  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Biggest only in height and weight. The guy is a complete a** and very few people like him. No one looks to him for leadership. That being said I always root for the Sox thus him in a secondary way I root for him. uh... what? first of all biggest in height and weight would be adam dunn. secondly... i think the pitchers on this team like him a lot
  2. White Sox thru 15 games: RS: 67 (4.47 RPG) RA: 53 (3.53 RPG) Team ERA: 3.16 1st in the AL in BAA (.219) 2nd in the AL is Strikeouts (Pitching) 2nd to last in BB allowed 2nd to last in Runs Allowed 2nd in WHIP 3rd in ERA there's some potential here...

    New York City

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) I know you're an actor and all but an entire city of artists sounds like hell. not THAT kind of artist. the we-actually-make-a-living-doing-it artist. those kinds are much less obnoxious.
  4. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) That's great. It doesn't mean I have to like him. i guess not.

    New York City

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) New York is like LA-west. Insufferable group of people living who come from across the country to live in their cherished yuppie disneyland. I dont hate yuppies even, but christ give them an entire city and it becomes just so unbelievably boring. I know they did it because they had some issues with crime and garbage, but they went way overboard. Take the north side of Chicago, multiply everything that sucks about it by 1000, give it some amazing architecture and you have New York City. I was so let down, I went in expecting the concrete jungle but instead got a really giant subway network connecting a bunch of s*** that was almost completely identical. Oh man, and Williamsburg... please someone just drop 5 or 6 daisy cutters on that place, do the world a favor. Williamsburg is terrible. Midtown is terrible. Been anywhere else? and most people in NYC are either business people or artists... an entire city of artists is anything but boring.
  6. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) What is it that I should know outside of whats already given to me? I'm a motivational coach, I motivate people by my results....and really, youre right, I tell all the people that i try to get to coach that theres really no coaching involved. You post your progress get people who wanna get the same results so you tell them what youre doing and get them to buy the stuff....I really dont see how any outside knowledge is needed. I did p90x, they tell you what workout to do everyday and if you follow the dvd it shows you how to do the moves so i dont need to tell them anything about how to do the workouts or when to do the workouts, its all there. I received a nutrition guide with my order so if they ask me a question about nutrition I can refer to that...If theyre not ready for p90x I know what workout dvds are easier to do so i can recommend one of those and once again the dvds tell you what to do.....I dont need to make up a workout routine for these people as im trying to sell them beachbody dvds and those dvds will make the routine for you.... So as I keep saying its all there for you. I'm having problems getting to my macros for the day. coach do you have advice on that? I'm a vegetarian but the diet guide doesn't help for that. coach do you have advice on that? I'm having problems landing softly during the jump knee tucks. coach do you have advice for that? I'm not seeing the results I want - should I follow the P90X guide and up my carbs for Phase II or should I stick to the Fat Shredder? coach do you have advice for that? can you answer those questions?
  7. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) I haven't liked him since he elbowed Frank years ago at the Metrodump. I root for the guy because he's a White Sox though. he single-handedly WON you an ALCS, he stomped aaron boone, he gave joe borchard $100 for homering off Brett Tomko, I could go on and on and on he's one of the biggest leaders on this club.
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) Texas does. And yes a lot of teams have weak hitters batting 8th and 9th but there's nothing like Morel and Beckham at 8-9. there really is, I promise. go ahead and check out 2/3 of the National league rosters also re: Texas, I personally find our rotation better than theirs. Yes, it goes without saying Texas is the best team in the league. But I see no reason we can't make the playoffs if 5 teams are getting in.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Napoli hitting 8th says, not me. right. texas has a fantasy baseball lineup. that's the only team tho
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Not the top teams in the AL, it seems but do THOSE teams have the pitching we have?
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Bottom of the order same problem the rest of major league baseball has
  12. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) I thought coming into the year that if the Sox were bad we were gonna know it QUICK. Well, 15 games in and this team isn't bad. There were so many questions coming in, but 70% of those questions have come back with positive results. Question marks coming in: Bullpen=Good Dunn=Good Rios=Good Beckham=bad Morel=bad Robin=Good Viciedo=no so good yet Sale=Good Humber=Good A lot of the questions have been answered already. and with only 3 pieces not working - that's a playoff caliber club. every team has a couple terrible hitters
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) This site is usually overly negative but as a whole we were pretty damn optimistic going into 05. but don't you guys get that we're only overly negative this year because of Dunn and Rios. IF - and it's a decently sized if - they're hitting well come midseason, then what flaws do we HAVE?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) I do i just don't know anything about him other than he was suddenly good last year.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) Really, no we didn't. Uribe had a vastly better 2004. Podsednik had a great year in 2003 and was still well down from there, and was almost worthless in the 2nd half. The Bullpen and rotation...yes...but not anyone in the lineup other than the Captain. eh i wasn't looking and it was 7 years ago. but supports my point even better. middling, middling offense and great pitching. Our bullpen is as good as 05 and our rotation could be. plug in a resurgent Dunn and Rios, and if you're contending midseason, you have to go for it.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) The Tigers are going to hit a roll too. Not having Price Pfister drops that rotation down a serious level. we think fister's actually good?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) I didn't think so. I loved that roster coming into the season and had many drunken rants to that effect. That was the most complete roster the Sox had sported any year since 1994. yyyyeah but look at it compared to Detroit or Texas' lineups this year. we got career years out of uribe, iguchi, pods, and the entire bullpen and rotation. if we get career years out of the guys on THIS squad - we're an even better team than that one. Not saying that's very likely to happen. Just saying it.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) Honestly, yeah, I don't think this team can hang the whole season with the Tigers, and I think a 2nd half slump is inevitable with the guys they're relying on in the starting rotation. The 2nd wild card is the only reason I might reconsider, but I still think the biggest thing that needs to happen is this team needs to be 100% set up going into 2013, which means losing a whole lot more games trying to turn Morel, beckham, and Viciedo into something, and clearing out those incredibly risky contracts if at all possible. the 2005 team looked like s*** on paper too.
  19. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) I'm sure Ozzie is doing his share of s***ting on the Sox players and brass down in Florida. and to that we just say: look at the standings
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) Well, unfortunately, you know that wouldn't be the first time with this franchise. I know it wouldn't happen, so we wouldn't have to worry about it, but yeah, if I were in the GM slot, I'd take my team out of contention to clear those 2 contracts. THat'd leave the Sox with >$50 million to spend on the FA market next offseason just to get back to this level of salary. That's the kind of money that could put Cano into this lineup and Hamels into the rotation. just to spend on more big name free agents who could inexplicably blow up? come on.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) Even if he was hitting like that...yeah, I'd still be more than willing to let him go. The White Sox paid a premium price for him to try to compete last year. They failed in that effort, so it's hard for me to figure out how paying a premium price for a DH who is 2 years older for the next 2 years could be any sort of good idea. because without him we have NO lineup. honestly. NONE. what better option do we have?
  22. paulie... no... don't be hurt... aight nevermind. looked like he was grimmacing.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) Honestly...no I wouldn't. Not with where this team is right now. If you can clear that extra $25 million and get rid of the risk of those guys doing nothing next year...I might let them go even if in first place. you really don't buy Dunn bouncing back? I honestly see him hitting 30+ homers this year with a .850+ OPS. No reason to think he can't do it.
