  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) It worked in high school.... it really did didn't it? oh the good ole days...
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) Badge, when in doubt, whip your dick out. this. being delicate never got anyone anything. and i'm being serious. although maybe stop just short of actually whipping it out.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) Like most things, it depends. Some women will (perhaps subconsciously) be turned off because you're doing yoga. If that's the case and you like doing yoga, those women probably aren't for you anyway and therefore you have missed out on nothing. Either way, first impressions don't last forever anyway. I'm sure we all can think of people who had us pegged completely wrong and vice versa. Disregarding the potential for looking at woman-ass/looking like a woman-ass, I still would be hesitant to do it until I'm more flexible. Something like illinilaw's class where I won't be the only inflexible dork wouldn't be so bad. I'm becoming a runner so increasing my flexibility would be immensely helpful the women DOING the yoga will not be turned off, and personally, those are the women I'd rather be with anyways. flexible.
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) I never said anything about not liking that aspect of *watching* it, but doing it is another thing altogether. i know we've had this discussion before... but women don't think a man who does yoga is less manly... just... so you know. in fact it's quite the opposite
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) Nothing in particular, it's just a stereotype from the main crowd that tends to do it, which is usually white women. What's so "white" about the Chicago Cubs, other than the fact that 99.9% of the people that attend Cubs games are white people? Nothing...but if you go there, you'd see what I mean. color me crazy, but a bunch of thin women in yoga pants sounds.... awesome... to me.... but hey we could have different tastes.
  6. so out of curiosity, what's feminine about yoga?
  7. Ouch. The fitness/workout thread got canned? What's that about??
  8. yesterday always has a glow that pales in comparison to today. no point in longing for something that isn't here anymore. I still love me some soxtalk, even with all its flaws. why not approach it from a positive perspective and try to improve it? i can't wait till we trade everybody. haha
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 08:38 PM) Cain- 27 years old, career .272 hitter, with 12 home runs, 80 RBI's, 26 SB, in 184 games This year- .257, 4 HR, 35 RBI, 36 R, 9 SB Brown- 25 years old, career .254 avg, 34 home runs, 118 RBI's, 13 SB, in 234 games This year- .281, 23 HR, 62 RBI, 49 R, 8 SB (All-Star) Brown has the power and has seem to find it this year, would much rather have him then Cain. I need some power pretty bad. Hah! well there ya go Amazing that I thought Cain was younger, but maybe that's just because I've been hearing about Brown for so long. At only 25, yeah he's obviously the better call and the better bet going forward. Cya credibility! I still like Minor, but if you really think hitting is a weak point, go for it. Quentin's days are numbered, and OF is a surprisingly shallow position to fill. I had no idea Brown was still 25... haha crazytown
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) Yeah, its a dynasty league so get to keep everyone and we have a farm system of up to 10 prospects but that could expand next year. I told him I would give Burnett instead. But if not I am going to try and get Cuddyer for Burnett instead. I need hitting at this point, younger is better. C- Lucroy 1B- Fielder 2B- Scutaro SS- Rollins 3B- Headley LF- Quentin CF- Crisp RF- Ethier BN- Gillaspie BN- Cain BN- Viciedo I am currently in 5th place but should be in 4th tomorrow. I need to get a bit younger and I feel Brown could do that. i just dont see Brown's ceiling being higher than Cain. They're really similar players and Cain is younger right (dont remember off the top of my head) I like the Burnett for Cuddyer trade though.
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) He is my starting pitching right now Chris Sale Mike Minor Matt Cain Miguel Gonzalez Jose Quintana AJ Burnett Jordan Lyles Jake Westbrook Bronson Arroyo i wouldn't worry about Cain, he'll come back around. That's a really solid 1-2-3, especially throwing Quintana in the mix. I don't buy Miguel Gonzalez long term, and Burnett's gonna fall off again in the next year or so. Honestly I'd hang on to Minor - i dont think the upgrade at OF is worth falling off at SP. Can you keep as many guys as you want from year to year?
  12. oh - and i'm really good at fantasy baseball. i know that's not really great credentials, but just sayin'
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) I just got this trade offer: Mike Minor, Lorenzo Cain, and Jorge Alfaro (Rangers prospect catcher) for Dominic Brown What do you think? is your need at OF more desperate long term than your need at SP? because i dont give a crap about cain and alfaro - but minor has the potential to be a solid #3 for some time.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 06:06 PM) Alright guys I need your input. I have been talking trades with this guy for awhile and wondering if you would do this deal Keep in mind this is a Dynasty League. Keep in mind my CF is Lorenzo Cain and I have a lot of pitchers. I would get: Andrew McCutchen, Brandon Belt, Hector Santiago, Brandon McCarthy, and prospect Robert Stephenson from the Reds He Gets: Prince Fielder, Chris Sale, and Lorenzo Cain would you do this deal or not?? hell no. McCutchen's the only thing of value you're getting. end of story
  15. heyyyy we DO all agree more or less. I'm a big believer in Paleo/Primal/Mark Sisson's stuff, and I agree that 100-150 carbs a day is a great thing to shoot for, but I've always felt that going lower than that is a slippery slope. So many people take the low carb thing to the illogical extreme and turn it into NO carb or Mark has still never convinced me on the IF and Keto front, and nothing I've read has either. To me, it makes much more logical sense to eat as many fruits, veggies, lean meats, fish, nuts, seeds and eggs as you want, regardless of carb intake. Because the dirty little secret no one seems to understand is if you eat the above foods, it's almost impossible to get fat, and it's impossible NOT to lose weight, regardless of calorie counting.
  16. on the whole though, Jake hit it on the head when he said Keto isn't a viable long-term solution. It's not sustainable unless you HAVE to sustain it for medical reasons. it's also incredibly tough to get a full range of vitamins and minerals on a ketogenic diet, because you're not getting as much fruits and veggies as someone with a more balanced diet.
  17. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) anticipating this lively discusion and the impacts on insulin question - are you diabetic or do you have an auto-immune disease? in those cases, keto can be a viable solution
  18. meh, color me skeptical. that obp is entirely BA dependent and pitchers will adjust. Trout is still far superior
  19. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) Personally I've found eating in a ketogenic fashion has worked amazingly for me i went from nearly 300 lbs to 235 over the course 4 months with the C25k program as well. Carbs no matter if they're from fruit or HFCS will be the premature death of the western world. My macros look like this 1351c , 83g of fat, 30g of carb, 121g of protein. Ugh... don't get me started on keto. Fruit carbs are perfectly healthy. I'll post a full response to this tonight or tomorrow when I'm at a computer.
  20. agree with flash, but the reality is this: the sox suck, this board sucks. the sox haven't been good in years, so it feels like this board has sucked for years. pretty straightforward.
  21. yeah there's no good option, but just use as little of either as you can
  22. boom goes the dynamite. good day
  23. Dusty Baker destroying another pitcher. Cingriani now up pitching in relief. Why. God. does he have a job? and why does he HATE rookies so much?
  24. i thought that was super funny, and i would totally watch more of those. haha
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 03:44 PM) There's a long series going back with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks at least 2 years, with Kennedy and Kershaw both involved with hitting people worth remembering too. I know there's history, and i dont care, you don't hit the other pitcher, and if you really feel like you have to, you don't go after his recently surgically repaired shoulder. that's just pathetic.
