  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) This seemed like pretty harsh words for a person you don't know enough about to make the assumptions you've made. I'm also for brutal honesty, but when you take it to this level, you need some details on the person that goes beyond barely knowing them, no? we've talked much more in private prior to this.
  2. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 10:54 PM) To be honest with ya reddy, I'll answer that with a video... Since were already balls deep into this situation I'll proceed... Pretty much all my friends are stoners now and after the breakup they were all I had, so I smoked...and smoked....and smoked some more. All I hang out with now are the guys I used to work with at a car wash. (All old classmates of mine). Around the same time it all happened I was also forced to quit my job at a car wash, where I was close to being a manager. The manager spot was something very coveted to me at the time, the pay was good enough for me, 1800 a month w/ benefits, and it was just an easy ass job. 4-5 of my classmates were managers so I knew how "cake" the position was, I would have been able to hire my whole 3 man staff, and we can smoked copious amounts of weed there. It woulda been pretty sweet. But then I was forced to quit because I used the power washer on the front of a car and chipping off some paint. Yes power washing the front of a car is a no no but everyone did it when they got tipped. The big boss, the guy above my classmate boss, told me I either had to pay the 440 damage claim or quit. With me still bein all butthurt over the situation with my ex I wasn't in the mood to be sensible with him, I shot a little promo on him and dipped. At that time I was left with nothing, but my stoner work friends who up until 3 weeks ago would smoke me out damn near everyday. It was my only way to keep me distracted from my real life. Like I was codependent on her, I now became codependant on marijuana. Up until the last 3 weeks I've had a new almost daily routine, I wake up, post a little on here, walk down to my buddies and rip a bong or 2, I walk back home, post some more, other buddy always picks me up at 5, we smoke and chill till 10, I come home and post some more, then go back to sleep. I loved it, I'm always happy, as you can tell by most of my post I was overly optimistic because I never liked to be negative. I was a laid back stoner that loved the life style. I'd say or agree to things in attempts to break that mold, case and point agreeing to join team reddy! go team reddy!! I'll be honest with you Andrew, if I wasn't running the show I wasn't interested and that's just who I am, I do what's going to please me. After being there before in your coach position and seeing you have so much more success than I had I have basically stopped playing along. I stopped going on the page because I didn't wanna see how many new members you had. Over the past few months things have been coming together, I got my PERC card last month, I'm 3 weeks off the trees, and I do have that treadmill I mentioned which I have been getting on every other day. I've also bounced at a bar a few weeks ago and there's another show next week. After I make that $40 I'm joining a boxing club to whip me into shape for rugby next season....the way I wanna do it...violently lol. There are other stories I can throw out there as to why I am who I am but I'm not sure why anyone would care lol. Let's just say its been a rollercoaster. Ah, what a pitiful life I've lived. I tremble to think what it would have been like without my love of sports and marijuana. GO SOX! LEGALIZE IT! i'm going to be brutally honest for a second. the reason you aren't interested in something unless you're "running the show" is that you're scared you'll fail. if you can tell yourself YOU'RE in charge, then when you decide to quit, like you did with P90X, like you did with Coaching, like you did with your job, it will have been YOUR "choice", and YOUR "call", and you did it for the "RIGHT" reasons. You know what all that is? delusion. you're taking the safe and easy way out so that you don't have to take a risk and put yourself out there. by living that way it doesn't have to be your neck, your pride, your self-respect on the line. And i get it. 95% of people do the exact same thing. they take the easy way out. they settle for a mediocre job they don't enjoy. they settle for average. they don't TRY to achieve great things because they don't feel they can or they don't feel they deserve it. BUT - and this is the kicker - THEY TELL THEMSELVES THEY'RE HAPPY. They tell themselves that this is good enough. They tell themselves that they're doing it THEIR WAY and that they're CALLING THE SHOTS. Couldn't be further from the truth. If you were REALLY calling the shots in your life, would you be a security guard? If you really ONLY did things you enjoy, then why the f*** aren't you going bowling, shooting hoops, going to sox games, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. The truth is you DON'T call the shots. You let her call them for you. You let your drug habits call them for you. You let your excuses call the shots. End of story. But the good news is you don't have to. I don't give a s*** if you do P90X or not. I don't give a s*** if you become a coach or not. I just want you to live your damn life and STOP letting the excuses run it into the ground. If something isn't going right in your life the only thing you can do is look in the mirror and say what can i do differently? You do that, things will start looking up.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) Revolution "SPOILER" from tonight.... Well, that was terribly obvious that the Jason guy was Gus' son. As soon as they showed that Gus had a young boy, and the very next scene cut to Jason, it was quite obvious. wait you mean Revolution is heavy handed and badly written?
