QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) And yet all the people b****ing and whining about it ( ) have continued and ENLARGED the policy. But keep up with the "It's George Bush's fault." It'll work 50 years now too i'm sure. but you, of course, know that I'm very anti-Obama for this very reason.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Yup so XYZ judge who the president can trot out to the country for his progressive and tolerant stance on homosexuality can turn around and burn the constitution and let his Administration start killing Americans with drones! #RightSideofHistory It's amazing how short your memory is. Remind me who was it created the Patriot Act? Drone strikes on American citizens is just an expansion of that policy created by your side.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) My point is you can't keep claiming "freedom is the most important thing" when you know damn well every political party ever has drawn a line for whatever reason infringing on freedoms. Party A has priority X. Party Y has priority Z. That's the way it always works. It's simply wrong to point out that one party does this while the other is simply preserving freedom. Taxes and dictating how people spend their money or how much of their money they should keep is infringing on a freedom. Any sort of restriction whatsoever on gun ownership is infringing on a freedom. Limiting abortions to the 1st trimester and not allowing it later is still infringing on the freedom of a woman and her body. And how is be being against abortion caring about myself and not freedom? That makes no sense. so back to Hillary....
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) Well, we agree about the amount of protein we need/don't need, and you won't get an argument from me there...but still, you'd need to eat 3 servings of that Quinoa every meal to equal that of one serving of meat. It's still disingenuous to pretend they're the same, pound for pound...or ounce for ounce in this case. Quinoa does offer other benefits, however...including causing the poor people that farm it to have to sell it to you, so they can starve to death. but it's clearly a strawman argument you're creating if you agree with me that we don't NEED that much protein in the first place. and yes, the dead peruvians just make it taste better. I don't know what, but they do.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) While true, these comparisons you're making are a bit dishonest, as you're merely speaking of its amino profile while ignoring that a full serving of Quinoa contains a mere 3 grams of protein. In contrast, a full serving of just about any animal based protein is upwards of 25 grams. So yes, if you eat 8 servings of Quinoa every meal, you'll get the equivalent amount of protein, with a "complete" amino profile, as compared to simply eating one chicken breast. i dont know what quinoa you're eating, but my quinoa actually contains 8g protein per serving. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal...d-pasta/10352/2 I also am of the opinion that we don't need as much protein as the government and the meat industry lobbies want us to believe.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 08:42 AM) Ok, so for full disclosure I recently decided to take the advice of Reddy (yes, you read that right), and throw some Yoga into my weekly routines and I'm happy to report how wrong I was in my attitude toward Yoga. I've been doing this for just about a month now. Now, while I'd still never do this in public, or take such a class, I will say it's invigorating and obviously increases flexibility. I still do my weightlifting routines, but this was an excellent supplement to my workouts. I can't make it look like everything Reddy says or recommends is bad. Even though he is a modern day hippy.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 09:36 AM) It's also incredibly time consuming. I don't have time to try and combine thirty-seven different plant-based proteins to try and make them equivalent to animal proteins right now. Which is why I just said the hell with it and went with the fish and the protein shakes. I really don't eat much meat. I generally eat massive quantities of fruits and vegetables for lunch, and then try to have some kind of lean protein with grains and vegetables for dinner. I drink a protein shake after my workouts, which occur 3-5 times a week, depending on the week. and if that's what works for you, then that's the best way to go. it's all about something manageable that isn't restrictive, and what that is varies from person to person.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 07:44 AM) Reddy is sadly trying to discredit me with nothing more than saying "neener neener", when you can easily browse the web for information on supplements and proteins, and you'll find that actual science backs everything I've said. