law grad somewhere in the org and he's covered most of his alma maters. Meet Jeremy Haber, your Chicago White Sox Assistant GM. The Genius who picked Todd Steverson: http://today.law.harvard.edu/hls-student-j...pundit-contest/
  6. QUOTE (jamesdiego @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 05:52 PM) They just had the wrong blue. They should switch out the green for dark blue seats, that'll sure bring in the fans. Or maybe switch to various human colored seats. Then it would appear that people are sitting in the empty seats. If JR listened to most of his team's fans, he would sell both franchises that he's running into the ground. I think he just listens to his buddies who have proven not to know how to run his team's. And he sure listens to his accountants as well. If the Yankees have a problem, what the hell do we have? All I know is they have guys like Bird, Judge, Gregorious, Sanchez, Austin, not to mention talent in their reserves such as Frazier, Torres, and Mateo. I'd love to have their problems as opposed to ours.
  7. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) This team is fast becoming the Oakland Raiders of the MLB if they aren't already. Then mission accomplished! Being GM of the Raiders has always been KW's dream job.
  8. Like the trade. Stays consistent to this new emphasis on valuing production (baseball players) over tools (athletes).
  9. Coats has needed time at each level to adjust. If given the chance, he could be a very solid 4th OF.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) What could we realistically get for Sale, Q, Robertson, Melky, Frazier, Lawrie? You honestly trust this management team to get ANYTHING for these guys? In a perfect world, hahn, kw, and the scouts would be fired this offseason and the new management team could trade those guys
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) Add Robertson to the list of guys who is OK, not exceptional. Wow. What a headache of a team. I wonder if the Sox finally will have a complete firesale this year trading everybody except Q and Sale and maybe Abreu. Definitely start shopping Melky, Lawrie, Robertson, Jones, Avi, Frazier and both catchers and see what you can get. Somebody might go for Robertson and Melky and Frazier for starters. I'd be more inclined to watch if they did. I'd be more intrigued by watching the unknown than by the trash out there now.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) Today has to be the day boys! Let's get this party started. Absolutely no way they keep him now. nope. should have been a long time ago Anyway, Id feel a lot better knowing Hahn, KW, Bell, scouts, and minor league instructors were being fired. RV is a terrible manager but noting will truly change until everyone else is gone
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) His fastball has been garbage this year. Another player Cooper definitely had get worse under him. trade him. why does this team need a 31 year old closer?
  14. I want an organization that builds through it's farm system. I cringe every time we acquire another veteran. I wanna wake up one day and see everyone has been relieved of their duties. I wanna see new minor league instructors being hired, I wanna see draft picks being valued, I wanna see players coming via Latin America. I'm sick and tired of acquiring veterans whose best days have come and gone.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 12:38 AM) Not a bad comparison. They should be talking to the Mets now about what they'd offer for him. Alderson would rip us off Most of them are more competent then the Hahn/KW combination. Hard to be less competent...
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 11:54 PM) How much information is out there about the high school kid Zach Farrar they took in round 26? When I quickly looked him up, it looks like he is a big time football player with big D1 offers. Is this our bonus baby for this year? Farrar is already on campus at Oklahoma. Doubtful he'll sign.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) What a terrible idea. I'm sure we'll deal for him soon. Why is this post so good?
  18. This sounds like executives thinking short-term instead of long-term. Hahn feels some pressure, maybe not job-status pressure, but pressure to not be revealed as being an awful GM. No reason to be buyers in any capacity at the deadline. Trade Robertson, trade Melky and pack it in. No one watching this team would ever come to a conclusion that they should be acquiring players. Please fire Hahn, Kenny, Buddy Bell, RV, and the entire minor league instruction staff. Now I'll veer back into reality...
  19. What a day it would be to wake up and find out the entire coaching staff and front office was terminated
  20. Losing games when you have Chris Sale pitching and you're facing mike Pelfrey usually indicates you're team is not very good.
