  1. little fun fact - There are now only 8 players on our 40 man born before 1980. how weird is that?
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Fine. Sorry. I guess we'll all just lie about who she was because we're sad she died even though none of us have ever met her or know her. I've certainly met her. FWIW
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) in the last two years PK has more than twice the number of plate appearances. Who cares about early in their careers? DLee is injury prone, PK is not besides the point the others made - PK is ENTIRELY injury prone. He was hurt ALL of 2009!
  4. first legit source: SI_JonHeyman: konerko's agent is pressing beyond where #chisox had planned. but theres still pretty decent optimism for deal.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Not to speak ill of the dead, but she has come off as having quite a few issues of her own from what I have read. Not necessarily just the victim most people think. regardless, she was an amazing woman who dealt with a lot of tragedy in her life, and was pretty inspirational to a lot of people. she handled everything that happened in the past few years with a lot of class - at least publicly - and that's all you can expect. RIP
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) Or is content having a world series ring while amassing millions with an opportunity now to spend more time with his family. this is my thought. I feel like Paul's already done it all with the sox, and just wants to spend time with his kids. I can't blame him for that.
  7. Twitter mlbtraderumors: RT @dbackswriter: #Dbacks pushing hard to sign J.J. Putz to two-year deal with club option for 2013. http://bit.ly/gAVcLl [via Twitter] not cool
  8. Buster_ESPN: Heard this: Good progress being made by D-backs to bring J.J. Putz in as potential closer.
  9. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) So Dunn leads off? Problem solved. sabermetrically yes.
  10. from Rotoworld: "It's tied for the third biggest contract ever given to an outfielder, behind Manny Ramirez's $160 million pact with the Red Sox in 2000 and Alfonso Soriano's $136 million deal with the Cubs. It's identical to Vernon Wells' deal with the Blue Jays." And how did 2/3 of those turn out? Ugh.
  11. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) I don't mind Dunn being the DH but I can't believe how much the Sox overpaid for him. s***. When you consider that the Sox could get a much better hitter like Vlad Guerrero on a two or three year deal at $ 6-7 mil per or even Thome on a 1 year deal for $ 4-5 mil. and Thome's better at 41 than Dunn is at 31. There's just no way that Dunn as a DH and not even close to being one of the best hitters in baseball or even a valuable player should command $ 14 mil. per year. Pujols will get $ 25 mil. per and if he was only a DH he would get much less and he's three times the hitter. It's just a huge overpayment. And, now how do the Sox convince Konerko to take less money than Dunn when he is clearly a far better baseball player. That's pretty impressive. You've managed to make a post containing absolutely NO factual information. Well done sir.
  12. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) It's kind of ironic, watching the marathon of the Club on MLB Network, the Sox now have Adam Dunn AND Edwin Jackson (at least for now) Kenny ALWAYS gets the guy he's after. Eventually.
  13. Hot damn Kenny is wheeling and dealing in all the right ways. This is pretty amazing to watch unfold. I have little doubt we wont ink Konerko too. Way to go KW!
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) No one is making you fly. If you don't like it, there are tons of other modes of transportation out there available. no there aren't. not until the government puts more money into railways. how the hell do you suggest I get from NYC to Vancouver for a weekend for business?
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) This has now been covered in three threads. i'm really sick of this response - especially in the offseason. If you've already seen the info, don't read it. Done.
  16. Linky Haha love that last pic. What a pimp.
  17. QUOTE (SEALgep @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 06:46 AM) He hasn't exactly earned "bit in the ass" territory 14 Wins with a 3.16 ERA how do you figure?
  18. she took the midnight train going anywhere...
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) future cy youngs dont have 6 walks and 1 strikeout in their debut. Future cy youngs have debuts like Strasburg you maaaay have taken his post a tad too seriously. just a hunch.
  20. heyman just quoted KW as saying we WILL get a bat - probably dunn - but SOMEONE for sure. EDIT: Haha jumping to conclusions - said yesterday by a friend of KWs. means nothing.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) Not if you're Mark Kotsay. haha touche sir.
  22. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 08:56 AM) The Orioles organization is truly a mess. Now they are asking for sponges in return for their most valuable trade pieces well done.