  4. and what happened with Rugby? P90X? all these things you set out to do? go DO something!!
  5. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Lol theres not much life I can live right now with no job....Having weed in my system is a legit, albeit a dumb, excuse I have right now as far as a job goes and me going out and living life. i've never had a job in my life that required a drug test - so get one of those.
  6. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) Ya man I've been getting there. My main problem is we did everything I love to do together...Bowling, batting cages, shootin hoops, playin catch in the backyard, goin to Sox games, playing my favorite non sports video game, and watching our favorite shows...so it's all kind of tainted now and all reminds me of our time together. Once I get my system cleared out of weed (its been 3 weeks since my last hit) and get me a job I'll be back on track and on the prowl for a lady. dude if YOU like doing these things, KEEP DOING THEM. Do them with other people. The more you do them, the less and less they'll remind you of her and they'll become your things again. i'm all about doing things that scare you. because the more you do them, the less scary they are. stop making excuses and just live YOUR friggin life!
  7. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) Suicide has been a thought, but nothing more than a silly thought...The stupid things I spoke of are going to to this guys house and beatin some ass (I obviously know where he lives because I dropped her off there everyday) or "stalking" her and making her life hell until she gave me a restraining order or I got thrown in jail. Posting here on soxtalk takes my mind off stupid thoughts like that. It sounds like I'm overblowing this and I probably am, but she ruined a lot of what was good in my life. I was a pretty popular guy and then I met her and we chilled everyday and I ditched all my friends. Pretty much right now the only friends I can go back to are my stoner friends and with me needing a job I've been layin off the trees. Thats the worst part of the whole thing...I'm over her for the most part its the loss of so many friends that f***in blows....I feel like a nobody now.... But ya actually since I posted that first comment about giving up I decided to hit up a few girls who've showed interest in me in the past and we're staying in touch now...nothins gonna happen till i get a job though. so make your own life good again. you have that ability, you just have to get off your ass and do it.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 10:12 AM) Caught up with last weeks Revolution and The Last Resort. I think Revolution is actually getting better each week. I've said before the flashbacks are a really cool story telling device, and they're using them well. Getting the back story of these characters, and some of what they had to go through after the black out, really adds to the show. The Last Resort....meh. I want to like it, but the idea is just so ridiculous. And they hit the heavy with the XO's relationship way too early. Lots of crying and i'm left thinking "I don't care about this, someone blow some s*** up." seriously? you guys like Revolution? ugh WHY? there's absolutely nothing good about it. story isn't deep. isn't all that interested. Charlie STILL cries over every f***ing person that dies. She continues to be the worst actor on the planet. and we're supposed to be all shocked that the good guy is actually the bad guy WHOAAAAA gimme a break.
  9. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 14, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) This is your first instinct on everything, looking for the racist angle. Your own posts prove it, so keep on trying to diminish it by posts like this one after you get called out on it. but see, kap, a lot of southern and hicksville republicans ARE racist... so... it's a legit concern...
  10. i'm gonna start adding crossfit once a week to get my rope climbing and caveman workout on. I wanna do American Ninja Warrior. No joke.
  11. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) You keep parroting this abortion issue. The majority of this country is pro life. that is horribly untrue. lol
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Ugh, the absolute worst part of campaign coverage is the spin room. So much bulls*** thrown around in that room it's almost disrespectful to the audience. sort of like in here.

  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 8, 2012 -> 06:19 PM) Not true. My vegan diet has not helped cure my grotesquely large penis. can... can i... can i see it?
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 8, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Unfortunately, I did watch the whole video. Now, if you want to speak in absolutes, which you did, I will respond accordingly. I'm not going to "assume" to know what you meant. If you didn't mean "in every single case", than don't say that. And furthermore, you didn't even specify cancer, you said ALL diseases, which is even worse. I responded fairly, to exactly what you said. Had you said that a proper diet can help cure/prevent certain diseases, I would have agreed...but you didn't. the proper diet can help cure/prevent: cancer diabetes alzheimers obesity arthritis multiple sclerosis and more.
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 8, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) I'm not so sure this is proof of your specific claim, especially when you say infinite things like "all". Not to mention, diet is merely part of the equation he poses here, not the entire equation. Nobody is claiming a proper diet cannot help prevent disease/sickness...but it CANNOT prevent all diseases, and damn sure cannot "cure" them. When speaking of the latter, you use the word 'cure', which means you first have to be stricken with said disease, and then decide to eat right to cure it...but that's not reality. Sometimes once you get the disease, it's over. If all these little kids that get Leukemia at the age of 2 had to do was eat right in order to be cured...I'd be quicker to agree with you. I don't think we're there quiet yet, however. you, sir, did not watch the whole video. it's possible that many of us have small little cancers growing in us right now. ALL people will develop cancer if they live long enough. HOWEVER, by cutting off the blood flow to said cancers, they cannot grow. And if you eat to prevent that blood flow, you're subsequently preventing cancer. ugghghghgh and i HATE when you use my hyperbole as if i truly mean that this will help in EVERY SINGLE CASE. use your brain. obviously i'm not suggesting that it's going to cure every instance of cancer. and as he says, once it gets to the point where it's full blown metasticized cancer, all you can do is slow it down and help people live longer. But turns out, this method works better than anything we're currently doing ala chemo.
