QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) I don't dispute PK with the A as much as I do that in relation to Adam and his C. I think Adam has had as much to do with this team's success as PK. completely agree. this team has been successful because of that terrifying 3-4 punch we've got now that we also have a leadoff man who gets on base. our success is due to: De Aza Paulie Dunn Peavy Sale without any one of those guys, we don't have the badass record we do now.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 09:30 AM) I do. Those are worthless AB's and they are coming at a way higher rate than any year but 2011. lol ridiculous. his OPS is over .900 - that means he's absurdly valuable. K's are better than GIDP aren't they? I don't care if he breaks his own strikeout record as long as he hits 30+ homers and walks 100 times. and he's going to do that. learn baseball.

why is chris "elbow soreness" in there? this organization makes no sense. lol

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) Rios is taking it back up the middle again. Good to see. gross.

Kipnis is a damn good player. It's not like Lou Marson just did that.

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ May 26, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) What kinda numbers is Viciedo on pace for? MERCY!!! before today, 34 homers. probably on pace for around 40 now. will he hit that many? probably not, but it's fun while he's hot!

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ May 25, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) We went to a restaurant that tried to add the auto gratuity to our bill because they included my 3 month old daughter in their count. After we had the worst restaurant experience in our lives (they were out of nearly everything we ordered and the waitress was overheard complaining about us to other customers) we told them to take it off. They did and we haven't been back since. That was over 10 years ago. but why take it out on the SERVER when it's the restaurant owners you had a problem with in regard to check policy and being out of everything... (obvs sans the waitresses complaint)

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 23, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) Welcome to the light! Why doesn't this same mentality work for something like pregnancy or drug use? If you choose to do it, deal with the consequences....not societies responsibility to pay for it... drunk driving endangers others while having sex doesn't?

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 23, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) My problem with the whole DUI thing is that we encourage and enable this result by revolving so much of our society around alcohol, and then we seem shocked that these people actually get in their cars and try to get back home again when they are finished. Then, the municipalities and states bend these people over as if they are murderers and rapists to try and extract as much cash as possible in order to make up for other shortfalls in their budgets. The entire process is extraordinarily punitive without doing s*** to actually try and address the root cause of the problem. watch out y'all - i'm about to say something all the conservatives on this board will agree with. personal f***ing responsibility. it's not the governments job to say "stop advertising alcohol, stop trying to sell your products" and it's not the governments job to babysit full grown adults. make your own damn decisions and pay for them.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 23, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) I don't need an announcer to cheer with me for the White Sox. I can do that myself. I just want to know what is going on in the game and why. Also, maybe I can learn a thing or two. Hawk does little of that. i'd say Hawk does a lot of that. it's just not sabermetric, and it's not about the 90's till today. but that's fine cuz that's when I've been following baseball anyway so I was there for it.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) I agree on the harsh comments, but don't direct them at me. I'm just trying to save his life. I realize he's a moron. I'm not the type to say, "You just got a third DUI. Lose this phone number!!" Thanks for the help and the links BTW. For now, I'm assuming Nevada will treat this as a second DUI since they treated his last DUI in Vegas as his first. Maybe it got negotiated out during his first Vegas DUI case. Although he did say he had no idea why the Vegas judge didn't know about the Kansas DUI during his Vegas DUI hearing. Like I said, Mr. Attorneys, if this was your client and he had committed his second DUI offense in Illinois, with let's say his first (undetected) DUI in Vegas four years ago, what kind of settlement do you think you could get for him in Illinois? Is this guy gonna serve hard time behind bars in Vegas? you don't have to tell him to lose the phone number, but you don't have to support his decisions either. being a friend sometimes involves calling someone out and giving them tough love. you'd better do both.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 23, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) I don't care how many s***s he gives about the Sox? I want an intelligent play-by-play guy that offers great baseball insight, not an idiot crying about every play & repeatedly talking about how Yaz is the best person to ever step foot on this planet. well that's silly.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 23, 2012 -> 10:27 AM) There's a line there when it comes to dead air on TV. When the other team walks off the Sox, I don't need much from him. The action speaks for itself. When it's innings at a time where he says very little, he's just pouting like he's on the team. He's not on the team! What I hate about him the most now is that he thinks it's The Hawk Show. He's going to ride out The Hawk Show until he's 80 or he kicks the bucket, so he can get in the broadcaster's wing of the Hall. That's his whole M.O. now. his whole "m.o" is to call games for the team he loves. yeah he'd like to get into the hall of fame, i'm sure. but listening to that guy, you know his heart is 110% into his work. how many of you can say the same thing? you'd rather them hire someone that doesn't give 2 s***s about the sox?

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 22, 2012 -> 11:14 PM) Hope your friend loses his license forever before he kills some innocent people because he can't control himself. Tell him to grow up and to rejoin society. this.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 21, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) Has anyone tried out the new Nike "Hypercool 2.0" workout gear, particularly for running? I can't see paying upwards of $40 for a fancy T-Shirt to sweat in, but they've caught my eye. However, I'm a little worried that if I bought one, I'd end up looking like the guy who's trying too hard. are you?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 21, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Of course it is, its also possible Brent Morel can show those September numbers again and Adam Dunn can go back to being the worst hitter in baseball. Anythings possible in the game of baseball. Until it happens I'm gonna stick with my opinion that hes a slow starter and he will be an impact middle of the order bat the rest of the way. With that if you add a middle of the lineup hitter to a .500 team that team is usually no longer a .500 team. very true, but AJP ain't gonna keep up his .850 OPS and Paulie's gonna come back to earth as well. There's regression on both sides of the coin. What you gain with Viciedo you lose from those guys.
-
QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 21, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) Yes I meant Dayan. Its amazing how a slow start, from a slow starter makes him not good all of a sudden. This is a guy we all expected to match the output of one Carlos Quentin without the injury risk. Unless he goes back to the .200 hitter he was before this hot streak I will stand by this thinking and predict 30+ bombs with 80+ RBI. so you're conceding that's possible? because, you know, it is.

QUOTE (MAX @ May 21, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) 12 hits, 4 HR and 10 rbi is usually good enough for AL player of the week, not just "a good week". lol
-
Orlando Hudson is apparently an impact, middle of the order bat. ah, he meant Dayan.... amazing how a good week makes him a cant miss.....
-
not diggin' the BA-inflated OBP, but hey, that's ok as long as he can keep the BA up.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 02:22 PM) LMAO, research on Alexei? I've been a White Sox fan long enough to realize he sucks in April, tell us more how you win all your fantasy leagues. but... think... he's not... valuable... due to a bad... april/may... sigh.
