  1. i love that attitude. i think he's got the mindset. And have to reiterate, great job Cerb, really enjoyed the interview
  2. im not a mack fan, he always starts out really hot then tails off emensely. if we were to get him now, all we'd get was his worst part of the season... just look at last year. his ending stats are far from impressive, but for the first couple months it looked like he does right now. honestly at the moment we're still winning - dont do anything. we've been the best team in baseball all year, weve been in 1st place all year, what do we need to change?
  3. have i ever mentioned that i love this club? haha i love how we did this w/ only 2 homers too. we kick ass!
  4. graves is a good pitcher. i see keith foulke written ALL over this... its the same thing, jettison him while he's struggling just to see him break out again. it'll happen. book it.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) actually more people seemed to like Cotts last year when he was worse than they did this year :banghead im not gonna complain about a 2.70 era damn
  6. it didnt look intentional to me at all... its the umps fault for getting in the way... i dont know im just not so against what he did as the rest of you...
  7. i like the mets... cuz they're my brothers fav team... but i'm always pulling for them tho their pitching really sucks... they have the hitting to go far but aside from pedro their rotation's nothing special... but still i'll be rooting for them
  8. is there an all of the above? or all except anderson? yeah...
  9. if thomas is traded i will be royally pissed... i dont know what i'll do but... wow... everett means nothing to this club, frank does. wow... i'm interested to see what happens...
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Miguel Olivo wasn't going anywhere either.. :rolly it ups his trade value if the GM 'doesnt want him to leave' classic trick
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) Adjusted numbers mean nothing to me. Just give me the raw data. Chavez is not worth a $30+ million commitment and giving up some of our top talent. actually...
  12. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) No doubt...I was thinking the same thing when I saw it...did this stem from Soxtalk? cuz we didnt really get it from anywhere... just that we wanted him... weird... makes it more likely that this is all untrue.
  13. bmac's good, but i dont see him being an ace... no. 3 maybe
  14. ok i like baj and all but you guys seriously are acting like hes the second coming! though i do agree that frank should go down to triple A for the next couple weeks, at least until interleague is over, he'll do better getting at bats than sitting on a bench.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Sometimes you swing at a pitch over your head? That swing was terrible. He should of never even attempted to make contact with that pitch. 90% of the time when you make contact with that pitch it gets popped up. I give him props for getting good wood on it, but good lord that was terrible pitch selection to swing at with a guy who has struggled to throw strikes. if you see a high pitch like that and you tamohawk it, it'd gonna fly - far. uribe was just a hair too early, otherwise im pretty sure you wouldnt be complaining about his pitch selection would you?
  16. hey ya know, soxtalk's pretty cool, it was only a matter of time until the media picked up on that, duh.
  17. i hate these rumors cuz then i get all excited and a couple days later you find out it was a bunch of BS damn...
  18. it wouldnt be too hard to do either... you'd just have to work it right with the off days for contreras basically
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Saying he "wants out" is different than "understanding how baseball works." If he understands how baseball works, he can still want to stay in Oakland but still accept the fact that he's got to go. It says he wants out. the quote from HIM says he understands how baseball works the quote from WHOEVER says he wants out... hmmm
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) With Ozzie as manager we should all know the answer. Timo. actually you're right, but its worse than that. timo will close, but every 5 days he will ALSO start. fills in 2 holes at once! he's such a great utility guy like that
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Wow that is even scarier, then who closes? see what i dont understand is why garland isnt pitching tomorrow. thats how you get a guy like duque some rest, take ADVANTAGE of the off days... oh well its ozzie. in any case there are plenty of guys who could close, also i'd much rather have a guy who can help us win every day over one that helps once every 5-6 days
  22. aka maybe its a sign
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) And who would be our 5th starter when (not if) Hernandez goes down again? to me thats the only snag... but if it came to it, would you rather have a guy that can help you win every day, or a guy who might be able to help you win once every 5 days or so if one of our guys goes down i know its likely that Duque goes down again... but it depends on the situation. if its just 2 weeks again to rest him, go with a 4 man rotation. if its longer, use cotts/adkins (ugh)/hermey? i dont know... but saying no to a deal based on possibilities when the things you would gain are definite... i think would be foolish.
  24. that last part is interesting... he wants to play here? i thought it was LA