  17. Hey remember when I was saying diet can cure/prevent all disease? Proof.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 6, 2012 -> 11:26 AM) Now change it to frog burpees and you'll be able to have even more beers or something like that.
  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) 143k/mo is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGZZZZZZZZZZZ DORRRRRRRRRRIUULSSSS! OBAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA@@!@@$ f***ing sheeple. A real recovery would have 5X that much per month, but alas, you're all brainwashed into thinking that this is WONDERFUL - right before the election. If I can predict what was going to happen a year ago, and I'm supposed to be the stupid one, WTF does that make you all? Brainwashed. you're a crazy person. lol
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) Who wants a 10-15 min cardio/strength workout???? YES!! I knew you all did. I thought I'd share this out as I do this when im on the road and a co-worker wondered how I got so sweaty in 10 min. Its called: Burpees from hell You have about 15 min to train and then shower and go to dinner. First: Stretch hammy's and quads and anything else that is tight. You should stretch everyday anyway. Then, put a timer on for 10 min, you will be working out essentially every min. Your goal is 10 burpees in under a min. if you are advanced you can do a pushup when down on the floor, if you suck you dont even need to jump at the top. Once you finish 10 burpees you have the rest of the min to "rest". As soon as the next min starts you have another 10 to do. Do this for the entire 10 min. Thats it. Easy way to burn a few hundred cals in under 15 min. You can modify the burpees to change it or even make it hard but you are talking about cardio, little strength in glutes and chest. so like the easy version of Insanity.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) I doubt the plan was to be received as a loser. I didn't actually see the debate, but from the parts I've seen, it seemed like something was up with BO. It was as if he had missed out on sleep or something...probably just part of being a President instead of just some random rich guy politicking around. no of course the plan wasn't to lose, but i think the plan MAY have been to save his best for later.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 07:33 PM) This seems like revisionist history. I believe statistically Obama spoke more than Romney. That being said, last night I commented that Obama should have shut up and let Romney hang himself with his own rope. Perhaps I know a little more about debate strategy than Y2hh gave me credit for. Jenks, If this was the 3rd debate it may have been devastating. But it was the first debate and if Obama's handlers are smart the bury Romney in a shallow grave the next 2 debates. I dont buy Obama purposefully tanked, I just think hes not great at speaking. i've always felt that way. people talk about what a great orator obama is and i've never felt that. all the 10 minute pauses, tons of "uhs" and "ums" and mumbles. i dunno... there were points last night where all he NEEDED to say was a great snappy one liner, but he buried them in 5 minutes of monologue-ing so no one knew what he was getting at.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) No way that's true because that's a terrible strategy. First, they probably had enough ammo to do a commercial like that anyway. Second, those commercials are worthless because people know that politicians are awful people that change their minds to get votes. And third, you know what's worth even more? Stealing headlines for an entire day about how you, the s***ty challenger, made the President look like someone who doesn't want to be President anymore. Winning that debate completely changed the race. 15 million more people watched the debate this year than four years ago. They wanted to see what these guys had to say. And they saw Romney on the attack and Obama backing away. That was huge. Romney needed to "upset" Obama on a national stage to have a chance and he did it. Allowing that to happen for a 15 second political ad? No way. meh, i dunno. it makes sense to be weak in your first debate and then fire it up for the last two, the two weeks before the election... THAT gives you the momentum when you need it - not a month out. Obama and his team know how to run campaigns. They're brilliant at it. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the plan all along. Yes, that's also me hoping, and I realize the bias that goes into that. however... stranger things have happened.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) Agreed so i've been hearing more mumbling and grumbling that Obama's PLAN was to shut up and let Romney talk so they could put out the new commercials having him contradict himself. Because that's EXACTLY what he did last night. He said the opposite of all the things he's been saying on the trail for months. And now Obama has the proof. Betcha Bam bounces back next time.
  25. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) lol, then he cut down the military numbers and left me and tens of thousands of other veterans displaced and without time to get anything together. Thanks a lot! Relying on the VA has been such a smooth ride lately. /green man... if only someone had offered to help you get back on your feet.
