  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) And despite the hot mess that has become the Republican party, this is why I could never be a Democrat. Hillary isn't falling apart due to her candidacy, her "mistakes" and policy changes, or anything else that is her fault... nope, it is sexism. Can't it be both?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) I'd feel so much better about 1-3 if they actually did something to show that Jar Jar really was this evil mastermind or something. Favorite. Theory. Ever.
  3. Just so I don't get flamed too badly - this 538 article gets into a lot of it
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) Don't agree with greg a lot, but ridiculous to pull the sexist card there. It's probably not intentional sexism, but the entire persona that is Hillary Clinton has been born out of institutional sexism and misogyny in the media. Everything she does is scrutinized to an absurd extent. Could she have crazy wild hair, wag her fingers around, and bellow the way Bernie does without getting crucified? No, I'm not saying greg is sexist. I'm saying he's buying into the media-created persona that is built out of sexism. And those who are more inclined to believe that stuff, are probably more inclined to also hold (perhaps unintentionally or unmaliciously) sexist beliefs themselves. ETA: I'm pretty sure I recall greg commenting on her voice/"cackle"/etc in the past.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) SNL gets it about Hllary. There's so much truth and bite to Kate McKinnon's portrayal. Hillary the elitist/entitled lady. But for some reason we want her as president. Because many of us aren't sexist. (and SNL is comedy. Thought that might be important to mention)
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 04:07 AM) Your post reads like the media's coverage of Wyoming and the roll Bernie's been on. It's like "Bernie wins again" should be the headline and instead it's "Hillary continues to storm toward nomination" Saturday Night Live is the only organization that gets "it." They have the whole situation down pat. They tied in pledged delegates (7) and Hillary already had 4 superdelegates, so she leaves Wyoming increasing her lead by 4 delegates. Why should the media headline be "Bernie Wins Again" again?
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 11:37 PM) Ho hum. Bernie wins again. Wyoming to Bernie. I think it's despicable that thanks to political media coverage, this is turning into a racial thing and that's ultimately going to bury Bernie in upcoming east coast primaries/caucuses. Why in the hell is Hillary considered so great by African Americans compared to Bernie?? For gosh sakes, Bill just took on the entire Black Lives Matter movement forcibly. If that had been one of Bernie's relatives ... boom, he'd have been buried more by the media. You tell me why the media like Geraldo laugh at Bernie's chances in New York and other Eastern states because allegedly he is so bad for African American voters?? With this turning into a racial thing ... Bernie truly has no chance. (As proof, the CNN article I read on Wyoming said "it follows Bernie's pattern of winning only rural WHITE states." WTF. I wish Bernie would present his case better to African Americans because it's not like Hillary will be that much better for African Americans than Bernie!! Chisoxfan? Weigh in on this? It has nothing to do with the media. It has to do with the fact that Bernie doesn't appeal much to minorities and women thanks to his condescension and Bernie Bro supporters... And "turning into a racial thing?" He's had this problem since the beginning. It ain't new. I'm actually surprised his margin of victory in Wyoming was so small. I take that as a good sign for Hillary going forward - not that she needs it since she's got NY/PA/MD/NJ locked up.
  8. Am I the only one who wouldn't mind it if he kept Put in on the Board? Though I know that won't happen. Just gonna miss that when it's officially gone.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 01:08 PM) Here is my problem with this specific situation. Sanders has made this a central theme to his campaign. His campaign commercials during the Illinois primary mentioned this specifically as one of the things he was going to do. We aren't talking about a random gotcha question here. This is a central plank in his platform. This is some Donald Trump type stuff. Exactly. That interview proved there is no more substance in Bernie Sanders than there is in Trump. Lots of bluster, literally no understanding of policy or specifics. Simply put, Bernie Sanders has no idea HOW to do the things he's promising to do. And he admitted it. That's bad.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 10:25 AM) I don't know for certain, but I've gotten the sense that Eno may be a Sox fan. Has always paid special attention the Sox players/prospects and is generally more positive than the general consensus. He's an unashamed Mets fan, but yeah maybe. I mean those are my two teams, too
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) I think our next President should be the first to attack this issue and get all veterans taken care of and pronto. But that would be an issue that actually helps the people. None of our leaders seem too interested in making all our lives actually better. Trump and Hillary both seem like they have better things to worry about, like uh, themselves and satisfying their huge egos. This problem is DISGRACEFUL. Take care of our vets for gawd-sakes!! Um, the Democrats in Congress tried to this session. The GOP didn't support the bill.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 08:00 PM) Janesville PD: “We reviewed this video as well as many others and we did not find evidence of a sexual assault. The video does not support evidence of a sexual assault. It does support that a punch was delivered by the 15 yr old….We have referred to Juvenile authorities the 15 year old female for disorderly conduct charges. It could’ve been an assault charge but Mr Crandall didn’t want to pursue those charges. There are no charges regarding Mr. Crandall. He committed no crime.” Wow. Yeah I believe all of that.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 03:14 PM) I have personally seen in my home town how many places refuse to accept medicare because it isn't profitable for them to do so. Looking over this plan there is zero reason to think that trend won't continue, even more so if this is the only game in town. Like it or not, medicine does have to be profitable for places to stand in business doing it. Honestly from my point of view there is no reason to think this plan would actually work when real life is showing that no one wants anything to do with medicare now. Nothing about Bernie's campaign has anything to do with real life.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) Notice I haven't bashed Hillary lately? I truly have figured out a way to survive this encompassing dislike of Hillary that I have. I have not read a word about her or watched her on TV, listened to her on radio for a few weeks in a row now and will continue avoiding her in such mediums. The second the TV or radio starts talking election or Hillary I turn it off. It's going to be my policy during her eight years and if Chelsea enters politics, the next 16 years. I can't take Hillary's voice screaming at me and all the things I've expressed that I dislike about her, so I have to check out politically. It's easier since the other candidates are scary bad as well except Kasisch (IMO). I am selfish enough to hope she somehow improves the country/world in her tenure and proves me wrong, but not listening to Hillary at all has helped me calm down and become a better person. :lolhitting this is comedy gold.
  15. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) I bet you thought Hilary had it in the bag in 2008 too, eh Reddy. Nope. I was a diehard Edwards guy. Yikes.
  16. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Even in the reports I have read on it the media is using the way Washington awards its delegates to make it seem like Bernie only cut her lead by 35 delegates when in reality it will be closer to a 65 or so gain once the rest of the delegates are awarded. One article I read made the ridiculous assertion that Bernie continues to do well in "predominantly white, caucus states" despite the fact that Washington, Hawaii and Alaska are three of the most ethnically diverse states in the USA. The media bias is really out of hand. Is it a bias, or just a reflection of the fact that the math still shows that this race is essentially over? (I mean I know there's a bias in there, obviously, but that also doesn't mean they need to be gushing over Bernie's relatively meaningless wins) That's right y'all. Reddy is a Hillary supporter. Who saw that coming?

