  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) I love Tony Horton! I've started working later in the day because of a new job and I have started with my workouts at 6 AM...definitely changes up your day...I am definitely much more engaged at work, not tired, no more need for coffee, etc. i honestly would follow him to the ends of the earth.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) When I'm going good, an example week for me will be: Mon: legs Tues: 3-5 mile run Weds: tris/shoulders/chest Thursday: core(pretty short day, only about 20 minutes) Friday: back/bis Saturday: HIIT Sunday: active rest(usually bball) And when I really start going crazy ill add in cardio after all my lifting sessions as well. Good call on the long term goals as well, all my goals are always extremely short sighted. yeah that's the biggest mistake people make. They want to get in shape for (Fill in the Blank). An event, a vacation, a reunion, etc. But who gives a s*** about that? After it's over, then what? When you've got a big-picture goal, it never goes away.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 09:03 PM) Happy this thread got bumped. Since I moved to the city my diet and work out schedule has been god awful. I'm getting back at it tomorrow though so hopefully this thread being around will keep me motivated. Very frustrated at myself as I've been so obsessed with my fitness for the last 2 years, researched everything and anything and just have gone back to living my college life the last month and a half. No more f***in excuses, need to get back to where I was. it's easy to fall off unless you have long term goals. for me, it's about not being a friggin' cripple when I'm 65 and having to rely on other people to get up and down stairs etc. I plan on doing yoga when I'm 80. I'm not scared of dying, but i'm scared of being old. what's your regimen?
  5. So Asylum's almost done. That s***'s bananas. Starting out on Beachbody's newest program next monday - Body Beast. For you guys looking for pure muscle gains, this is it. I've done a couple of the workouts and it's fantastic. Dynamic Set Training (basically Pyramid training) where you do 15 reps of light weight, 12 of heavier, 8 of heaviest, then a drop set. Destroys you in such a great way!
  6. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) Yeah 33 scoreless innings in a row, and a 1.86 era. He's garbage. lol @ sample size.
  7. Dempster is a terrible pitcher. After the Youk trade I'd be really bummed to see Kenny make a dumbass move like this.
  8. QUOTE (MAX @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) I think it should reference that day when thorton lead them all to the pen like ducklings. the flying v? the mighty ducks? the mini ducks? the mallards? the quack attack?
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Their Quidditch team. When said "we play next year" I mean me and my team actually playing them. I know, a sport based off Harry Potter, but with tackling and everything it still takes some athleticism. wait what?
  10. fortunately the chicken comes with steroids already included! as for flavor injecting? seems like way too much work when you can just... put the sauce on top...
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 11:50 PM) Finally ... My plea to you. Can you lay off Ozzie Guillen for his time in Chicago? He was a good White Sox player for a long time, solidifying our ss position. He had his flaws as a hitter, swinging at too many pitches, but was a very good player. As a manager, he directed the team to one of the best postseason runs in baseball history. If you lay off him, I don't have to defend him. PLEASE PLEASE leave Ozzie alone. Or ignore him. Go SOX!!
  12. Any Jalapeno flavored chip... back when I was eating chips... sigh.
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 07:41 AM) I thought they might have Dunn bat in the bottom of the 9th. Nope. They had to get Wieters and his .700 OPS a second at bat.
  14. after i posted i did think about buses and realized that those may skew things back your way. i'll admit more often than not i'm on the subway, and that seems to have a good number of businessfolk vs. your convenience store workers.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 07:13 AM) Frankly, yes, if we could start all over again, the tax break for mortgage interest winds up being a terrible setup, huge waste of money compared with other means of subsidizing/stabilizing home ownership, and a giant subsidy to encourage people to buy more house(s) than they reall can afford. The problem with getting rid of it, of course, is that people have made 30 year purchase plans assuming that credit would continue to exist, which makes getting rid of it extremely difficult. Mass transit, OTOH, actually skews quite poor, because they're the group that can't afford cars. yeah you're wrong about that actually. poor folk work at jobs in their neighborhoods. they walk.
  16. Greg, since your only defense is "a team is bad without a closer, and heath bell has been underperforming", let me deal with that in particular. Why has he left Heath Bell in there to close even after countless blown saves, and the fact that he obviously is not in the right place mentally or mechanically to close right now? You'll say loyalty. You may even say it's because he's the free agent, highly paid closer and that's his job, so that's why Ozzie's sticking with him even though it's a bad decision. Here's what I say: Ozzie is too afraid (yes AFRAID) to stick his neck out and make a bold move, because it might not work. So he rides his free agent closer with a great track record, just HOPING Bell will get things together so Ozzie will look good for "sticking with his man" through thick and thin. Ozzie is all about image. You can't tell me otherwise. He said that HE was the face of the Chicago White Sox franchise. Image is all he cares about. Unfortunately for him, Bell ISN'T turning it around, so now Ozzie is FORCED to actually make a f***ing decision, and thus his meltdowns. He doesn't want to be wrong! He doesn't want to make a bad choice and have it be HIS fault, so he sticks with Bell so it can be the CLOSER'S fault and not the manager's. See how that works? He's a coward and a terrible manager, and it's HIS FAULT the Marlins are bad because he's unable to make the moves that need to be made, just to protect his own perception of his IMAGE. Pathetic.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) I hope it is something like Thursday Friday at one place and Saturday and Sunday at the other and not a Tuesday Wednesday in May and then a Tuesday Wednesday in September. lot's of nice series splits on the horizon. that's stupid.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) Obviously Mark Buehrle getting the f*** out of town was the best thing to ever happen to the White Sox. amazing.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 10:24 PM) Uh-oh, that sounds like an attack. Be very afraid of the repercussions, as you knoweth not what you do. nah, i know what i'm doing. i just cant help myself.
  20. Greg what's the one common denominator between last years under-performing Sox team and this years under-performing Marlins team? You're gonna tell us that it's PURELY coincidence?
  21. is anybody else fascinated by the ramifications of knowing greg's age? like... if he's 18 or something... but then he'd have been 8 when he joined the site... so like... i guess that's not possible... but if he's like... 65... then, ya know, that could contribute a bit too... so many FASCINATING things going on in this thread. it's like our very own MTV reality show in here. no matter how bad it is, you can't help but want more.
  22. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Why are people talking about Trout for MVP? Hamilton blows him way out of the water. not even close to true. Mike Trout has a higher OPS+ than Hamilton. Hamilton's WAR = 3.3 Trout's WAR = 4.6
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 06:58 PM) Of course...what happened the last time that happened? The end result of this wonderful unity wound up being the U.S. marching into Iraq with only dirty hippies bothering to ask questions or say "hey maybe this isn't the best idea"...and it wound up as one of the dumbest, worst decisions this country ever made. um... i'm pretty sure a lot of non-hippies were against the war in iraq from the very beginning. it NEVER made sense. not just in retrospect.
  24. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 07:05 PM) In one word: Wow. Next person? what? you're finally being positive??? hell has frozen over. that said, 9 over at the allstar break and in first place? I'll take it! lotta fun right now.
  25. Aight another shameless self-plug, but the 90 days are up from my first Challenge Group, and no one's posting in here anyway, so I thought I'd share my clients' before/after pics with you guys. And my own: If anyone wants info lemme know.