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_protein http://www.cdc.gov/nutrition/everyone/basics/protein.html "A complete protein source is one that provides all of the essential amino acids. You may also hear these sources called high quality proteins. Animal-based foods; for example, meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs, and cheese are considered complete protein sources." While soy, and a combination of other plant based proteins CAN be used together to form a complete protein, they cannot do so on their own, nor as easily. While this makes such an alternative possible, it's also a much more expensive proposition. Seeing as that you're not a vegan or a vegetarian, I see no reason to give you advice based on such restrictions. I spent enough money on this crap over the years to know...and if I can save anyone from making that same mistake I'll do so. unfortunately you didn't really read what I said. I never claimed soy to be a complete protein, but Hemp and Quinoa ARE complete proteins.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) I did a google search "Hillary Clinton is a b****" and a lot of stuff popped up. I shouldn't ever share an opinion with Glenn Beck but if I have to be totally honest on soxtalk, I'd have to say I kind of agree with this. I guess it makes me a bad person. http://mediamatters.org/research/2007/03/1...eotypica/138303 get a lot of good, unbiased sources from that search that allow you to make up your own mind? nah... thought not. that's too much work.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 08:44 PM) I picture there being a ton of international crisis in her 8 years and for some reason I envision her mishandling each and every crisis. I could see her offending China and Russia and maybe even causing some severe problems re. security. I just get the feeling after hearing her speak a lot and reading about how people dislike her (I believe she is a b---h; you may all disagree) that she wants to be Prez just to fulfil her great ego. She wants to prove she's as smart as Bill and as popular as Bill. Now I'd be all for Hillary winning and having a hotline to Bill at all times and let him make all the decisions. Or if she ran on a Clinton-Clinton ticket. Make Bill the VEEP. Being Prez is a lot of work. Dealing with the press on a daily basis; dealing with so much stuff on a daily basis. Why the hell would Hillary want to be Prez from the age of 68 to 76 when she could be just enjoying life? My guess is EGO pure and simple. I can't see her handling the job. As far as being sexist, not really. I just truly dislike Hillary. It's the polar opposite of how much I like Bill. Bill Clinton for Prez? Yes. Change the rules. Bring it on again. Hillary? Please. No. To the Hillary lovers out there: Have you ever heard her speak from the heart where you truly felt she wants to serve? Or do you sense a mean woman who feels it's her God-given right to be president, just like ol' Bill? I honestly don't think you know anything about Hillary Clinton. At the very, very least go read wikipedia. This honestly seems like a post out of some twilight zone version of America where Hillary Clinton became Sarah Palin... I'm so completely baffled by this.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 12:17 PM) Well I'm not really doing what he's suggesting, just thanking him for his input. I basically made the decision to eat more fish and less red/white meat, and to go back to my old protein shakes. yeah that's not a bad idea, but I'll be honest that there's really no 100% best way to do it, since fish has plenty of issues as well. farmed fish has a s***ty omega 3/6 ratio, and wild fish now has higher mercury levels than ever. red meat is fine if it's pastured, it's the factory farmed stuff that'll kill ya.
  13. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) How purposefully daft do you have to be to start using the 4th grade definition of culture when confronted? Yea man, the government should ban enchiladas and fettuccine because when I talk about poisonous culture what I really mean is food. i think you're allergic to actually answering questions.

  15. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 04:06 PM) Explain then how immigrants who came to this country well after separate but equal was overturned have done a much better job assimilating than many blacks? Not all those immigrants are light skinned either, so you cant just say mean ole racist whitey couldn't tell the difference. I went out of my way, and I think it was one of the most important parts of that post I made earlier, to include blacks on the list of people who've assimilated into this country already and shouldn't be responsible for accommodating a divergent culture. what? out of curiosity, what is this culture blacks SHOULD be assimilating into? are they not supposed to have their own culture? should latinos not have a culture? should irish and italian food be banned in america? should we not be allowed to eat enchiladas? what about polish sausage?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) duke: people don't like Hillary Clinton The Liberals: here is actual polling information, seems she is pretty well-liked? duke: I have no need for your fancy 'statistics' and 'factual information!' except in the thread where he's not being racist.
