Last night's election results showed a 22% swing in the electorate since Nov 8th. That's insane. Jon outperformed even the best polls by 3 points, and the most pessimistic by 9 points. The Dems got 49.5% of the vote last night, compared to 38% in Tom Price's last election. If it weren't for gerrymandering, today the GA-6 would be blue. That said, I feel pretty good about Jon's chances vs. Karen Handel, who has lost every single GA election she's run in, from state legislature to senate to the governorship. Most recent polls have Jon at 48% to Handel's 47%. I'm hopefully going to be heading back for the run-off, because this was the most amazing campaign I've ever been involved with. We had more volunteers than the last 10 candidates in the race got votes... combined. Power to the people, yall!

Working on the ground for Jon Ossoff in Georgia's 6th district the last couple days, and here through the election. It's pretty exciting. Obviously getting 50% on Tuesday will be a challenge, but in special elections anything can happen, and it's alllll about turnout. Either way - the energy here is pretty amazing, considering it's been a red district for 38 years!

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 11:51 AM) Weird I usually ignore the ridiculous posts. You, greg, etc.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) This is concerning IMO. We need to develop the vaccine to combat the pandemic flu first. but what can YOU do about it? Literally nothing. So why get worked up?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 12:27 AM) I made him an offer, he didn't accept. In betting, it shows that we have similar views on the topic. I could be wrong of course, but I'll take the better bet. Seems like Rock would too. I know you have said we have "a thing" or whatever you said but I really don't see it way. The aggression you follow me around with is concerning as it is completely rooted in personal feelings. Move on. I think you're seeing what you want to see here. I respond to ridiculous posts. You just tend to make an awful lot more of those than the average poster.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 11:26 PM) Does this concern you? CNN says pandemic flu a real threat in the future. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/07/health/flu-p...upta/index.html It's actually entirely likely that the earth and humanity suffers an extinction-level event at some point in the near future. Between climate change and superviruses that are adapting to all of our medications? Yeah. Totally feasible. Am I concerned? Nope. Nothing I can do about it, so why be concerned?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 10:49 AM) In Sweden... the place Trump said immigration was a big problem and the left laughed at him. Tough week for the neolibs. How many times do these have to happen where it turns out the attacker wasn't an immigrant at all, but someone who was simply radicalized as a citizen before you'll stop using this ridiculous jump-to-conclusions type of passive aggressive argument?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 09:33 PM) I don't typically get inside info on Swedish terror suspects and never claimed to. So you won't put up the money then? Okay. I thought a guy who mentions he's a 1 percenter every month would back his words up is all. He's still going!
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 07:55 PM) Rock won't put his money where his mouth and probably just continue with the lame jabs but I'd bet he's not someone who was born and raised in Sweden. Let me know Rock. If you knew how silly you sounded maybe you'd ease back on all the tough guy talk... lol

Guys. They're both bad.

This was simply an opportunity for Trump to toss water on the Russia investigation. He gave Putin, and thus Syria, a heads up so there wouldn't be significant casualties. This is a calculated move that has nothing to do with foreign policy or humanitarianism. This has everything to do with Trump's poll numbers and the Russia probe.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 01:18 AM) Is there any figure out on casualties? I'm assuming there are casulaties. Interesting turn in the Trump-Russia leftist conspiracy theory. So Russia meddled and hacked the US election so Trump could serve their interests by bombing their ally? Am I getting that right? It's hard to keep up. we'll see how it plays out. This could be Trump trying to kill the Russia issue. Saw an opportunity, took it, now people like you will be saying things like you just said. Makes sense.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 10:03 AM) Ossoff getting 50%+ of the vote in Tom Price's former district is almost the equivalent of the Scott Brown election in MA... I'm heading down there next week to work on the campaign the last week of the race. It'll be interesting for sure!

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) huh I guess this was just a completely random, unrelated post to me gently pointing out that you were using a phrase that has a history of being used as a racial slur? lol @ rabbit claiming he wasn't responding to you because he didn't directly quote you. also lol @ rabbit thinking it's his views on wiretapping that make him racist... this is some good stuff. #popcorn

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:22 PM) Of course it is. Tolerance is only for those who are accepted. Bro that comparison was truly Reddy level. Maybe worse.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 05:49 PM) BS. With all of the equal rights pushes, you can't talk about things like gay rights, and then try to disqualify someone's believably level because of something like that. It is hypocrisy. it is in no way earthly way hypocrisy. what are you smoking right now?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 09:42 PM) As soon as we hear that Soros is similarly threatening Manchin, Heitkamp and Donnelly over the Gorsuch nomination (like Koch did to support no votes from the HFC on the AHCA)...the majority of Soros spending is in Europe. The Koch Brothers are worth about $85-90 billion combined. Soros, $25 billion. http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2010/09/op...-koch-brothers/ Lobbying expenditures, about $52 million (Koch) vs. $12 million for Soros through 2010...and Koch Industries political spending dwarfed that in 2012-14-16. Soros' attention has been increasingly focused on global issues, like his Open Society programs. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/crisis-many-...-131300919.html Matt Drudge claims Congress is sabotaging Trump Once again, the facts confirm my bias.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 07:58 PM) I am enjoying an outsider trying to play a game they have no idea how it is played, or what the rules are. He will eventually have a few wins. What... exactly... do you mean by "enjoying"? Like actually enjoying, or enjoying in the sarcastic/entertaining sense?
-
QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:37 PM) Exactly. But they are one trickle in the flood. And let's not forget about foreign influences. RE: The Kochs A trickle, you say?
-
QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:29 PM) And about as influential on a cellular lever to the average voter here. they're incredibly influential without you realizing it. That's the point.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) That is exactly what I was thinking. I swear both of them use the same playbook. Just the names change. I've literally never read or heard about Soros funneling money into campaigns in the way the Kochs do, or lobbying to the extent they do. The Kochs literally run NYC, where I live, and I work events that they attend quite often. You'd think if Soros had the same pull I'd have had SOME sort of contact or exposure to him over the years. Are they really identical and I'm missing it because of my bubble, or is there actually a difference?
-
QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:21 PM) Koch Brothers of the left. No, that part I understand. Do Republicans really not know who and what the Koch brothers support? (honestly asking)
-
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 07:04 PM) I wonder if George Soros just threatens to kill every Dem's family if they don't stick to the plan. Same goes for the Republican side, just don't know who the big cheese is. I too was also hoping the outside candidate would rattle the cages and get everyone back to work. I'm voting for Terry Crews in 2020. Did you know Republicans are literally the only people who talk about George Soros? I literally don't know a thing about his political involvements. Nothing.
