QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) Now that is a sustainable trend. well played sir.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 08:49 AM) Those numbers are ridiculous and unsustainable., you suck

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) You really dont see the correlation between the govt telling you what size drink you can buy and your rights being taken away? its a matter of scope.

WTF lexi? Come on...

i think we're winning.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) And this is how your rights go away, step by step... haha yeah ok.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) There are drugs that prevent cancer? it's called eating right.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) Govt shouldnt be able to tell you what you can eat and drink. Although a great argument against Healthcare would be that if the govt is paying for it, they have a better argument to ban unhealthy things and further control our lives. here's the giant problem though. people are stupid and make themselves sick because of the foods they eat. THAT puts a burden on the entire healthcare system. If Americans would just f***ing eat better, they wouldn't get sick so damn much. Someone's gotta get america off its high fructose corn syrup addiction. I applaud Bloomberg and Mrs. Obama for getting things going on the right track.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Dude, I was just looking at random people out and about and like 90% are extreme fatsos. Even little kids are super fat! it's true.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) Give them time, they will figure it out. Bloomburg already tryign to. Remember, they know what is best for you. They DO when it comes to nutrition. People in this country are nutritionally retarded. I'm all for Bloomberg's plan.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 07:44 AM) This isn't a competition. We're all f***ed based on this law. Enjoy your "penalty" increase. I don't consider being taxed an extra small percentage so that everyone can get access to health care to be "f***ed". I'm totally cool with it, and that's the option I'm going to take when the time comes.
-
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) Yes, because then you can't hind behind the farce of it NOT being a tax increase. Kinda like putting that computer on sale for 10% off, after you jacked it up 20% first. Any way you slice it, the tax burden that is now there was NOT there before. So this bill increased taxes. Yeah it does. So what? I'm happy to pay an extra small percentage to guarantee that I have health coverage. That's just awesome.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 11:30 PM) If Smyly and Fister are really healthy, it's a bit ridiculous to say DET can't pitch. Porcello and Scherzer also have a ton of talent, in the Edwin Jackson-ish way, but it's there. They're not garbage. So, in the end, you give the Tigers the VERY slight edge, but it could definitely go either way. In one month, looking at both rosters after the trade deadline has passed, we'll know a lot more to make a more accurate prediction for the 2nd half, presumably. Smyly of the ~4.50 ERA? Porcello and Scherzer = Danks/Floyd. Tons of talent but can't consistently get it together. I still don't trust Fister in the long haul, but we'll see what happens if he's healthy. I'd take Sale and Peavy over any of their 1-2 options.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 08:24 AM) Lol, incredibly rare situation involving a pre pre term baby needing round the clock care from specialists =/= some emergency procedure. Oh, and since this country is so morally and ethically bankrupt when it comes to healthcare, i'm assuming this baby is now dead because if you can't pay medical bills you're just thrown out on the street to die. I see that happen all the time. you lost, get over it.

why is there an argument about this? it's over. we won. get over it.

QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) It is nice so far, but Detroit will still win this division. We got off to a nice start but I doubt that they will be able to keep this up the entire season. They can't pitch. We can.

don't worry guys, we'll get our own dose of TJS with Sale at some point. don't get too excited.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Other than bodyweight exercises (pushups, pullups, etc), what is the cheapest way to start doing some strength training? Can I buy a barbell+weights and do things like squats and lifts without having something like a power rack (assuming I am extremely conservative about how much weight I use)? haha you allllll know what I'm going to say. Thing is... in this case... it kind of is the cheapest, most effective way to get yourself acclimated to strength training...

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:27 AM) P90X works, but not for what he's trying to do. There is no one size fits all workout, and for his specific goal, P90X is probably the worst workout he could attempt. He wants to pack muscle. To pack muscle you hit the weights, and load up on heavy compound movements, mostly with barbells (not dumbbells). You could supplement this with a few P90X cardio workouts to drop some fat while building that muscle, but sticking with P90X when your goal is massive muscle gain is counter productive. P90X is clearly more cardio centric, which is why most people that use it lose weight and tone up, but don't pack on 30lbs of muscle. he doesn't know what he's trying to do. he needs to lose the 40 pounds FIRST before he can bulk up.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 12:09 PM) We get that you love P90X and you think it's the greatest program known to mankind, but seriously, stop trying to tell people they're stupid if they don't like it. Jeez. haha fair enough. i wouldn't say it's the greatest program known to man kind, but it is the best mix of accessibility and effectiveness on the market.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) Ok so now that my body is feeling good again (I was a lil dinged up from rugby) I need to start working out again. Since I stopped doing p90x I've gained 15 pounds and it's killing me. p90x started getting stale with me, I use the heaviest resistance bands I found and I still feel I can do much more. I want size, I wanna sculpt my 295 lbs into a 255 brock lesnar type body. I've got a bench, one 45lb dumbell, a tractor tire, and a sledge hammer. What sort of routine should I follow? Make me a routine and I'll follow! lol remember when you were trying to give P90X advice? Sorry brother, but P90X DOES work - I just had a bunch of clients finish Day 90 yesterday. Losses of 25, 35, 44 pounds. Amazing stuff. I put on almost 10 pounds of muscle myself. If it got stale, the issue aint the DVDs, it's between the ears.