  17. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) See! This is what I was referring to! Just identifying the fact that there is a problem here (and there clearly is) has been relabeled racist. Now if you start making excuses here, start hyping the multi-culti myth of cultural coexistence and how its just white privilege that created all these problems it sounds real good to people who are terrified of looking racist when they try to articulate the cause of all this. Holding people accountable for anything, both individually and as a group is just not something you're willing to do unless you're self loathing whites. Duke the only thing being labeled racist is you saying that Blacks are inherently more violent than Whites. You keep standing behind that, and you somehow don't understand that it's racist. you didn't answer my question, WHY does the "dangerous black culture" exist in the first place? I'm not asking why does it perpetuate, I'm asking why does it exist at all?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) I'm a Republican but I guess I've changed quite a bit. I did vote for Obama believe it or not this last time. I just couldn't vote in good conscience for the Republican ticket. I also like the idea of Obamacare, though like everything else in America, it's impossible to understand it. I have no fricking idea how it works for me if I get laid off and lose my insurance, no fricking clue. I'm sure I'd have to read 50 pages of legalese to find out. I just truly think Hillary is "bad, bad, bad", to copy a George Bush line. I think my Republican party is pretty much obsolete, except catering to the rich assholes who are ruining American business by laying off so many people chasing every nickle while exploiting their workers. I'd suspect the next Demo candidate will win, I just hope it's not Hillary getting the nomination which she probably will. I think she might ruin our great country single-handedly. while you're right about the GOP, i second StrangeSox's question. why are you so scared of Hillary? It's weird. lol
  19. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) Wrong. There are almost three times as many whites who live near or under the poverty line than blacks (29 million whites to just under 10 millions blacks). So if you think income level better explains crime levels than anything else you'd still expect whites to commit more homicides because there are more whites living in poverty. That's not the case, between 2000-10 blacks committed 18,000 more murders than whites. So I dont buy for one second the argument that poor whites are just as violent as poor blacks. Blacks are more violent than whites, its crystal clear and you'd have to be a fool to try and deny that fact. I rarely bother with statistics and I never bother with linking anything but you're just so adamantly wrong I have to bring them in here to prove it. You want to know why I think this exists? I'll tell you now you cannot prove or disprove this with statistics, links or anything empirical. Its not genetic and its not some Darwinian bulls*** either. Contemporary black culture f***ing sucks in this country and giving the blacks an exemption to usual rule of assimilation has led to all these problems. Black urban culture is just incompatible with Western Civilization. And its not the duty of all the Whites, Asians, Arabs, Persians, Hispanics, Blacks etc. who do assimilate into Western culture to amend the way we live to accomodate a blatantly inferior culture. Its this conflict that creates the crime disparity along racial lines. so in your best guess, why do you think this contemporary black culture exists?
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) For 45lb rabbits, maybe. And any sports players you try to show me following this diet also follow a strict regimen of hgh and roids to compensate. No, not all proteins are the same, whether you like it or not, and there is no science that backs such a claim. Certain protein sources are more easily absorbed and used than others, and thus better for the application of muscle gain. Also, soy is the closest in comparable quality to animal base, and even it's not a "complete" protein source. nope. there are plenty of vegan athletes and bodybuilders who don't use roids and hgh. sorry to burst your bubble.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) Thanks! I ordered some of the protein powder I used to use, Muscle Milk Light, and I generally add some skim milk and a banana to it, maybe with some coffee grounds to wake myself up a bit before work. The fiancée and I are trying out some different dinner recipes with red meat substitutes, such as eggplant. Picked up some albacore tuna and swordfish steaks yesterday. As we've talked about at length though, allowing myself to cheat a few meals here and there, just to keep myself sane. So far, feeling great, seeing good results, plenty of energy. sorry shack but HH is way off about this.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) The same way any Democrat thinks that crazy Joe is a good choice to be one heartbeat away. i find it funny that Republicans rip on the two people in our political landscape with the best credentials and experience to run this country for being either 1) at b**** or 2) crazy. well... if that's crazy, then I'd hate to hear how you describe your candidates...

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 12:15 AM) I have never seen a more fascinating poster than Greg. I couldn't agree more. He flabbergasts me in the same way as Duke does, but at least he's nicer about it.
  24. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 10:11 AM) The problem I have with this line of thinking is that pretty quickly it starts excusing murders, thieves and rapists both white and black. Being poor isn't an excuse to commit physical acts of violent crime just like being rich isn't an excuse to go committing fraud. You're making things up again. I didn't excuse the violence, just gave you the reason for it. At the very least we should thus be able to agree that blacks aren't more violent than whites, rather poor people are more prone to violent crime than those who are able to make ends meet and live comfortably. Agreed? If I can make you a little less racist it'll be a good day.

But yeah, first I'd like to get those (what I consider to be on a policy level) basic rights taken care of, but that's been made preposterously difficult. welcome to the world of Duke. it's just banging your head against a wall.
