QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) He was a huge hypocrite.... But, this isn't the place for that. ok fine, how about this, we've all been hypocritical at one point or another in our lives. you don't have to call yourself a hypocrite if you don't want.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:24 PM) Wilson to the Angels - Rangers get desperate for pitching and do something stupid for Danks? Damned Gio / Beane - taking away our leverage. Florida still has its offer on the table for Wilson. 6 years. So... lets not get ahead of ourselves.

QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) How so? because I am not. then you, sir, are jesus.

we're all hypocrites

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:20 PM) whoa, blast from the past i thought the same thing

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) There's no doubt in my mind that Buehrle will get traded sometime during the next four years to the Cardinals. or he'll sign a one year deal at the end of it.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) Wait, people thought we were going to try to contend next year? Or is that a joke? with those guys... safer to assume it was not, in fact, a joke.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) I'll just drop it I'm down with that. They's both good.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) Does anyone not agree that greg and elrock are the same person at this point? omg you're right.
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) I am afraid we won't be contending BWAHAHAHAHAHA i love this guy
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) I agree with the sentiment you are expressing. This has been a very frustrating season and isn't done yet as far as disappointments. Apparently theSox feel Buerhle can't offer them a quality season or four anymore. Or Jerry is broke. If he is broke then he should save money by canning KW. I don't see the Sox addressing the real issues or problems with this team. All you hear and have now seen is dump salary. With MB and Juan Pierre gone and Vizquel and Castro and also Santos we have cut around $20M plus and keep high paid non-performers. It will take awhile to accept the direction the team is headed and hopefully by ST we can get positive again hahaha we're addressing the issues by blowing the team up. The whole team is an issue. We're not competing next year or for a couple. Get used to it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Well hell, for 4/58, I don't care of KW was able to make his trades first or not. I love Mark, but he isn't worth that risk. Florida is out of their minds doing this, and the rest of the disaster they are staging. That said, I will stand and cheer for Mark on his return to The Cell. Classy guy, and one of my faves of all time on the Sox. I hope he does great, except against us. And I can't blame him for taking the deal, even with the circus. Sounds like most teams were offering 3 years, in the $36M-$39M territory. Kind of hard to turn down $20M guaranteed. Like fathom said, if he went for 3/36 or something, then I'd be more pissed at KW. As it is, better we didn't sign him. completely agree with all of this. well said

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) We can meet in the middle and say 11 1/2. i think that's an excellent idea.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:46 PM) Tulo has been significantly better for the past two seasons, Hanley has been trending downward for three. Numbers from four years ago don't have much predictive value. the numbers i most recently quoted were a range from age 24 to 26 - which does have predictive value.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) 12. hahaha touche.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) This is infuriating. When will KW be fired. Mark picks Oz. What a joke of an organization. And where was Jerry to intervene in this one?? And express Paulie-like love for Mark? Cheapass owner.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) Or it was the money, and nothing else. ^ |
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) Considering they went after Wilson just as hard, you have no idea either if it was Ozzie that told the Marlins to specifically go after Buehrle. lol I know that. That's what I'm saying. WE don't know anything other than the facts of the deal.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) It's not possible that it was entirely about the money? And I'm the one in the fantasy world? yeah obviously they offered him a s*** ton of money, and if the marlins are the ones who offered him the most, then great. but EVEN SO, you can't completely discount Ozzie's influence. You know he went to the ownership and said he wanted Buerhle. You know he called Mark and said the same thing. You have no idea what went on behind the scenes so stop claiming to know it was all about the money. I'M just saying that there may be information we aren't privy to. Is that so unbelievable?
-
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) It looks like another Sox pitcher might be heading to the Marlins as well.. Marlins are very interested in trading for John Danks. gimme LoMo!
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) If you follow professional sports at all, there usually is ONE reason & ONE reason only why players make decisions during free agency. Mark signing with the Marlins proves that point once again. @cst_Cowley: Guillen said Buehrle's family crying his last gm in Chicago, and he told them, 'Don't worry, we'll be back together again.'' I hate Cowley, but yeah obviously Guillen had nothing to do with any of this. Furthest thing from Mark's mind I'll bet.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) Trading Lillibridge would be incredibly stupid. lol i agree - but remember when we all hated him... that was funny.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) No, I'm saying that what happened 3 or 4 years ago isn't what's happening now. You could argue that Hanley has had a better career overall, but not that Hanley is, right now, the better player. If you went off of career cumulative WAR, you could argue that Vladimir Guerrero should be in way more demand than Prince Fielder. vlad isn't 26 and 27 like tulo and hanley respectively... you can't say that hanley's last season is indicative of hanley next year either! it's called an outlier, and they happen. If I recall PK has had a few of those. Does that mean he's not a good player?
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) Or it was the money, and nothing else. lol yeah ok i forgot we live in a magical world of black and white where there can only be ONE reason and ONE reason alone for making any given decision. Thanks for the reminder.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) So the compensation is still the same, right? I don't have the new CBA rules all down yet. we get a draft pick, but not 1st rounder because marlins were in the bottom half of teams. dumb.