    Summer Vacations

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 21, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) Just honeymooned there in October. It's lovely. Where are you staying? A group of us are going and we rented a 3bd house at Guavaberry Spring Bay. Anything besides the Baths that we HAVE to check out?
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) Adam, you're an idiot. But thanks for retiring...it should be easier for us pitchers to get a win without your dumb a$$ striking out 3 times a game. Buy your kid a kite. $25 donation to LaRoche Family Recovery Fund https://twitter.com/search?f=images&ver...ks&src=typd Is that for real from Danks? No. it's from a fake gofundme that was set up. I posted it on the previous page

    Summer Vacations

Anybody been to Virgin Gorda? We're heading there in late April to do some beachfront rock climbing
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 12:53 PM) Reddy!
  21. This whole thing blows. Eaton was my favorite player on the squad - but after this? I couldn't care less if they traded both him and Sale when given the opportunity. And after seeing bucket's take, I'm definitely #teamkenny (side note: meet the new and improved Reddy. It's been a while )
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 12:13 AM) Hillary Clinton is catching some serious heat about deleting 30000 emails. People are showing her mugshot next to Sarah Palin and mocking Hillary's looks. Why would she want the hassle of being president aside from the stuff I've mentioned before. This should be very interesting if the media decides to keep ruffling her feathers rather than worshiping her presence. It'll blow over
  23. QUOTE (kevo880 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) Which island? all of em! ok not really, but Maui, Kauai, the big island, and Oahu, though won't have much time in Oahu. I'll have overnights on Maui and Kauai, which is fun (I work on cruise ships)
  24. Alright, y'all! I'm finally getting to go to Hawaii, so what are the number 1 adventure-y things I need to do there?
