QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 01:03 PM) Moderation. Something people love to say they believe in, without actually believing in it. Like saying life is short, or some other overused saying that sounds great to say. Haha yes. but Tizzle's completely right. If you were eating 3000 and were still hungry, it's because you were burning up to 1000 friggin calories doing the P90X workouts so your net was only 2000. Not enough to bulk up/gain weight/whatever you wanted. You should eat until you're full, but as long as you're eating healthy foods - you're completely right - you'll get good results without hating your life. I will say, though, that eating a decent ratio is still important. if you're eating 4000 calories of carbs you're gonna get fat. if you're eating 4,000 calories of protein you're gonna die. It's not hard to eyeball the ratios though if you're eating a lean protein with every meal and going lighter on the carbs towards the end of the day.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Telander's earlier story proves yes, he meant it. What he meant is obvious and arguably not so bad. Ozzie respects Castro for being a complete bastard and surviving, not being assassinated. In Ozzie's weird brain, he respects the fact this man has not been beheaded by now. He should never have gone there and deserves the backlash he's receiving. To say he "loves Castro" is beyond stupid. If stupidity can get you fired, then he deserves to be fired. But IMO he should not be fired. Somebody should come to Ozzie's defense and point out things he's done for people, for charity, etc. We've read enough accounts to realize Ozzie is not a bad man. GREG! You've found your calling! Run to him! Defend him! Write an article! Do SOMETHING!

what all this recent news highlights is that republicans are, indeed, horrible.

Take a pot shot at KW even though Sergio Santos has two blown saves, Santiago's 2/2 and Molina has one start under his belt 14h cst_Cowley @cst_Cowley Reply Retweet Favorite · Open I wonder what Robin will say about Cuba this afternoon ... ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ... it's human valium. Blame Ventura for being really boring, not exciting like Ozzie and Joe-Hineybird's Co(u)wsin 14h cst_Cowley @cst_Cowley Reply Retweet Favorite · Open ... but the fact you people can't quit Ozzie Guillen. Embrace it Chicago, you miss the circus! No, you miss the circus, that's the only reason you still have a job, trying to create one. 14h cst_Cowley @cst_Cowley Reply Retweet Favorite · Open You know what's amazing? The first week of Chicago baseball, the most talked about thing is not the Sox bullpen, not the Cubs rotation... 16h cst_Cowley @cst_Cowley Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Bill Maher's comments about 9-11 were 100 times worse, and ol' Bill recovered just fine. Make irrelevant comparisons with political commentators outside the world of sports (no Rush Limbaugh?) that attempt to make Ozzie look "not so bad" in comparison 16h DKnobler @DKnobler Reply Retweet Favorite · Open I tend to agree more with @cst_Cowley, who points out that speaking out stupidly is supposed to be a problem in Castro's Cuba, not here. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) Gavin bringing it today. TEE will be making his first plate appearance this year. Do something dramatic. does he really warrant an acronym?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) Win some bloody games and I'll be plenty excited. but he IS right in regard to the general public. we on soxtalk care no matter what - but the public could have used a Cespedes to get excited about in a year like this.

stupid mlb.tv blackouts means i can't watch the game on my TV! probably gonna catch some feed online... but not the same.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) That money for Cespedes was a big gamble, and one we couldn't afford to make due to the presence of Dunn and Rios already on the future payrolls. And there's always the possibility the league will adjust to him and he'll be in AAA at some point this season, but he's exactly what baseball in Oakland needs to survive, a potential superstar who can go out of the yard at any place in that stadium, in any weather conditions. That said, we do have Viciedo and that doesn't mean we should throw $20-30 million at Soler just because of what Cespedes has done in 4 games. If nothing else, Beane can market him to the rest of MLB and get 2-3-4 top prospects back who will hit the ground running when they finally get their new stadium out there. i love how your style of posting is just to have a conversation with yourself. it's psychologically intriguing.

guys just deal with it - cespedes could be really good - that's all he's saying.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) is it premature to put an "x" in front of Detroit in the standings? their pitching is tres suspect.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) I think we all agree that managers have a smaller impact on the game relative to the other major sports but Ozzie is truly a f***in moron. There is no doubt in my mind that his act wore on the players and this guy really cost our Sox last year. I wish him nothing but the worst and I've never rooted harder against a non divisional baseball team than I will against the Marlins this year. Heath Bell just blew a save. Lol.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Oz will definitely be booed. He reiterated that personally he respects Castro which won't cut it. the question is, would greg boo him?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) What a great story. Kid goes from nowhere, playing in Puerto Rican winter ball (working on his offspeed stuff and screwball), to the #11 prospect in the worst minor league system in baseball to bypassing the #1 Sox prospect (and the #1 closer prospect in the game) and being named our closer. He was throwing easy, 94-95 MPH gas, almost as easy as Thornton. But there's something about his composure and moxie on the mound...amazing where we come up with all of our closers, Takatsu, Hermanson, Jenks, Santos and now Santiago. this is why you don't pay for closers, fantasy or real baseball. it's just dumb. -

QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Me either. Sox fans just have a hard time dealing with certain realities. They are content to having a second rate organization in no worse than the third largest baseball market in the known universe. I'm not. And I don't want to hear about 2005. A bunch of marginal players had career years and they won. They have one hall of fame candidate from that team - and he didn't even play in the series. They haven't come anywhere to being that good since. Where I come from that's one-hit wonder. So between Michael Jordan whom he inherited (and b****ed about paying) and 2005, Reinsdorf is the greatest thing since sliced bread. you seem like a sad person -
